Has a bit of a Tim Burton vibe to me (which could make for fun crossover Witcher art). Or many, many sleepless nights. Nice art though and I did their take on the scar!

She's got a peculiar art style. Yes, the similarity with T. Burton is appropriate, all the characters in her art are dolls basically, more often with a sweet grim atmosphere. There are many artists that use this style and subject, even famous. It all comes from gothic lolita.

It's an original representation of the character even if you don't appreciate entirely. Personally I like her style. Not one of my favourite tho, but still impressive.

Something I always observe is the angle of the scar. In the fight she was face to face to Bonhart and to make a wound in that directionthe pose would be very natural if not impossible.

She didn't get scar from Bonhart, or sword. It was Stefan Skellen who maim Ciri and he did it with something like this:

Scar is described in detail in books. It starts under the ear and ends under the eye.

That throwing weapon is an Orion, a Nilfgaardian shuriken that whistles in the air when thrown.

Also...

For context, check here.

a laceration inflicted with considerable force by an unknown object, probably a curved blade. The wound begins under the eye
socket on the left cheek and runs through the temporal region towards the ear. The deepest
part of the wound, which reaches the periosteum, starts under the eye socket.

[Asheral and Brian's translation]

Indeed, that indicates a more or less horizontal wound, one not passing under the ear. To pass under the ear, it would have had to cross the jaw, not the temple. (In human anatomy, the ear canal is at the base of the temporal bone, behind the joint with the mandible and in front of the mastoid.)

And it would indeed have been inflicted by a light weapon; a well-struck sword blow would have smashed those delicate bones.

The picture posted last week by SMiki55 shows a scar that is faithful to that description, if perhaps still too low.

In original Polish text Sapkowski wrote "regionu przyuszniczo - żwaczowego", the translation is simplified and this part is replaced with "towards the ear". Polish original term sounds kinda odd even for native Polish speaker, 'cause it's medical archaism for a place where the parotid gland is located. So it doesn't suggest that scar is horizontal. "The horizontal" is simply (kinda) one of the options. Parotid gland is mostly under the ear, so in my interpretation it's supposed to starts there (under the ear).

@Nars Yes, that is very different from the fan translation; the Polish phrase is describing structures that are below the temple (the lower end of the temple is the zygomatic arch, the cheekbone) and consistent with a diagonal cut. Vysogota of Corvo, being long exiled from his fellow academics, would naturally use archaic language.

I see we understand each other.

Truth be told: she is a beautiful woman with or without costume.
But she really needs to eat... she has no waist anymore...

What took the wind from my sails a bit was that one day after I drew an Eredin helmet into the art,
they announced a new design for Eredin's helmet.

So I decided to delve into another Ciri project for now, but I'll eventually deliver that one too.

Did you just say... Eredin? I forgive you, take all the time you need.

This cosplay has great details in it, awesome outfit (leaving out those heels) BUT it's not Ciri, at least for me, I just can't see her in it.

That's exactly what I'll do, because next time they won't keep me out of that area at GamesCom.
All you need to get in is a VG blog and a certain number of views, which can easily be done by hiring a thousand visitors for a few bucks.

And if I had known earlier that Kinley's "Operation Garlic Cheetos" was a community interview,
I'd have been able to do just that before the deadline~
