Or doing it like Bioware with their latest game and giving every single character in the world a short hairstyle. I don't think anybody would want this. I definitely prefer a bit of clipping over the alternatives

::mindblown:: You know, I actually never thought of that being the reason for that. Makes total sense now.

After watching the most recent gameplay I have to say I am very impressed. However I am a little bumbed out by the lack of gratuitous mutilation. I am hoping there is either an optional mode to turn it up, or a sword upgrade that will allow for mutilations to happen more often. Either way the closer this game is to Yojimbo the better.

Well the top picture is from witcher 2 utilizing props to produce the illusion of far off terrain. The lower one is from the some point in the witcher 3 alpha stage showing real faraway scenery. Completely incomparable for the most part, but hey if you think it proves anything be my guest to keep believing that.

Also, what's your constructive opinion? That is the topic, @eixen. Constructive means, to improve or create. You know, construct. So, suggestions?

OK, the long-drawing (the landscape) is badly in xbox one, totally justificated because is a console... i pass this in a console but not in the PC version
OK?
in a constructive opinion:
The landscape is good but i thing the longdrawing it could will be better... most sharp, clear-cut...

What i would like its the game to look sharper. Its a little blurry right now even in the uncompressed version. Maybe adjusting the sharpenning filter would fix this.

So you think the long distance rendering needs improvement? As it currently stands I am not sure myself; I will need to see the final foliage textures and other details before I decide if the draw distance looks the best it possibly could. Of course this will be completely adjustable on the PC version.

This is actually incorrect, the lower screenshot is taken from the latest gameplay video, which was shown at PAX 2015.

This is what said reprters from Gamestar magazine after playing W3, I hope that this is the right topic, since it is about gameplay. This informations are new to me, maybe some of you know it, but I will put it here just in case:

''Before we come to the weather report, a couple of technical details. We are playing The Witcher 3 on all three platforms, the PC, the PS4, as well as the Xbox One. The gaming computer is equipped with an Intel Core i7-4790, an ASRock Z97 motherboard, 8.0 gigabytes of RAM, a Geforce GTX 980 with 4.0 gigabytes video RAM, as well as an SSD drive. Thus, a high-end system, on which The Witcher 3 consistently runs fluently.
However, we are not allowed to switch into Ultra. The developer says the highest level will be optimized further but should run without problems on the same system''

More details about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from GameStar Magazine's Preview are listed below:

Breast physics
USK 18 rating (W2 got 16). They think due to graphic finishing moves.
260 designers worked on W3, compared to 5 in W2.
Save game import for PC only.
Can talk about important decisions from previous game with barber.
Played W3 on all 3 platforms. PC: i74790, ASRock Z97, 8 GB RAM, GTX 980 4 GB and a SSD.
Ultra setting still disabled. Not optimized yet. PC was set to high.
PC has better shaders, textures, more colorful and better AA compared to consoles.
Grass and similar detail pops in ~5m on consoles. Double that on PC.
PS4>X1. PS4 textures blurrier than PC high.
PS4 runs at 1080p/30FPS
XB1 runs at 900p/30FPS, slightly blurrier than PS4.
Still looks great on any platform.
German localization fine, but English has better characterization
Population doesn't react to theft at all (yet)
Impressively realistic weather effects, especially storms.
Gamepad controls only for now. M+K controls unfinished.
special modus like Batman
under water controls needs getting used to, with janky camera.
Opponent AI sometimes blacks out.
Fluid combat animations.
Counter timing is important.
meditation heals Geralt.
4 talent trees: Combat, Signs, Alchemy and General.
Igni can be upgraded to damage armor
Alternative mode upgrade for every sign,
E.g. all around shockwave for Agni, Ffame beam for Igni, Thought control for Axi.
Time slow upgrade for Alchemy
HP upgrade or faster healing under General
Limited slots for selected talents, including passives. From 3 to 12. Can mutate 3 of those.
Time limits for decision making (e.g 10 seconds to decide to take gold or not).

Interesting, some people thought that we will talk about previous decisions with dandelion but if I undrstand correctly it will be with the barber who shave Geralt's beard at the end of the january gameplay.

This is new to me. Very happy about it, because in such a game immersion is everything. See above :p

Here we go again. And come 19th May, there will be 7 keys you can't remap, the mouse will be accelerated, and the menus will have a completely different sensitivity than ingame mouse. It's all happened before.

That's not completely correct. Normal citizens don't react to theft at all. But guards do. If they catch you while stealing they attack you. If they manage to knock you down (they don't kill you, it's just like in the Gothic games I guess) you lose all your stolen money (and probably goods?).

So what exactly constitutes theft? Does looting a sack of goods in broad daylight count? I guess that's a good thing. I will no longer have to loot every single house at the beginning of every chapter, like in The Witcher 2. It adds to the immersion.

Is that confirmed? I know they said that about pulling out your sword in town and attacking citizens, I dont recall anything about theft.
