Constantly crashing whilst fighting maxtac.

+
I'm over 1400hrs played without issues on vanilla i can fight maxtac endlessly without a problem.
Modded though seems to cause a crash within about half an hour consistently.
Does anyone else have this issue and/or know how to fix it?
I've tried clean driver reinstalls, Clean game installs, Removing most mods, buying a new pc, updating bios, clocking ram, deleting inputloader.ini, verifying integrity, turned off ray and path tracing, limited fps with V-sync on... basically everything you see in most posts about this issue.

PC Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 8400F
32 GB RAM 5600MHz
5060 TI 16GB
2TB NVME M.2 6000MB/s read, 5000MB/s write

This is my what my stacktrace.txt says:
Error reason: Unhandled exception

Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)

Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

File: <Unknown>(0)

Or it says this:

Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)

Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0x2260E9A8084.

I did follow the steps in the guide.
I have bought an entirely new pc which you can see the specs of and on a clean install of cyberpunk without mods on the first day i owned it, i still got crashes.
I even did it all again today and played the game on a clean install without mods and the issue persisted.
Also tried a completely new save today and it still occured.

Did you double check on the mods probably one of them might have contain a virus that is stopping you sometimes it happens

If it's not a mod issue, which is likely, you may have hit the maximum file size for your saved game under that playthrough. How big is the latest saved game?

I've deleted that save a while ago.
All save games i still have are within 7.7-7.9mb

You're right at the edge. While the size can exceed 8mb, it's prone to issues if your inventory is full and/or you have a lot of crafted items in inventory. The issue (potentially) is the 1,400 hours on the single character. Bloat may be a factor.

Although that's only a maybe. Since you've used mods, it could be a mod issue. Even if mods were removed, that could have caused the issue, as the reference data cannot be removed from a saved game file, even if the mods are not presently installed.

If you are trying to solve it, you'll need to systematically start excluding issues:
1.) Mods. It's almost always down to mods if mods were ever used. If you know you have a recent, 100% vanilla saved game -- meaning it has never been modded at any point in the past -- you can try playing for a few hours on that one to test. If it runs without crashing, then you likely have your answer. (I would start here, as this is the easiest thing to test. Solid play for 3 consecutive hours = you likely have a mod problem.)
Further explanation, since I know this is confusing to many players. Once I activate a mod and save my game with that mod running, my game is FOREVER modded. There will be reference data in the save file that points to that mod, and there's no way to remove that data. Even if I uninstall the mod and completely reinstall the game, the save file is still the same. It contains modded data and will for all time.

The only way a save file can be 100% vanilla is if I have never, not once at any point in the past, ever modded the game. Using mods, saving the game, then removing the mods and creating a new save DOES NOT remove the reference data.

If I happen to remove mods mid-playthrough, this is often what causes the problem. The game wants to load the mod data when I load a saved game, but the mod isn't there. So, the reference data in the save file now points to nothing. It's essentially a hole, and that can create all sorts of issues.

Lastly, it's not guaranteed to cause a problem. Certain mods may be so light that installing/uninstalling them is fine. Other, seemingly tiny, totally harmless mods can brick your entire save file if removed. Sometimes it depends on which mods were used at the same time, creating issues unique for that mod library.

Simplest way to say it: if you use a mod, that whole playthrough is "modded" from that point onward. To get back to a "vanilla" save, you need to revert to a save file before the first mod was ever used, or you need to begin a completely new game in a blank save game slot.

2.) Save game bloat causing inventory corruption. This will be potentially worse if you've crafted a lot of items. Dumping inventory, breaking down or selling unused items, etc. may fix it. (If this is the case, you'll also likely see slow inventory response time: hangs/stutters a bit when opening inventory, takes a long time to load icons for items, scrolling is not smooth, etc. All of that would be indicative of a bloat problem.)

Do you think the mods have so many like data that it has a lot of stuff that can do in the mods?

Or the system is detecting the number that is not real?

Depends on the mod, how it was made, how it will interact with other mods, etc. There's no such thing as, "This mod will not permanently affect your game in any way." (Well, technically, there is, but many mod authors, themselves, don't know exactly where the line is for a given game. Hence, it's best to assume any mod is going to permanently affect the save state.)

Or the system is detecting the number that is not real?
Not exactly. It will eventually run out of place values to define an element of the item. The more complex the item (extra powers, stats, abilities, etc.) the quicker it will run out of values by saving and reloading.

Did you update the latest amd chipset driver? I updated and game is not playable and it doesnt let me to rollback. I will reset the windows if i find a time later. (problematic one is 8.01.20.513 the one that i like was 7.11.26.2142) Latest adrenalin is really good too it solved my crash problems. Cyberpunk crashing randomly on previous version.

I only have 230 hours on this character and my inventory consists of 12 items *.*
i have 1481 hrs total across all my characters. I should have specified that and i apologise.
I will attempt a clean non modded playthrough. As much as i would like to use mods considering i've done non modded playthroughs to death at this point, i guess its my only option at this point :/

I did but there was no difference in crashes before or after doing so.

Okay, so this is 230 hours using mods. I would say that's most likely to be a mod issue. I would ensure they're all up to date, then start reading through the descriptions and comments for each one to figure out if there are any synergy issues or known crashing.

Did you update the latest amd chipset driver?
I would recommend against this type of thing unless the issue is occurring in 100% vanilla and the following steps have been ruled out:
1.) Verification of all files
2.) Drivers updated/rolled back
3.) Microsoft Redistributeables fully updated/repaired
4.) Background processes (especially antivirus) accounted for/exceptions managed/disabled
5.) Individual HDD/SDD free space at 20% minimum
6.) Master file table checked/repaired
7.) RAM sectors checked/repaired

At that point I might consider BIOS/UEFI or firmware to be the issue.

ONE caveat here, though -- if your BIOS has been updated to account for the expiry of Windows certifications, which occurred back in the Windows Updates for January of this year (2026) and you are experiencing issues with multiple programs suddenly refusing to launch or crashing, you should flash the BIOS for that. Just be sure you have access to your BitLocker recovery keys before you do.

I've done everything there but step 6 i think. I dont know what Master file table is?
I spent weeks annoying mod authors and trawling through comments to see if anyone has this problem before i wrote here.

Probably not a factor, but worth doing if you've never run it before. Find the icon for Command Prompt, right click on it and select "Run as administrator," then type the following exactly:

sfc /scannow

(Note the space after "sfc.") This will start a scan of the entire file system on you PC. Do not interrupt this process for any reason. If it seems like it has stopped working, it has probably found some issues and is correcting them. Just let it finish, and I would recommend not running any programs or anything while it's happening. Usually, it takes about 5-10 minutes, but if there are any severe issues with any drives or data, it can take several hours. Just let it run its course.

Personally, I doubt it will find anything, but it's a good idea to run this once or twice a year, just for system health. If there were anything seriously wrong with the file table, you'd be seeing significant problems across the whole system. Your crashing in CP2077 is most likely due to a mod conflict of some sort.

I did as said and you were right, nothing seemed to crop up.

I went and started yet another playthrough and noticed that autosaves are around 7.5-7.9mb as we discussed before BUT manual saves are about 3.4-3.6mb. I re-installed all the same mods as before just to see if that made a difference to the manual saves but they stayed the same size.

I can't imagine it is anything other than a mod-related issue. Plus, for save files in a new game to be nearing the 8 MB mark from the start? That is strange. Likely indicative of a mod or combination of mods creating a bloating issue.

If you really want to figure it out, we have to exclude mods. In other words, it will require removal of all mods, backup of any saved games to a safe location, and a clean installation of the entire game. Then, beginning a new character (ensuring the save location is completely empty before launching the game for the first time,) which ensures the game is running in 100% vanilla conditions and the new save files that will be created are unaffected by prior mods. You should see very small file sizes at the beginning and experience no crashing.

^ If, at that point, huge file sizes or crashing continues, then it's clearly something on the system that isn't cooperating. CDPR Support can help with that.
