Yeah, the rapid tapping causes Geralt to switch styles and motions so fast, that the game tries to calculate all his attacks at once. They STACK! You dont even see Geralt attack, and then suddenly everything turns into a pile of corpses.

The combat structure of this game is nothing short of breathtaking. It's no longer, I hit, bang, your turn now. It's great, you don't have to be so up high to put up a good fight. In the shot-for-shot style, you're only as good your health and attack strenght. The Pioneer? Secret of Mana for SNES.Here, you get good, you're set. Just make sure you constantly adjust your battle styles. I always start off with fast. Seems like it's what most monsters are thrown at you. It's also a good start to switch to any play style. Damage will be limited on a strong enemy but the one-second stun effect gives a good start to hit it strong. For group, they seldomly all attack at once. Group is good for any kind of group, strong or fast. Takes more hits to take them down but you will likely take less damage as well. The ride is much more fun too :p

When Geralt's fighting abilities are well advanced he can fight several strong enemies with group style. But when he is quite a young Witcher I wouldn't advise him to fight strong enemies with group style, e.g. this group of aghouls, ghouls (I think one graveir as well) which appear at night in the Vizima swamp at one of the collapsed towers.

Definitly an exploit and one I wouldn't use since as you say it decreases the fun factor mightily...

I'm playing on OTS mode, has anyone used the spam fighting method? Or is this a bug?I tap the Z X C keys rapidly while simultaneously double clicking, suddenly the entire crowd of monsters in front of me just drop to zero health. It seems if you do this right, Geralt will just twitch and you'll hear the switch style 'clang' beating out like a piano rhythm. I've not put any more than bronze into fast / group style silver nor fast / group steel and everything in front of me dies when I'm surrounded by a hoard. It worked through out the whole game, and pretty much ruined my experience of combat (just run through an entire map, gather all the monsters and put your back to a wall). Again, rapid hit ZXC and left click, Everything again, drops dead. At later levels I just downed thunderbolt, wolf and wolverine. within a few key taps, everything collapsed.Knowing this was the easy way, I just invested in heavy style for bosses or single tough monsters. ???

Hello everyone!I just got the game and it's excellent, however I have a quick question about the combat. The game tells you that you can dodge attacks in the isometric mode by double-clicking in a direction beside Geralt. This holds true for jumping over a foe, but otherwise, I can't seem to get it to work. For example, when you're in "Fast mode" and dodge by double-tapping one of the WASD keys, Geralt performs a nifty somersaultish move, which works in every direction. This seems impossible to do in the isometric mode.Instead, he just makes a lackluster little jump into a direction, but it's nothing like the WASD thing. Is this intended behaviour, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

In isometric mode, you need to double-click at exactly the right distance to get Geralt to jump there; too close or too far can result in Geralt's doing either nothing at all or moving in the normal way.The double-clicking maneuver is for getting Geralt out of the middle of a pack of enemies. If all you want him to do is to dodge attacks, he does that on his own; you don't need to force it. If you have the floaty messages on, you'll see "DODGE" float up every once in awhile. How often and how well he dodges depend on which talents you have -- there are a number of different upgrades on the Dexterity menu that increase Geralt's ability to dodge.

Dodge (and parry) a passive abilities. Various skills and critical effects influence them. When RoTWW was in the works (sounds strange) the player could decide when and how to use these defensive abilities. Maybe we will have in TW2.
