Hi there just my observations based on the latest Nvidia drivers (535.06), my Palit Nvidia 970 GTX on a Win 7 System and several games (Battelfield 3/The Witcher III patched to 1.03/GTA V)
Problems (The Witcher):
I occasionally got the game freeze bug, where I get thrown back to the desktop, the sound is playing on and I cannot alt-tab back into the game. This mostly happened in conversations and the inventory menu (but not that frequent. Could play for hours until this happened) The Game itself never hard crashed or had any other bugs, other than the known engine ones, like the npc pop in and some quest bugs, but on patch 1.03 it is not "that bad" then it is now with 1.05/06. I love that the devs are pushing out patches very frequent and try to get all the bugs out there as fast as possible, but I do not like that the new patches get more things broken, then they fix...
Problems (BF3):
After the latest update of the Nvidia Driver Pack (Along with all the additional crap like 3d Works, Audio HD Driver, etc.) I noticed a great deal of stability issues while playing Battlefield 3 (which never before happened), the game just crashed very frequent back to the desktop and I got the Windows Event "BF3.exe crashed with a Problem in the module nvwgf2um.dll. Granted, it is an old game by now but I play it very often and in long sessions, and it is very frustrating to loose all your advancements, cause the game drops right before the match is resolved...
Problems GTA V (with ASI Mods all over the Place):
None, regardless of the drivers! Can play for hours and do not get any lock ups or problems. I have to admit, I am very impressed by Rockstars QA work for that installment. Thumbs up
Fix?!:
Well, since I constantly was kicked out of the Game sessions in BF, after just minutes of play, I was forced to investigate the matter. I checked forums and how to's, disabled some Origin settings, made a "clean" install of the drivers, checked for viruses without any luck. So I reverted back to the 388.44 drivers and installed them manually, which solved my problem for BF3 instantly. GTA is also still working without me noticing any difference and The Witcher III is also still working fine (but I did not spend that much time playing it lately, to be honest) but it did not crash during my 3-4 hours of play. I am no fan of downgrading drivers, but in that case, it helped me solve my problems.
Maybe this alone is no help for you guys, but I still thought to share the information with the rest of you, to maybe come to any conclusion.
