Controller layout needs revision

Cd Projekt Red. I'm sorry but the current controller layout is awful and should be revised.

I am currently using http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/50/? which gives insta-cast signs, makes it feel more like Dragon Age Inquisition's layout. This is a good fix for me on PC, but I feel sorry for the console crowd.

His images on his mod page aren't updated to the most recent revision but basically:

RT+X=Aard
RT+Y=Quen
RT+B=Igni
RT+A=Axii

...and so on. all cast instantly.

Get the devs to load up the mod and try it.

The use of a combo key for signs like that layout above would be very beneficial for Witcher 3 considering the amount of skills/items that are needed. The radial menu is not fun to use, always takes the player out of gameplay. Please consider a similar layout for the future.

PS - Great game.

Has nothing to do with W3. Goes with Skyrim, Fallout, etc etc. Console gamers will always be on the back end in terms of UI customization but they made that choice themselves in going that route.

I'm a console only gamer and I don't see what the problem it. Open the signs menu, choose which one to use, then cast it. Easy.

So...let me get this straight. When a battle calls for the use of multiple signs and you have to switch back and fourth constantly, you don't mind going into a radial menu EVERY time to switch signs and then cast it? This is how it goes now: open menu --> switch sign --> cast sign. With the above layout = single step process. Hit RT+X instant Aard. This just seems like common sense to go the single step.

Better for it to be fully customisable rather than have a set of presets.

This would be amazing. All we need is the OPTION to use L1 + the face buttons/R2 for our spells. If people like the radial menu thats fine, but this one change would seriously make the combat ridiculously more enjoyable for me.

Well, #1, I'm going to struggle in any battle that does that regardless. But #2, for me, yes, its easier. Trying to hit combinations of different buttons to do anything in video games has always been a challenge for me, going back to playing Street Fighter on the SNES. Hitting the L1 to open the menu and switch to a different sign is essentially the same thing as using a similar menu system to change guns in a game like GTA. Its something I'm used to, and it works for me. I'm very deliberate in my methods. Slow and careful, which means I need to be really well armored.
