And a videogame critic should analyze the game for what it really offers not by sales numbers, hence why TW2 is already the best 2011 RPG. Of course that in practice it's not as simple as that because vg media is retarded. You can expect a MMO or a Multiplayer wannabe RPG to steal the Witcher 2 rightful place. And I won't be surprised if that happens.

A mainstream product like an MMO is bound to appeal to casual gamers, while TW2 will be a hardcore rpg and therefore will appeal to fewer people. So what. As long as CD Red makes good money, I wouldn't have it any other way. What sells the most isn't necessarily the best, we all know that.

That's what I've been saying all the time........... I just feel it's retarded for a game to win a award because it just appeals for more people. Something which have been happening frequently nowadays. That's so... Nintendo Wii. Haha.

Dude, it's not bribery--it's the fact that it's an MMO made by BIOWARE, of all developers! What they should do is keep MMOs in a category by themselves, as single-player games can't compete with those addictive monsters. Like Anwell was saying, you're comparing apples and oranges because most people who play MMOs aren't going to play a lot of single-player games, and vice versa. It's just not fair.

Exactly.

Then how does it matter? If the targeted customers are mutually exclusive, or very nearly so, how the hell does it matter? Would a SP rpg fan start playing a MMO just because it won an award?

I like to add this with game that have a MMO opp and also have a single player opp. IM not saying not all MMO/Single player oop are all like that just the ones I have played. I sometimes feel that the Single player opp is meant at a afterthought and focuses more on the MMO part.
