I've basically found every start option feels too short (or cut). Should be some life within the game as your choice before Jackie shows up. I said it elsewhere if I start as a Nomad why can I not do some roaming, drop in on a Clan that will speak to me (maybe).

Set up your connection with 'what or who you are' before you get drawn into the world of Jackie as even with my limited hours once you get to that point if feels sort of all the same. You could literally be any one of them but for me so far 'V' is the same person once you get into it.

The only thing that blew me up in corpo lifepath, beside it's lenght, is the fact that you can't kill/destroy Abernathy or Jenkins.

I never noticed but is there any difference in the choice you make at the beginning? When the guy by your desk asks if you should keep someone undercover or take him out? Forgot the names.

Ah, I think you're talking about the guy named Harry...mentions having an undercover agent at Biotechnica and how he's been phishing for dirt on them but can't find anything. So far, I haven't heard anything about what happens to that agent -- I had him pulled out because I was afraid he'd get blackmailed and would rat out company secrets (Harry said he'd "crack" since he had kids). Only side quest I got was running into my old Arasaka acquaintance Frank Nostra -- the guy who works for Abernathy in the prologue.

I liked the Nomad plot line with Panam. They even invite V back into the Nomad life after you have helped them.

Yup, it was stated in an interview sometime back that this game will be shorter in story lenght because ppl were (in CDPR's oppinion) angry that Witcher 3 was too long.

No idea where this genious opinion originated. But if they focused on shorter story it could have been more detailed not "Indie 5-man team project" level of unfinished late alpha build.

Are we really going to forget the atrocious pacing in the witcher 3? it was my main gripe with the game and the main reason why i didnt replay at as much as i wanted to ,i think my go to when it comes to length was Baldurs gate 2 where the main story is 20 hours but if you want to do everything you will take up to 60 hours ,i think they did the right thing when it comes to length even though i think the pacing is just way too fast at some point and i think they lied when they said its "slightly" shorter than the witcher 3

Looks like a lot of people are disappointed at how short the lifepaths are and want a more in-depth story. Listen to the narrator at the 9 minute, 20 second mark.

I mean in the intro to corpo V it makes sense that you are a really small fish at Arasaka still and just hanging in there by a thread: that makes sense.
But once your "street rep" or whatever is high and with the right people and decisions there should have been an option to work more closely with a corp in night city ... you know for "role-playing" reasons.

Yeah, I agree. One of the YouTube streamers named AngryJoe said in a video he could see that there was cut content particularly in the Corpo path because the whole thing between Jenkins and Abernathy wasn't mentioned again after the prologue.

There is a relevant side quest later in the game, much like there is one for the Nomad life path and Street Kid ones. Side quests that only exist for your life path.

In some side quests your life path factors in more as well, I particularly noticed this in pursuing the Nomad life path through the Panam side quests vs the Street Kid version of the same.

My first V was Corp. I was really looking forward to be a super slick POS who just crapped on everyone (hey, it's roleplaying!) I didn't really do a lot of pre-reading about the game, I just figured Corp char, Corp life, right?

Well like 10 min into the game I'm out of the corp and running street kid missions with Jackie (who I love, but he ain't no fit company for the kind of corporat I dreamed of being) so I restarted and made a streetkid char. Seemed like that's what the game was catering to. I mean they have the same apartments. Was I wrong?

I don't think the corpo V was a "small fish". You were considered right under jenkins, and it was clear that you were someone people reported to.

I believe the cut content and terrible lifepath aspect comes from the fact that they wanted to rush silverhand into the game. It makes no sense at all about how they set the "corpo life is cut throat tone" right off the bat, and literally force you to listen to jenkins.

I mean, this is a story driven game so I get it. However, it would have at least been nice to have an ending that allows us to return to that life. But instead, everything is depressing, except panam.

I really hope CDPR sees the potential, and don't attack me, in GTA'ing this game as time progresses. Can you imagine CDPR's story making skills, combined with GTA's outside of story level of content?
Fcking cha-ching, take my money. all of it

With that being said I read somewhere that it was mentioned they needed 4-5 more months with the game. Do you think that will be enough time to fix this? It feels kind of hollow sadly.

Depends on what exactly you're talking about. In 4-5 months I do see the game being more stable on at least ps4 pro's and above. Sadly, I simply don't think old base consoles have the hardware to ever run this game to expectations. I also see one DLC being released in that time frame. It really just depends on what their vision for the game is. "GTA'ing it" would take quite some time. I just hope whatever DLC they release has nothing to do with silverhand, and everything to do with V's freedom to make decisions.

The cynic in me would say CDPR could tell they wont have nearly enough time to implement all they originally imagined for the game, hence the "people complained about W3's length". But I really did see some people complain W3 having too much dialogue etc, which always caused severe facial pain for me on account of the multiple facepalms I would automatically do.

I know whenever I watch a really good movie or read a really good book, I always say to myself, "Man, I really wish there was less of this." And if they're not enjoying it, why keep playing at all, short or long? CDPR basically tailored their next game to the people who didn't really enjoy W3 that much. Here comes another facepalm...

I really think it has more to do with Silverhand being pushed in than people complaining about another game and type of game entirely. The centered it around him, and by doing so, a lot of other content got cut as it wouldn't make sense, or would take focus away from silverhand

What do you mean by "content"? Unique gear? Missions? Unique vehicles? NPC interaction? Technically the game has many of these things already
Well, there could be a lot. Unique abilities based on your life path for example.

Maybe corpo could scan people and get info about their status in society, bank account status etc. You could then use this info to blackmail people or force them to do your bidding. "So I see you've twenty grands eddies missing for your nice wheels and that suit. How about you do EXACTLY what I say and I can help you extend the payment time.. Or would you like the Company X loan sharks to pay you a visit?".
Could enter your corpo HQ and make decisions how to deal with people living in certain areas. Rise land taxes, ban or push certain goods. Maybe even implement corpo-competition and a threat of 5th corpo war between your rivals.

Street kid could utilize gangs to a high degree. You're the know-it-all city dweller after all. Join the ranks of NC gangs or just hire your fav one to wreck havoc for whatever reason. Gang wars would fit here naturally too, like corpo wars for corpo path. Just the emphasis would be more on ground level guns blazing whereas corpo would play the money/influence game first.
You could have unique abilities for combat, like special reflex boosters and/or ability to craft drugs or something. Things that would come to you naturally as you're fluent with the NC underworld.

Nomad could have natural toughness, maybe radiation mutation due to badlands? That, or affinity for Big Guns. Nomad-only rocket launchers, yessir! An easy fit would also be to call your nomad family buddies (yea I know you're supposed to be a loner) and nomad-specific family/clan disputes can also play a big role.

Stuff like this I just made up on the fly. So if someone would sit down with all the lore they have, I don't doubt they couldn't come up with all kinds of neat ideas. Problem ofc is that all those nice & cool things take time to implement. Time CDPR has to put into actual bug fixing for now.

Maybe DLCs down the line...

I kind of get the feeling they planned different lifepath main stories (maybe with shared secondary stories), and completed most of the 'streetkid' and a bit of the 'nomad' paths then ran out of time, and just combined what they had into a single lifepath, with flavoured intros.

Am I the only one that thinks the corpo lifepath is the coolest and most desired lifepath, while sucking the most?

I truly wish I could experience more of the corpo life instead of the merc life. In DLC, please give us the option to return to the corpo life.
I'm tired of being dragged through Johnny's indirect revenge story. I get he helped you market the game, but the mainstory was enough of that ty

There's so many angles to take.
We save/ help Hanako, she offers you a job.
You get on stouts good side/romance, she offers you a job
There's a netwatch application shard on your desk
Even maxtec would be cool

I started with the Nomad lifepath and later just tried the other ones, and it's very clear to me at least, that by far the most effort went into that one. The others are extremely short, which might be good or bad for replayability since these are obviously very scripted and not as exciting the second time around.
