Could bombs need rebalancing, or am I just doing it wrong?
It seems to me that bombs like Samum do almost nothing, while Dancing Star is useful against almost everything.
Dragon's Dream is also much too weak considering the criteria required to even trigger an explosion from it.
Devil's Puffball is alright I guess.
Northern Wind seems to work in some cases to allow you to position yourself behind your opponent, but as soon as you hit them the effect wears off.
Grapeshot is very powerful in the early levels, allowing you to basically one-shot bandits, but does negligible damage against monsters that are allegedly weak against it, with the superior version doing around 400 damage to a wyvern, which is about the same amount of damage I would do with one swing from my sword (and I'm still using a level 13 sword at level 25)
Samum is one of those bombs that is conceptually awesome, it's basically a flashbang grenade. One would think that enemies like the Cyclops or flying enemies would be very weak against it. The Bestiary claims that Fiends are weak against Samum, but in my experience it does pretty much nothing, their hypnotic gaze ability will be interrupted by ANY bomb, so one might as well set them on fire at the same time.
Against human opponents Samum will give 1 free hit, but they snap out of their blinded status as soon as they take damage.
An Idea would be to make human opponents flail wildly around them while blinded, hurting their buddies.
Soooo, am I right in saying that certain bombs could use some buffing, or have I just not noticed certain very specific additional effects? Because after some experimenting I've basically just decided to only use Dancing Star and Devil's Puffball with the occasional Moon Dust for very specific enemies, as using anything else feels like a waste of time.
