Crashes to desktop since 2.0

I wasn't going to update past 1.2 since I had no problems. But since I did upgrade with 2.0 dark mode...I crash to desktop every time I quicksave, esc save, enter doors. The Blasphemers armor doesn't show up when crafted. This game use to be a possible GOTY...but now I wouldn't give it away. No response from support and Skyrim will have my vote for GOTY before even playing it. The Witcher 2 is nice to look at but to play is a load of stress. No mods, over the top pc, no dust, all drivers updated..the f cking works. This is the only game that gives problems. The 3GB line for starting windows caused Blue screen of death so that's a no-go. Reinstalled, tried diff settings in the User.ini...nada. I thought the first game was bugged...

Running with SpeedStep ("EIST") or Enhanced C1E enabled? Or if you have an AMD rig, Cool 'n Quiet enabled?

If so, try disabling these features in the BIOS.

If you have an nVidia GPU, make sure you are not on the "280" driver. This game is most stable on the "275" driver; if you must be on the latest and greatest driver, the "285" driver is OK.

But SpeedStep, Enhanced C1E, Cool 'n Quiet, and the nVidia 280 drivers can cause stability problems precisely when the game shifts modes. These problems are not unique to this game, but this game exposes computer stability problems like no other.

Was using the 275 driver...same thing..went to the new 285 one..same thing. Im sick of trying to fix their many mistakes.

Following up from the Nexus discussion...

Blasphemer not showing up, and possible reasons;
1. For some reason, the game thinks you're not playing in Dark Mode any more.
2. File left behind when you deleted mods. In particular, look for anything in the items folder in CookedPC. It should be empty (you can delete the items folder completely).
3. darkdiff.dzip missing. This should be in CookedPC and is part of the base game.
Does your journal show the Blasphemer quest as being complete? Also, I know this sounds silly, but have you checked scrolling up and down on the inventory? There has been one case where it was there, but the player didn't realise.

I'm going to have to leave Guy to give suggestions on the CTD. You seem to have tried most things, and I can understand your frustration. Please take this as encouragement and nothing else, but your problems are NOT typical, your PC appears to be well within the technical specs for the game, and that means it should be possible to fix the problem.
