Choice of controls

What control method do you plan to use on your platform of choice?

PLEASE no platform bashing. For the purposes of this thread and poll, all platforms are equal.

I'll try KB/M first. If it doesn't work out well, I'll use the X360 controller.

Keyboard, I like to put a button for each sign. I don't know if it will be possible in W3 but I did it in W2 and it's pretty cool. Maybe you could add a poll to the tread.

Took a little while to create the poll. Apologies for that.

PC - Xbox controller for me. I usually play 3rd person games on a gamepad. KB+M for FPS games or other shooters where I struggle to aim using a gamepad.

KB+M to the end ;) (Might try a DS4 later on, but KB+M takes waaaay higher precedence for me)

Yeah, I don't believe this game supports that.

PC - Mouse & keyboard all the way for me. Hoping the game has 0 mouse acceleration out of the box and I won't have to switch the Smoothness to 0 in the .ini file like I had to in Witcher 2.

The only instances where I use a controller are platformer games and Souls games (because the PC ports are usually very bad when it comes to options and keybindings).

I don't think there's any indication either way. But I'd agree that means it's probably best NOT to assume it does. :)

I personally dont see why it wouldnt. Final Fantasy XIV proved (and the developers actually said so) that adding mouse and keyboard support on the Playstation 4 was actually rather simple.

Yes there is no confirmation either way from RED, but with it being obviously simple to add to a console (EDIT - PS4 at least) game - i dont see why not. In the end, it is really up to RED to decided if they want to ALLOW it on the console, rather that worrying about adding support for it.

True, and it may work. My only concern is if it's vitally important to you (or someone else), and you pre-order on the assumption that it definitely WILL work. Without confirmation, there is a risk to that assumption.

If it's simply a preference, not something critical to your enjoyment, then fair enough.

100% of course! Making assumptions like that does provide an element of risk.

That being said, automatically assuming it WONT be, carries the same risk as well.

Like i always say, hope for the best, expect the worst.

If there are more than 8 dodging directions I'll probably stick with the controller. I can't see how MnKb is going work when the game is so lock on dependent.

Played TW2 on PC. On KB/mouse was simply terrible IMO. I switched to a PC controller and was much better.
Now going to play TW3 on PS4 and going to use the dedicated controller.
My personal opinion is that controller is simply much better in all games that use a third-person perspective.
I now use KB+M only on strategy games and the occasional FPS I play on PC. Mouse aiming is much better on FPS.

I will be using a gamepad most likely and keyboard for other commands like, opening inventory or going to alchemy etc. Things that are not necessary to access instantly.
