Converting from vanilla to FCR

Hi everyone,

I have read that FCR mod requires you to restard the game. Unfortunately I am about ~25 hours into the game and I do not have the heart to start all over again, especially when I obsessively completed all the quests to be sure not to miss anything :)

My question is, has anyone found a way to convert efficiently from vanilla to FCR, using maybe quickly advancing cheat, respec mods or the such ? I wouldn't even mind to lose all my stuff actually because I imagine money is easy to cheat, I just want to get to the progression I am now.

yeah, vanilla is pretty awesome already but the mod looks really good :p

Actually could someone clarify, because someone on this forum said the mod would work fine with vanilla saves, but in the manual it says you must create a new game or talents would not work properly ?

When I last played it, it worked fine with an older savegame. However, the talents are very different in FCR, so even if it works (no promises, might not be since the latest update), you might find yourself lacking the skills you need to survive. But. If you've enjoyed the game so far, you might feel like most Witcher fans, who just itch to start over even before finishing the game, so you can play it differently than before (there's three distinct paths plus lots of smaller choices). So just finish your current playthrough in vanilla and start your next game with FCR. I'd always recommend to play it vanilla the first time, but also enjoy the FCR experience, as it is even better. Honestly. It's worth a second playthrough. Or a third...

FCR used to be compatible with vanilla saves but i haven`t tried the latest version but i assume it still would be . As a former FCR user i recommend vanilla for the first play as Delightful said the talents are very different and are distributed the same but need to be allocated differently . In other words you would need to allocate them in different skill sets . With FCR you can die pretty quickly ESPECIALLY if anything monster or man gets behind you and 1 hit kills you . Just trying to prepare you for what can happen if talents are distributed in the wrong manner or as in your case installing FCR in midgame .
