Companion/follower

+
I feel like this game would improve and feel more immersive if we have the option of having a follower while free roaming.
Having current companions even just romanced companion be available as followers would be great. It’d be like having someone to show the apartments to, the cars and going on random gigs with.
the cars and apartments feel really empty at times.

Yes but not necessarily a human follower - how about a PET (like a dog) or something ROBOTIC like a flying drone that be summoned to assist in combat or help find hidden clues?

Honestly I wish they never put the romance stuff there. Feels like something they threw in at the last minute. Besides you already got Divinity or Mass Effect if you're into that kind of stuff.

They're optional, meaning you can choose not to do them. Kind of a dick move to want to take that option away from those who like having romance in their RPGs. That said, CDPR could have learned a thing or two from Mass Effect and Dragon Age's romance systems.

Sorry. Didn't mean to come across as a dick. I'm not against romances. I'm against half-assed features. And it feels like romance was something CDPR threw in at the last minute to check boxes. Dragon Age is a franchise that gets it right. In Cyberpunk you'll know a character for all of two minutes then they'll want to bang you and start dating. River's is the worst offender. Him and V develop almost no chemistry or connection, yet they clearly tried to push V into a relationship with him.

Ah. Ok, misread the tone. Basically, I have a feeling they spent the majority of the budget on Panam's romance, maybe even Judy's. River and Kerry's romances were done dirty. No buildup, not a lot of flirting and once the romance is locked in, very little afterward except a few cute texts. They really should have treated them all equally and had more for them after the romance is locked in. More dialogue would have been nice. If we're lucky, maybe the next patch will add something. Heard that they are putting some romance content into Phantom Liberty, though no details beyond that.

What I am really missing is continuation after the romance concluded.

I mean, they did take some steps there with the text messages. So the romance does not practically end after you had sex. And that was often the case in many games across the board that had romances.

So i do like the basic idea here. Yet, it feels a bit unfinished. I romanced Judy, went though a lot of bad things with her, and confessed I am probably dying and to, maybe, save my life, I have to go through even more shit and incredibly dangerous situations - with uncertain outcome.

It would feel natural to get calls or messages from her asking how I am, if I am still safe, how my illness if progressing and so forth. Or be able to meet her and talk to her about V's anxiety of dying. Basically all that very personal and deeply emotional conversations you (can) have with Johnny Silverhand throughout the game.

I know it's also a cost issue. This kind of content would require extra scenes, voice actors and in the end - money - for content that not everyone will even want, and that is more "flair" than directly contributing to the core gameplay. So I can see why they didn't do that.

Still, I'd like if they find a middle ground to add some of that feel of having a person close and important to you at a reasonable price. However that might be realized in the game (cause I have no idea).

And on an unrelated site note: I'd love the option to tell River I am gay. It felt really awkward to finish his quest and endure his advances and not being able to tell him:

1. I do have a girlfrind

2. I sorry, you're a nice guy, but I am not into guys.

I know you can turn him down in the end - but it would love the option to be nice, friendly and helpful to him, and conclude his story, and yet let him know early on and avoid this "flirt" that I know but cannot tell him leads nowhere.

YES, I miss it a lot, I use a the appearance mod for that but the NPC stills silent all the time, it is boring. I would love to have Companions like skyrim or fallout.
