Crafting purple and legendary components is excessively tedious when all you have are green or blue.

I'd like a slider to choose how many items I want to create.
If this would make crafting other gear too trivial, another option would be to just make legendary components use any color component -- ie, 100 green, 50 blue, 20 purple (or whatever the exchange rate would be) -- instead of forcing you to long click for every single component in each tier until you have enough.

I came here to say the exact same thing. OMG! This is one of those things that reminds me of RPGs from 20 years ago. Make a game tedious, and it becomes unfun really quickly. I don't mind grinding, that's different. Get my Street Cred up by running a bunch of BS missions and killing every "criminal" in sight? Fine. But making me spend an hour to convert my crafting components is absolutely awful.

I hope the Dev's see this forum post as this problem needs addressing soon. I have over 5000 whites with which i have no use for and to turn them into greens will take approximately 40 minutes. i can't even keep my finger on the button so that it goes and does another straight after, you have to take your finger off for every one. Extremely annoying! please fix

Needs to have the option to craft multiple of an item instantly.

Also, with ammo crafting, should tell you how many rounds you craft when you craft ammo.

It is difficult to believe that this game was in development for as long as it was and it is missing some of the most basic features that your average joe might suggest. It almost seems like this games features were conceived with really minimal effort.

Alongside a mass craft option should also be a mass disassemble option (beyond disassembly of a single type of stackable item which is actually available, thank God). A single click (hold to use) button should be available on the junk tab and in other sections of the backpack, allow also for a selection mode with disassemble option for selected items only. This kind of negates the scrapper perk but what I would suggest there is to make the scrapper perk increase the amount of components received when junk is auto-dismantled. Also, jewelry items that sell at $750 should be rare or epic (they could have tiers of jewelry like gold vs silver, diamonds vs jewels), giving blue and purple components to offset the loss in eddies from disassembling those pricey items. They could have even setup jeweler related heists with legendary tier jewelry which can be dismantled for some pricey and much needed components, meaning some of those "closed" shops with OPEN signs might be your local jeweler and could now be accessible, allow for robbery, etc.

Lastly, kind of a tangent but item related... why is unique loot information stored in the damned save file?! This data should be in a separate file tied to the particular save game which gets updated as unique loot is both created and destroyed (non-consumables/stackables). The file size could be much greater than this save game 8MB limitation. The only reason I can think for not having something like this is due to incompatibility maybe with PS4/XBox.

Also how about making number of mod slots non-random when crafting clothes? Like, who wants to craft at great material cost legendary pants with no mod slots?

SUGGESTION: Gear, Crafting, and Aesthetic

It is a bit silly to find 2 identical gear pieces that have different stats just because of "level". It is also strange there isn't a repair system. Standardizing gear stats based on type, manufacturer, and quality. This can also affect the look of the items as well. Also makes stock gear...

This and more. Crafting and item management in general is very minimal.

I agree completely. The found legendaries having less slots makes sense, but having to craft, then load, rinse, repeat a dozen times to get max slots is awful considering how rare (and currently unrepeatable) and expensive the legendary blueprints are.

I'd imagine they will fix the balance issues that result in infinite components before they add a slider to crafting, as otherwise it'd be even easier to get infinite components.

i would abolish crafting altogether and revert it to witcher 3 system:
Vendors craft items relevant to their specialty.
Crafting in current form not fit the lore of the game nor a logic.
Why giant corporations exist if anyone can craft super complex stuff from recycled junk?
Era of minecraftlikes is over and out.

Totally agree.

Hight tech equipment can't be crafted on the walk. Even the system of dismount items seens pretty stupid.

I wasted a lot of time upgrading components.

This doesn't help those on console but, for those on PC there are tools to automate this.
Attached is a python script that can be used to click for you.
The steps for using it are:
  1. Run script
  2. Put how many items you want to craft (how many clicks) and hit enter
  3. Put the mouse over the crafting button in game (you have 5 seconds to do this after you hit enter in the previous step)
  4. After the 5 seconds the script will run and click as many times as you specified in step 2
I hope this helps!
