Ciri's Gameplay on The Witcher 3

+
Hello guys,

I was wondering what you felt about gameplay of Ciri in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I love playing with her and I feel that is very satisfying to let her dash and unleashing the slow motion "time and space" attack that she does, it is absolutely insane visually and peak gameplay. I also like how her quick and strong attack are a bit more elegant than Geralt's.

Looking at her medallion, I can feel a bit of similarity with the one for the New Witcher Saga... I would love that Witcher 4 would tell Ciri's story.

What about you? Can you guys tell me if you would like to see her on Witcher 4 or in a spin-off Witcher game?

Hey,
I didn't like some of the sequences, like the "wolf king" and "baron race" quests, because I found them to be very linear and contain very little gameplay.

It's the same with her combat sequences - she's not supposed to be a full-fledged playable character, having access to the full open world, so the corridors she walks in are always locked and limited. It's a shame if you ask me, although I think it goes well with the sequences being short memories or pre-takes to set up Geralt showing up.

About Witcher 4, I think the game can be done well with or without her. I think it depends on the design, e.g. if the game will be about time-space stuff, her bloodline, family, Emhyr, Geralt, saving the world, White Frost,...then it would make sense for her to appear, but not so much otherwise. It was the same with CP77 - players were hoping to have some minor quest with her in the time when she was traveling through many worlds.

Maybe she doesn't have to be included in the first two games of the trilogy, and only in the third one shown as an old and wise queen...? Or perhaps there can be a minor quest with her as a free DLC (same as those 16 free DLCs for Witcher 3)? And what about other important characters like Yennefer, Triss, Lambert, Eskel, Dandelion,...?

Yeah, some sequences were made to just really convey the story but in general I loved her gameplay even though I fully agree with you that if they made Witcher 4 with Ciri as a protagonist, they had to make sure that it had to be related with her bloodline or link to an element to make it coherent.

I wouldn't mind a free DLC for her too since it's my favorite character and every now and then when I get the chance, I love to have her on screen or play as Ciri. What would you like to see on Witcher 4?

I like Ciri, such a great character but I didn't really like playing her... Quite "boring" game sequences in my opinion. It wouldn't have bothered me at all (even would have preferred) if all of Ciri's sequences weren't playable and only cinematics :(

I don't know :) Witcher 3 was excellent in many ways - I like how everything in the world is believable in its place and time, known by other inhabitants,... - so maybe just better inventory management (remove junk items, simpler crafting somehow,...), maybe remove the main "character menu" (the one with items like "map", "character", "quests",...) and make the game directly open e.g. the character tab.

Or perhaps the individual games to be installable as one - meaning as the second and third games are released, they could be installed into the same directory and they would "see" each other, so the game would allow to play the whole story in one go without switching to the other games...? Also, it would work well with saves - seamlessly transition from one game to the other, be able to load older saves from previous games,...?

Playing as Ciri were some of my absolute favorite moments in The Witcher 3, I definitely wouldn't say no to an entire game with her as the sole playable character. Female warriors are awesome. I don't care that she's not a true Witcher because she couldn't undergo the Trial of the Grasses, I just want a sword-wielding female character.

But it is said that the School of the Cat recruited women and non-humans, so even if it's not Ciri, a female Witcher would still be possible...

Hey,
I watched this video:
, and indeed, what's interesting is that Polaris translates to Northern Star and that North is where lynxes live in the real world.

Supposedly, there's no school of the lynx mentioned in the books, so I guess that the medallion is one of a kind and may belong to some witcher rogue, wannabe, or be a memento,...That may be why it was shown in the released picture, to highlight its uniqueness.

I also loved to see Female Witchers on Witcher 4, there's something interesting about them, also I love the fact that Ciri had a different approach of combat due to her Time and Space powers and only had 1 sword to fight the enemies.

I love Ciri, she's damn amazing.

Very interesting video, I loved how he goes about the different possibilities, thank you so much for this!

I can't wait to see more people expanding on what are the possibilities for Wicher 4, it's so exciting.
