Crafting Is Broken.

Agree with almost everything said here. Another weird thing is that some legendary crafted weapons actually cost less to build than a single upgrade of an epic one. I really can't see how no-one noticed these during testing.
Typical "testing" during rush/crunch doesn't include fun, or little details, power gaming and so on. Just critical path and actual crashes.

And even with that like Bethesda never fixed many Skyrim bugs over many Skyrim and then Skyrim DLC then Skyrim remasters versions. Pretty much every Bethesda game has an unofficial fixpack mod due to this.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels they've discovered the most pointless thing in the game, though I'd probably have titled the thread:

Crafting is broken, but upgrading is broken AF.

Underwhelmed and disappointed would be an understatement. Hope someone at CDPR is watching this thread and they will do a redesign at some point.

Where are people getting epic or legendary clothing / gun mods? I always check around the stores and they have complete crap in them. Are better ones sold after reaching certain acts or levels? Can't find anything other than green or blue mods at level 27.

From crime area with skull symbols, mostly you will get spec to craft legendary/iconic weapons. That is the cheapest way compared with getting the legendary drop weapon and upgrade it as you level up.

As for armor you can check link below, huge credit to this person.

Crafting is still VERY broken after patch 1.6

Many players, myself included, are finding that they go to upgrade a weapon and it just vanishes from the upgrade menu. For example, I waited until level 50 to pick up the Malorian 3516. That means it should have scaled it's damage to my character's level 50. Then I tried to upgrade the weapon with components. One upgrade... BAM... the weapon is gone from the upgrade menu. It will never return. And when I go to use the gun, I can see that 1 upgrade didn't even take! No changes to the damage actually took place, the gun just disappears from the upgrade menu and that's a done deal for good. Spawning another instance of the gun with console commands results in the exact same behavior.

I'm really fed up with people trying to tell me that this is an intended feature, you're simply talking out your .....
This same bug happens to the GOG Unicorn Katana. That weapon's description says, "The item will be upgraded to Epic after 5 and to Legendary after 12 upgrades. Upgrade count: 1." It's unique in that it doesn't use crafting recipes and you are required to upgrade it several times. In my case, this weapon vanished from the Upgrade menu after only 1 upgrade. (tell me that's the intended feature...)

*My game bug has progressed to the point where nothing can be upgraded even 1 time. Everything just vanishes after 1 upgrade.

I have the same problem with the Overwatch. Got it early, upgraded it for a while, and now it just doesn't upgrade any further. :(

Well there is also a game breaking bug that is probably the reason that you wont find many Neon Arrow or Phantom weapon mods in the vanilla game. If you spawn more of them with console commands, you'll soon learn that both of these mods, when applied to a weapon, have broken math applied to the damage and DPS. For example, I craft a brand new Iconic "Problem Solver" (the crafting spec says it's damage should be 106-130 at Legendary quality). When I look at the new weapon in my inventory the damage is actually only 51-62 and it's DPS is 909.2. Now I apply 4x Phantom mods to it (+5% firing rate increase, for a total of +20% rate increase). While the weapon physically seems to actually fire bullets faster, the DPS will still say the same number as it did before putting those mods onto it (909.2) despite the fact that the Attacks Per Seconds is now 20.02 (which is insanely fast, btw). How can the DPS not go up?!? But.... Furthermore, the weapons actual damage rating goes down. With the mods installed the damage goes down to 40-49.

Now, there is actually a mod on Nexus that aims to fix this particular issue, but I don't know what side effects this mod could possibly be causing as far as things like Damage Buff Perks. None of the following flat damage buffs seem to apply any provable damage increase. Hail of Bullets, BulletJock, or Desperado. When those perks are purchased, there's no physical way to prove that they do anything or not. The weapon's description card wont change, and if you attempt to make a save and do Pre-perk/post-perk tests, that will prove nothing because each shot that hits the target will say wildly different numbers due to things like +28-35 Physical Damage, or +Chemical/shock damage... Many people have been saying these perks have been non-functional for several game patches.

My thoughts are that since it's not really possible to prove that the do or don't work, people by and large just buy the perks and assume they work fine and CDPR is probably okay with that. And now that we've got the official announcement that the game will only get 1 expansion and they already announced cyberpunk's sequal... It's not looking good that these things will ever get fixed unless modders do it.
