Deadline has expired, all entries are collected and forwarded to the international jury members:Ifyara (Germany)Corylea (USA)Szypek (Poland)
Petra will announce the winners when the judging is complete, so this isn't that post -- sorry, folks.I thought I'd announce my criteria for judging, though, so that participants wouldn't just get a result with no understanding of how it was arrived at.Things I wanted to see in a Witcher Christmas contest entry:1. Considerable Witcher content2. Considerable Christmas content/theme/mood3. Signs that the artist spent some time and energy on the work4. Beauty and/or humor and/or thought-provokingness 5. Signs of the artist's own personality/style/worldview in the work

Will the judges correspond between themselves and pick a winner or does each judge pick what they like on their own?If on their own what if all 3 pick different winners? Who will decide?

We give points. You know - the better the work, the more points it gets. You know what comes next, don't you...? :)

It's a kind of ranking system.1st place = 3 points2nd place = 2 points3rd place = 1 pointI hope I can finish the contest this weekend and announce the 2 lucky winners on Sunday :)

After the Jury tells its own virdict, and the winners will be finally declared, any partecipant to the contest is officially invited to share his\her artwork in our Witcher DamNation.I've opened a specific folder for you, name "Christmas Contest 2010". Plz, submit your entries there. The folder is locked until the Jury have done judging and the winners declared.Warning: Artworks submitted randomly in the gallery before the final judgement will be rejected >:)^_^

Stop that!Your entry was wonderful, and I am grateful to you, for giving us something so interesting and well done to look at. Thanks to all the entrants, for sharing your work with us. It was interesting and enjoyable to look at them all.

Thanks for the great arts. Congratulations to MorganMerrimar and Soukyan d^^b Both entries are great. I am a bit late to express my appreciation due to some visitors in the house lately. Edit: Not that late, I checked now. I've been away from the forum for some time. I thought I was late :)

As promised here are the comments of the judges about the 2 winner works:Corylea on "Another of Dandelion's messes"
1. Many, many many Witcher elements are included in this picture. Usually, a picture would look too busy with so many elements in it, but it's customary for Christmas trees to be portrayed with a big, chaotic pile of gifts under them, so the hodgepodge of elements fits the theme. The artist managed to make a nice picture of Geralt while also giving us Zoltan, Shani, Triss, a drowner, the Witcher logo, a map of Vizima, several Witcher books, The Witcher 2, Geralt's bust from the Collector's Edition, a bottle of Temerian Rye, an array of sex cards, and more. Just astonishing!2. The joke of a blonde drowner as a gift from Dandelion, which Geralt objects to not because he's been given a DROWNER but because Dandelion knows that Geralt prefers brunettes. Cute, and fits in with Dandelion as we know him.3. Obviously, a huge amount of both thought and effort went into creating this picture. 4. Given all of that, it was the picture I enjoyed the most, it was the best fit for the criteria above, and it was the clear winner.

This work is tremendously detailed, but somehow I'm not much into it's graphical style. Everything seems so random in there (let's draw anything related to the Witcher), no generall idea spotted.
Corylea on "Iorveth wishes you"
Honorable mention to this work. showing a smiling Iorweth with white fur around his neckline and sleeves and a white fur ball on his cap. Nice manipulation of the original image, nice Christmasing-up of the grim and martial elf.
szypek26 on "Iorveth wishes you"
This one seems very 'light', is created in an interesting way and looks very tidy, however it's more like winter-art than Christmas, and generally this one required a lot less work than #1.

Chaotic or not, it's million times better than any of my drawings. I'm not even able to draw a straight line ;D

Congratulations to the winners, i wish there was a better quality image we can see without having to log in to websites.I am still trying to understand the meaning of the first price image but need a better quality.
