Crashes / Quests Bugges, request

Hello hello. Some request or prayer to the devs :- CrashesI sincerely you guys are working on some patch to fix those crashes the games still has. Remains my favorite RPG -even general game - for years, but this is ... boring, at least. Specially when you experience a sudden crash after doing a long ay quest with many updates, you're at the end, just to validate to the correct NPC .. Crash. Ok, I load the last auto save ...What the ? No auto save since I began that damn quest ?And the game usually autosave when you enter a house (friendly one !) and again, when you exit that house .. Hmmmm.Maybe the auto save function could be given some AI .. I mean, auto save right after you validate some part of a quest .. (and without saving screen, just text on the bottom of screen would be enough, I guess)- Quest BugsOnly in Act III so far (I played the entire game 3 times already, currently on my 4th run) :- Follow the Thread : Jethro's not acting as he should once we've cleared the Salamandra's hideout in Sewers- Bank Robbery : siding with Siegfried this time, the quest didn't update, once in sewers and all Scoai'tel members lying dead on the ground. Tried this from 'manual saves' I did before talking to Velerad .. no way to fix. I had to take an older savez (before Posh Reception, indeed ...)

Once you upgrade to v1.2, ALL the crashing issues can be resolved by running the game in window mode.Just set the resolution to be the same as your desktop resolution and drag the window so it is centered perfectly (or almost perfectly) such that you don't see the "window" surrounding the game. I was completely stuck at the reverend of fire in act 1 (i even restarted, as soon as i talk to him the game crashed, and in many other spots)... after going to window mode I did act 1 and and act 2 without a single crash! For those who don't know how, to run in window mode go into the video options and turn off "full screen" mode.

I know about this .. I've bought the game the 26th of december 07, so it's patched in 1.2, I did not played before, but crashes happens again after 1.2 version. I'm playing in fullscreen, well, I should a try on the window mode . Gonna try right now. I also did the "windows maintenance" advised by Modidoy, but well .. worked for like one or two days ...I played after switching off my net connexion, without any anti-virus / spyware software, deleting any soft. or "things" running on my computer from the .. hmm (CTRL+ALT+DEL) Tasks ... Hoping it was the solution. But no. After this, and after some time .. game was also crashing ... no so often it did before, but still. So now, without a lot crashes ... mostly no crash at all, I can play with :Emule working, Winamp playing music / dual with only battle music ingame (gettin' confused when battle occurs, but thanks to devs to give us the option to set music off and keeping the battle music only), my Net connextion active, so anti - virus, at least, working too ..No difference. So, gonna try windowed mode. (As I did previously in some MMORPG from Sweden, you know wich I mean, don't you ? ;D ), well ..

The auto save function works in the following manner, i believe. Anytime you have updated a quest, as soon as you transition to another area, it auto saves. So if you go in a house, and someone tells you something that updates or finishes any quest, then as soon as you leave the house it will auto save.

Not a hill of beans difference here. I like this idea of AI save as the auto save is so bad at keeping up with crashes, yet great at super saves when never needed. At least all my crashes lately have simply been back to the desktop, rare, random and thankfully not for the whole system. Still, full crashing only happened the one time in early testing of my new card. Realistically, I don't see smarter auto save features happening, but who knows. As for quest bugs, those are some strange ones and I wish I knew what to say to help besides, just try another save.

yea windowed mode didn't do anything for me either, thou i notice my crashes occur in specific circumstances i.e. whenever one of those beanstalk monsters appears... or tries to, as the game crashes as soon as they're meant to appear
