You know, for all the whacky, stupid, and sometimes cool things posted in this thread, I hope normal isn't overlooked...

CP2020 already has that for both wearable clothes, gauntlets and the Gang Jazzler cyberhand augmentation. It does make melee all kinds of fun.

I hope also in some nice dressing...... Playing a beautifull and deadly sneaky corporate in elegant dress and a good pair of shoes with a high heel...

Yeah, I'd like that too. I think this game has potential in that your character won't be restricted to wearing chunky steel and leather.

I really hope we can see armour in this sort of style, if not the scale.

Wow this soooo reminds me the ol' fallout 1 & 2 brotherhood of steel or the enclave power armours! :D

Surely the aim of this thread is also to establish what 'normal' is in 2077.

Look at how much casual fashion has changed in the last 60 years. The rate of change in fashion is intrinsicly linked to to the technology that creates it. The advent ofass production in the 1940's greatly increased the rate of change in fashion. The easier and faster something is to make, the faster and easier it is to change and adapt it.

What do you feel should define 'normal'.

Jeans or canvas pants, t-shirt, maybe an overshirt...

Really thats kind of been the standard for casual wear for the last 60 years...

Depending where you are, of course. Not in SE Asia, for example. Los Angeles or San Francisco, I'm not sure that is the standard for casual wear. Maybe slacks and a light dress shirt? Does LA have a standard casual even?

Definitely jeans or shorts and a T-shirt here, and in Singapore.

Jeans became popular because James Dean wore them in "Rebel Without a Cause". It was the first real spark of rebellion in the youth culture. In the following decade it slowly became socially acceptable to wear jeans, because they were designed to be workwear for factory workers and the like. They became a symbol of the downtrodden masses. They didn't really become fashionable until the 70's.

(Yay, I actually learned something in college while I was skipping lessons and hanging out with the girls in the fashion and textile course...)

If another material could be found that would be a symbol of rebelion, (and it would be highly sought after during the economic crash following the Data Krash,) it would become the new 'every day' material of choice on the street by the 2070's.

I saw very few jeans worn in SE Asia, compared to shorts or skirts anyway. Climate. China was slacks, if I recall.

I think our new daily rebellion wear for 2077 should be... grass skirts. Fake grass, of course. A symbol of the lost past, the fight against corporate synthetics and a gesture of haberdashic freedom!

You can! Insanity is delicious. I have funny taste in Internet friends, though. I've been known to like The Man.

Other than that, have a skirt!

Location-specific. Someone in Brentwood or out on the West side, who shops out of LL Bean or Land's End catalogues, will have a much different interpretation of "casual" than people in the barrio or Watts, which will be different again from people in Huntingtion Beach or Venice Beach, on the boardwalk.

Many of these suggestions have been brilliant, and would fit in very well. I have another suggestion based on a real fashion company. They have a very post apocalyptic, cyberpunk feel in a way. Check them out! Also, if anyone can send me suggestions for other clothing brands similar to this, let me know!

www.store.demobaza.com

EDIT: Added some photos of the styles from this company for a better look. Thoughts?

Clicky-clicky.

Also: I can't take any of those mens' pants seriously. They look like MC Hammer parachute pants. =p

Ah, thanks. Just literally went through this entire thread and noticed those as well.

And I definitely agree with the pants being a bit strangely shaped, but for the look, I personally think they fit well.

If I ever have the audacity to spend about $1000 on a single outfit, I might just indulge.

EDIT: Also, can't forget the female styles

...GAH. >_<

On the upside, I found another site to link to, that I think has good styles for the game; I'll link just the one pair of pants, and you can snoop through the site from there.

Downside: I want to buy TONS of stuff from there. >_<

I need a deeper wallet...
