Ciri(Falka) and Mistle

I never liked their short relationship, it was always a forced one for me, like Ciri was rather with her than being raped by that other idiot, but that doesn't make it any better for me.

It's explicitly rape from what I could tell and then later Stockholm Syndrome.

The irony is that I think Mistle fell for her captive.

Which is the lesson common but still real Lima Syndrome.

Which just adds an extra layer of ****ed up to the whole thing.

The thing is, Mistle wasn't much older than Ciri and seemed to be projecting a lot of her own horrible past on Ciri.

She was as much a victim as anyone else and didn't realize she was perpetuating the cycle.

ngl i love bonhart
he was deliciously the opposite of Geralt

it was fantastic

i ship ciri x bonhart (not sexually or romantically, but that fucked up relationship they had was glorious)

anyway, in regards to Geralt stealing Ciri's thunder... I can see how you can feel that way about that whole sequence and yeah, you're right, it's a bit inconsistent. But when I first played through -- I saw it as Geralt taking revenge for Vesemir, his own father figure. Sure, Ciri had right to be sad over Vesemir's death as that whole sacrifice for her thing is very aggravating -- but I can also understand Geralt's judgement to personally want to see to the matter. Would he really be thinking more about Ciri's happiness if he was also mourning Vesemir too? He said he couldn't cry and then chose to have a show down with Imlerith himself -- to me that's his own decision making for himself. I dig the whole Ciri important decision thing, but it's pretty in character for the G-man to avenge his daddy-poo.

Also they played rock paper scissors, how can you argue over rock paper scissors.

I mean, y'all raise a good argument and I don't mind it potentially being altered etc. but in my headcanon it's Geralt having a fat cry for his dad and im ok with this.

I think there is no game in rpg genre that manage to make such great relationship between father and daughter. Ciri is simply the most important person in the game, both for Geralt and us, the players. As a book fan im super pleased with having so much dialogue and interaction between Ciri and Geralt. I love every single cutscene with her, specialy the reunion was done really well. CD Project Red, you made my proud. Yes, there are some things that are not so great. There is to little interaction between Yennefer and Ciri, not to mention Triss. Even with this small complain, im amazed how good CDPR made Ciri. She had some really hard times in the books, thats why im glad that finally her story ends well (both witcher and empress ending are for me good).

This is one of the rare cases that i, the player, actually cared really much about a video game character. Yes, it sounds strange, you can make fun of me if you want. I wanted Ciri to succeed in winning against the Wild Hunt. I wanted her story to end well. Maybe its the influence because of the books. I only know one thing, i enjoyed the entire content of Ciri in the game.

Just my 2 cents on the topic.

Completely agree, every second with Ciri was absolutley fantastic, I think they nailed her and her relationship with Geralt. CDPR did an amazing job of making you feel a real, human connection to her, and indeed all of the characters.

Honestly, my biggest regret is we didn't get enough time to get into Ciri's head to know how she's affected by events and only can guess at them versus talking about them. My interpretation is she's suicidal because of seven years of running, her past trauma with Cintra and the Rats, and the deaths of loved ones protecting her.

However, we don't get anything other than hints to that effect.

But, either way, she overcomes her fears to face down the White Frost. Whether she lives or dies depends strongly on whether Geralt has given her a reason to live.

I'm not a fan of their relationship either,i just really like this fan art ;D

I am only sad that the Witcher is a fantasy game and as such wont allow me to teach Bonhart how much my 5.45x39 likes him...

That demented mofo... he deserved an episode with Glokta. Not death...

Yeah that would make sense, except it was Ciri who decided there should be revenge. Geralt didn't even think about it.

I'm not disputing your point that Geralt had a very good reason to do it, but it meant more to Ciri, for her it was more than revenge, it was taking control of her own life, and her very first step in fighting the Wild Hunt back. The reversal of roles, a pivotal character development right there.

But I do take your argument as valid also, considering it's probably what CDPR went with as well. I'm just saying it would've been nice if players got to decide, maybe add a quick decision option on their third rock paper scissors, "let Ciri win" or "go for the win".

I mean, we obviously get to decide who Geralt romances, who he is friends with, and many other things that shouldn't be a choice, if we're following the book canon. Why take that choice away from us in a monumental decision time like this?

Geralt didn't even think about it.

but it meant more to Ciri

EHHHHHH you don't know that. Geralt doesn't generally talk about his feelings. I like the implications/indirect information -- in general, I feel like that scene was the right scene for that whole shebang. That felt reasonably in character to me. I, of course, completely understand that it probably doesn't make sense on the RPG side of things, since choices and whatnot are hugely important and kinda the point of this type of game. I'd say -- I'm personally ok with this scenario and don't mind if it doesn't change, but I wouldn't complain if it was a choice. I completely understand it and it resonates with me as a moment for Geralt to say hey-- Vesemir meant a LOT to me too.

(I'd also be curious to see how the whole BAD ENDING SLAY FINAL CRONE thing could work implying that if you did get choices etc. Ciri would do in Imlerith and Geralt the Crones, but it'd have to be balanced with the whole "more positives than negatives" thing since you could hypothetically let Ciri VS Imlerith and still get a bad ending... etc.

it could be that this is why they made that canon...? anyway, speculation.)

Sorry for changing a topic, but I've got question.
When my brother took money from Emhyr for bringing him Ciri, later in the game, during a conversation including Ciri, she said something like this "It's a pity Emperor doesn't have another daughter" referring to taking money. But I don't know exactly when she says that. I thought it might have been during "Payback" quest when talking to Aegar about horses (money topic), but it didn't show up. Does anyone know when this dialogue occur?

I like this little Ciri pics and videos trend going on. I'll join you guys with a gif I've found online, and thought it's fitting with this quote of her from the books:

"But I want to be called Cirilla of Vengerberg, daughter of Yennefer."

Especially that little frown at the end, daring the world to challenge her proclamation.
