To think that I've actually had a quite slow and boring weekend, several times cruising on and off this forum and completely missing this...storm. Because a storm it was, 30 pages of posts in less than three days. It has subsided now obviously.
Now I've gone through all pages in this thread and to sum it up: I was amused.
I can understand that some are concerned, they have the right to be. But to face this...rumour, valid points have been posted several times, and I'm currently at peace and not at all worked up or concerned about game quality. In fact, consider me giddy.
Because the really funny thing is that I spoke to my friend the other day...let's just call him 'my source' (

)...and he had the privilege to actually play Witcher 3(current state of it) in his line of work. He was away and played several coming titles in fact.
Now, I'm not here to convince anyone...nor will I try to. And whether you believe me or what I say, I know I believe and trust my friend.
Even though he was allowed to play several games before and after playing Witcher 3, he said, and I quote: "There was nothing in comparison after playing Witcher 3." As in he was very much impressed by it and had so much fun playing it no other game grabbed hold of him like Witcher 3 did.
Now, I know my friend's job is to sell games but he is also very honest. This is the same friend that played Watch Dogs on console and called it embarrassing, as it "lagged horribly" back in the day. Don't remember where but I posted something about it.
And true enough, the Watch Dogs release date was suddenly pushed into 2014. Not because of his comment of course, but because more work was needed on the game. But Watch Dogs came out eventually, and I bought it as I'd set out to do despite his comments and I'm happy with it.
Regarding Witcher 3 I have no doubt that when it will be released, and no matter what state it will be in, I'm counting on the devs doing what they do best, and have been doing with previous games: Great post-release work if(!) needed with updates and fixes that eventually lead to an Enhanced Edition. An edition with extra content completely free of charge if you already bought the game. Now, even if(!) there won't be any Enhanced edition the third time around, there's still the previous two enhanced editions. How many developers do that today? Seriously?
Not for all the money in the world, or of hearing any rumour about the state of Witcher 3, will I cancel my preorder of Witcher 3 collector's edition. I owe the devs that much faith considering how pampered I've been with with the superb quality of Witcher 1 and 2. ^_^
Of course, to each his own, and if anyone has any doubt then I'm sure the devs will eventually snuff all doubt out with the coming of the game.
I say go devs! You're doing great! :respect:
