Thanks for your feedback (and effort)What means fixed? Is there a new build available or - if not - when can we expect it?

whenever i want to save a script (either to the module or to data), d´jinni crashes.until now my workaround was, to restore the file, save module, close module, open module.allthough i´m a complete noob, i´m quite sure, d´jinni should not do so. :-\are there any suggestions what the problem could be ?

I have installed and re-installed Djinni several times and keep getting the same error message. "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is inncorrect." I've pretty much given up on ever learning this application.

4.) Crash/Usability: Deleting characters/placeables/effects in the cutscene editor almost always leads to a crash. Furthermore it's not possible to delete any object if you click on the object in the object list ("Cutscene Objects" on the left side) You have to to select any object you want to delete in the 3D environment which can be a) pretty tedious (if you don't remember where exactly you put it) and is b) completely not user-friendly.5.) I have the impression (so I don't know this for sure) that if you save a cutscene (Ctrl + S) but don't save the module (Shift + Ctrl + S) and djinni crashes, all your changes to the cutscene will be lost. And why do you differentiate between these 2 modes anyway? Shouldn't Ctrl + S just save all changes?6.) Crash: Stopping the game (via the menu or by hitting Shift + F5) crashes the editor in - let's say - 4 out of 5 cases.

I would like to point out that, though these may in fact be bugs, none of the members of REDFlame have been able to create these same crashes and errors. At most, we have had occasional crashes in Djinni from regular use after testing an area many times, and we get a crash after we have exited Djinni (which honestly doesn't bother us at all). It could be an issue with your system or The Witcher. Not doubting that the problems can exist, but with 40 folks, we've yet to recreate the crashes. Specifically with Crash #6, we have loaded and unloaded our modules into the game through Djinni countless times without crashes ever. And with the remaining crashes pertaining to cutscenes, not many problems there at all in all areas beyond the complexity of making one.I would personally try uninstalling and reinstalling The Witcher and Djinni, patching to 1.3, and seeing if these same problems exist. Particularly, I'd run CCleaner and RegScrubXP (if XP), and JKDefrag while in safe mode prior to reinstallling everything. This has solved the only problems our team has had with just crashing on Djinni load everytime, or errors loading areas where they turn up black or give a "save game file missing" error. We will continue to try and recreate these problems, and we will add problems we run into, to this thread. :)

Thank You Vaernus, You're writing my words :)Djinni Cutscene Editor may be unstable in some system configuration, but not SO unstable. Kittylea, Try unnistal editor, game, delete all game folders and clean the registry (editor and game keys).

it´s absolute understandable that endrek defends d´jinni-baby and vaernus the 40 pcs of his team. :p so there is no need to justify.but fact is, that it´s getting more and more silent in all d´jinni-threads. and i don´t think it´s because they are all busy modding in d´jinni.but back to my problem being unable to save neverwinter night scripts without crashing d´jinni.today i followed all the above mentioned suggestions. i uninstalled game, patch and d´jinni, used the registry cleaning tool, deleted all d´jinni files in the registry by hand, used the defrag tool and reinstalled everything. --> same problem. i can´t save a .nss file without crash.allthough i´m in a weak position being the only one having this problem, maybe you could meditate on this . thank you ! :)

Hmm...send me that "crashing" scripts and write everything what you're doing before the crash and after run djinni. We must talk about this problem ;)

thank you very much for your offer.the present situation is, that i installed game, patch and d´jinni on my notebook yesterday, and there everything works fine. ;Dso i don´t think it makes sense to send you any scripts.the crashsituation was as follows:- i wrote or loaded and changed a script and when i tried to save it either to module or to data, d´jinni crashed.- then i closed d´jinni with strg, alt, del, reopened, and answered the restore question with "yes".- now i had all files in the module double. when i deleted one of the double entries, the entry left couldn´t be opened again. (spawnpoints, scripts, etc.)- that´s why after restoring i saved the module, closed and reopend it again. the double entries were gone, and even the changed script was being saved.so far so good, that was my nerve-wracking workaround. ;)the funny thing is, what i recognized yesterday on my working notebook, that after saving a script, d´jinni creates the folders "neverwinter compiled scripts" and "nwscript debug information" in the module, what the editor on my pc never did.and i guess that is the reason, why a nw-script never really worked on my pc. if it workes on my notebook i will try out today. ;)if you have spare time or interest to do some internal research regarding bugfinding, just let me know what data you need about my pc.greetings, Gutemine :)

After a D'Jinni crash, I have duplicate entries in the Module Explorer under Character Templates and Quest Definitions. Is it safe to ignore these, or should I delete the duplicates?

the best is to save the module after restore, then close the module and reopen it. then the the double entries are gone.

Most of the time when I close down Djinni successfully it will give an error message regardless, saying that it encountered an unspecified error. It doesn't seem to corrupt anything though.I'm on WinXP SP3 btw.

I get this, and several others do, as well."Error on closing: cannot close, must close due to unspecified error"Now, this does make me smile in its syntax. Ranks up there with:"Unaccounted I/O error (mouse), click cancel to ignore""General Keyboard Error: not found, press any key to continue""Connection terminated unexpectedly, error submitting connection termination report online, press any key to re-submit"... stuff like that :)

Sorry, guys, but this is a new, verified bug. I got the Widow to go through it on her system just to check it wasn't a glitch on mine...Open Djinni. Open a module. Create a new cut-scene, and open it in the cut-scene editor. In the panel entitled cut-scene opbjects, right click on 'Cutscene' and select the last item on the menu, 'Animation Sets'. Bang! D'Jinni goes down hard - and it happens every time, so you cannot access the 'Animation Set' functionality at all. However, no data appears to be lost, so full credit to you guys for that!My installation is patched to 1.3, and the D'Jinni version number is 1.3.0.1198

I have a somewhat strange bug:When i run my module in the editor, everything runs fine and i can talk to the NPC's I assigned a dialogue to. But when i start the game the normal way and when i start the module then, I can't talk to them. I click on them, the monitor becomes black and normal again and nothing happens. Very weird....Any ideas?

Hi,I have a problem i have'nt seen on this topic yet. After launching djinni, i have the main frame : menu bar on the top, debug frame (?) on the bottom and the official site appearing in the middle. 'till there, nothing anormal. But when i click on a button of the menu bar (sush as tools, file, module or anything else) , the frame just dissapears and the program is closed without even a windows warning!!! I have no idea what's the problem is. I'm on windows xp (family?) and I've tryed to re install the whole game serveral times (it takes at least 4hours of installation each time for the enchanced patch). I've also tryed to uninstall only djinny but then, when i launched the game, in the main menu for example, i have no text at all. "new game, quit, load game" all those text has dissapeared. I would need some help, any idea where it comes from? Sorry for my bad english and my rudeness^^.

I Hope You installed The Witcher 1.0 and the EE patch (with all features) and nothing else (no need to install 1.3 patch or djinni, all you need is in the twee upgrade) ? :) This should works.

hello, I've followed the instructions on the site by downloading the twee patch and the language package. I've re installed the 1.0 version of the game et launched the update program. But, before, ii've also downloaded some optional content such as "side effects" and the djinni editor and put it in the same directory than the patch and the language pack. When i used the twee upgrade program, it has installed it all : Djinni and side effects. I was surprise myself. Could the problem comes from there? Should i have put the files elsewhere and install them seperatly?
