I've noticed in a few areas (especially in Watson) there are 'odd things' that are related or unrelated to things in the story. For example the NCPD is blockading a factory area where factory workers are protesting outside. This is part of a mission (seemingly) where just next door there are Maelstrom and Militech factions doing 'things' that are NCPD crime related.

If these threads were somehow connected it would be great as a player to see these threads connect. -w

There are little nuggets of things going on, but ultimately they end up feeling like filler.

The gigs and side quests and their branching and expanding based on earlier gigs starts to do some interesting things - and whilst I haven't explored all of them and different outcomes - there might yet be some interesting discoveries to be made in player choices.

But yeah - 100% - everything feels too isolated from one another.

There are some odd things in Watson early game, like an AV crashed without a decent story.

Plus a bunch of Militech and Maelstrom parties nearby that are seemingly part of the story.

It's tough tying the threads together as a storyteller for sure, and I can always create my own narrative.

What I think is curious though is what motivates the gangs.

If each gang had purpose, and some of them competing purposes I would feel even more engaged.

So for example: If Maelstrom and Militech are both interested in developing cyber-tech using 'out there' research, they would naturally be at odds. The side quests and filler objectives could weave together and explain why they are always nearby in the same place.

Another good example of opposing factions might be 6th Street and VoodooBoys. Since they are clearly based on nationalist pride and a sense of 'righteousness' they would be at odds in a blood-feud way. Seeing these two factions near each other and constantly swapping bullets (and bodies) would explain some of the gang activity in the regions they occupy. (and the lack of police too).
