Comparing betweeen W1 and W2

What did you find in W1 that is better than in W2 and the opposite?

I noticed many gamers believe that combat in W2 is not at all as good as W1! I totally disagree. In the witcher 2 you trick your oponnents and role behind them for a critical hit. You can throw bombs, arm traps, and use complex tactics to take down enemies. I thought the story was good in both W1 and W2. But I liked the characters in W2 more. I still dream of the day Roche, Iorveth and Geralt fight alongside each other (Imagine That)!! :p I think the alchemy was alot better in W1, and it was fun. I literally never used Alchemy in the Witcher 2: Dark mode. Ofcourse the boss fights were a little better in W2.

I really miss C&C in W1

"The Witcher hides consequences inside split second decisions about things that don’t look like game-changing moments. You just act, distracted by these big, grandiose moments where you’re forced to pick one side or the other, while all the time you’re making these small, minute to minute decisions that you’d think were just part of playing the game, but are actually causing ripples that, somewhere down the line, are going to become a tidal wave that you’re definitely not ready for." - http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/05/04/how-the-witcher-dealt-with-choice/ .

Remember how good this moment felt!? Just because you had a conversation with a gardener outside the church about tsetse flies! Brilliant!

Remember how Letho...really sucks at finishing off elves[Ciaran,Ceadric and the Elven Prisoner in the Kaedweni camp]. If Ciaran died the entire story would've been a whole lot different.

I want that to extend to our own choice and consequence in the next CDPR games.

CONTAINS SPOILERS
Definitely the combat system is way better in W2. It actually requires a lot of skill and timing. Don't understand me wrong but in TW1 the only timing you ever needed was to hit your combos but in W2 the movement is also part of the puzzle!
DEM BOSSFIGHTS - Are epic. TW2 gives the best feeling about a bossfight that I could ever feel (in all games). You really feel like an ant against the big, scary boss.
The story length is also very good. It's not as long as TW1's but it's understandable since the game levels, characters and etc. require way more time to get done to the high standard of TW2. If we wanted more plot, it definitely wouldn't be of the same lvl of quality TW2 as we know, offered.
The story itself could've been longer in the start. We jumped too fast on the "guilty" witcher part. I think that more time with Foltest before his death, could've made the moment of his death a truly memorable moment for every TW fan. The other parts were also good, I can't say CDProjekt RED didn't do their best! I only wish that Iorveth's side in last chapter was longer because compared to Roche's - it's really short.
Alchemy - isn't really bad. Yeah, they introduced something really new, like opposite of what we had in TW1 (when to drink potions) but it isn't really bad. The TW2's way of alchemy forces the player to rely on potions more because he doesn't know what might show up in the next corner/bush while in TW1 you can always try to be clever and use potions when you see your enemy coming to you. I believe in CDProjekt RED and their decision-making. They'll think of something even better in TW3
Characters - not as many as in TW1 but I said the reasons why it is so in the story part. I really like.... LOVE, the new design of fantastic four (geralt, triss, dandelion and zoltan), good old Foltest, new characters and monsters!
