Chosing deck after chosing faction

Chosing deck after chosing faction

I think it would be good option to have, so for example if i know that enemy playing monster i will pick the deck with only clear sky weathers, but the enemy can chose deck with more decoys to counter my spies and play more like alchemist strategy deck rather than weather etc.

I think it could bring more strategic options to game rather then randomness because of not knowing enemy fraction.

What do you think?

Who chooses first? A coin toss? I don't like this idea.

@mjul No it would be kinda simultaneously, you choose which fraction you want to play while didnt knowing the enemy's, and after you are paired both of you have short time to chose your deck while only seeing what fraction enemy plays (you dont see his decks)

this idea came to me after i thought that weather for non-monster deck might be less valuable because you can came across the monster deck and then they will be useless

That's ... not bad. Kinda interesting really. It would also make deck building more specific and less oriented on combating every faction. Decks would be more specialised.

I'm not sure, that I'm 100% behind this idea, but it warrants a second thought.

Wouldn't make sense at all. You could just make a deck to counter every faction and choose accordingly.

So can the enemy. I hope that with development of the game each fraction will get more variable cards so there won't be simple counters.

I'm not confident with my idea, but i dont think its completly senseless

"Faction." I remember someone made a joke on that before, calling faction fractions. ;)

I also faintly recall somebody posted a similar idea a while back, just can't recall the thread title now. If someone else knows what I'm talking about, maybe they can find the thread for you.

Honestly, not knowing who you're up against and having to plan around that uncertainty adds to the challenge and makes the win more rewarding. It's part of the excitement and fun! With that said, I don't believe each faction can be so easily countered or only has one cookie cutter deck. That would be so depressing...

That was KBT in this post, when through the entire thread people called factions, fractions. http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threa...=1#post2784601

It's still funny.

I think we should call them fractions from now on. It seems to have caught on.

To explain myself from this mistake (because it was unfortunatelly me, who did that :( ) I wish to say that it is easier to overlook such a petite difference ("r") between word "faction" and "fraction" for people with polish language as native :)

Polish word for "faction" is "frakcja". This similarity has caused usage word "fraction" instead of "faction" in my post.

It is never late to learn ;)

Nah, no one is making fun of you. Don't feel bad. Mistakes happen and all that.

I still think that it would be hilarious if people continued to make that error and in return we all would call them "fractions". :)

It's great to learn how the Polish word is spelt but you don't really have to explain yourself per se. I just mentioned that as it came to mind when I saw the word "fraction" again, it wasn't even the gist of my post!
:surprised:
