Ciri female protagonist prequel to Witcher 3

Hi all,
First of all i cannot stress enough how exited i am for the new Witcher game to come early next year. I am a massive fan of the franchise.
Back to topic then. I would love to be able to play a prequel to 'Wild hunt' with Ciri being main character, explaining where she was and what she was doing with all the escapes she managed to pull off. I think that Ciri has a potential to be the best female protagonist in video game EVER! She has colorful character, very rich and detailed history, she kicks ass all the way as a warrior and wizard and has strong enough skill set to stand against henchman, monsters and powerful foes (bosses). Even if Witcher 3 will have content about Ciri's past i am more then confident that this wont be an issue because of how much attention and story there was in the Witcher's saga about her.
I am a bit tired now of male protagonist saving 'ladies in distress' all the time. I want something fresh, something new in a story and a character, and i think Ciri fits this purpose perfectly. Like i mentioned earlier in the Witcher books there was quite a lot about Ciri, she is second to Geralt most important character (some say that the books are really about her and not about him hehe) and it would be great loss to have all that chopped off from the Witcher game series.
If there is more people like me wanting that kind of game then lets try to pursue CDPRed to make it happen. :)

@S36a5t1an

CDPR will focus on other things after TW3, not in the Witcher world. They have been at it for 10 years now, and I think that they kind of deserve a break. If you like what CDPR does, check out Cyberpunk 2077, you will be surprised I think.

Ciri is definitely a very interesting character and a very favorite one. I think that when CDPR decided to go back into the Witcher world, Ciri is a very good candidate for being the main protagonist.

Oh and welcome to the forums. :)

I know that they are taking a break from the Witcher and i would not expect this to materialize any time soon.
Thanks for the welcome :)

You mean a Ciri prequel set during the 5 years between the saga and the games?

No a bad idea at all, but as @StaGiors said, CDPR will fully work with CP2077 after The Witcher 3 comes out. So, maybe we should wait a bit... :p

Whichever option suits CDPred best. I know that CDPred did not created the Witcher game based on events from the book but as stand alone new adventures. And i would leave that choice solely to them. I would be happy to play adventures from the book or as new adventures.

I completely support Ciri as a protagonist in a new Witcher game.

And I'm sure if CDPR decides to return to the series at some point in the future,
they'll definately consider having Ciri as a protagonist.

Or we'll even get a new Witcher and Ciri who we switch between during the chapters.

Only time will tell.
Luckily time is on Ciri's side.

New adventures would work better, they and we are getting complains about The Witcher series right now by some non-lore fans because there's not so much freedom with the character building (face and sexuality on top of that), imagine if they develop a role-playing game that entirely follows the events of the books...

No, no plis, no more sh*tstorms.

Ciri RPG would make a very interesting game with her ability to travel between worlds and if she regained her magic skills it would also add more variety to the skilltree.
I can see some people disliking having to play a female character, but I don't understand them nevertheless :p.

If you're tired of Damsel in Distress plots sthirtysix play the first Witcher game, Geralt gets saved three or four times by Triss.

Well I'd gladly play that game. Some parts with Mistle would make me even more interested. :) Sure that untold stories would be better for CDProject and us too, but imagine training at Kaer morhen, riding with Rats, figting Bonhart, escaping on the spiral...

Yes please, but without travels in our world. It felt immersion breaking for me in books, and I think in game it will feels the same.

Wiedźminland only! (I don't mind if there will be Isle of Avallach or Wild Hunt realm though)

I didn't like traveling between worlds too. That part of the last book was boring. But battle of Brenna saved it!

Imo it would give CDPR total freedom and if done right it would be very interesting to see.

IMHO I wouldn't give CDPR total freedome because I cannot give what they already have. I'm just dreaming as many of us ;) bear in mind that sometimes some dreams become reality

I think Ciri game is somewhere near the table. Propably in the drawer and quite deep, but how could they not be considering it? It is sooo far away that it is just a sweet dream and after Witcher 3, there is Cyberpunk coming and then maybe sequel to cyberpunk and other games. I won't be most probably playing Witcher 3 long time after release, cause I don't and won't have capable pc nor console. So for me, the wait won't end in February. But to be positive, maybe I will play W3 and CP2077 consecutively.

We shouldn't rule out possible expansions to TW3 either.
Like CDPR mentioned before, that is an option they'll investigate after the game is finished and released.
With the engine to support a vast world I see nothing wrong with expanding it~

A game with Ciri as protagonist is entirely possible, but faaaaaaar away.

I have a feeling that there will probably be a mission in TW3 where you play as Ciri. Remember what they did in TW2 with Iorveth, Roche, Henselt, Stennis and Auckes? They'll probably do something like that.

They did say they will do something like that for W3 as well, in some places. But they also said the amount of such playable scenes will be less than in W2.
