Any descriptions of it being able to shoot 3 concurrent bolts?

Actually, yes.

"Zoltan stared at the flickering flame dancing and crackling before him, painting the trees lining their side with a radiant orange.
But he was unable to bear the clicking noise from behind him. Mumbling what sounded like a thousand dwarven cursewords,
Zoltan raised his tired but sturdy body, tearing the crossbow from field marshal Duda's clumsy claws.
'Bah, give me that !,' Zoltan grumbled, picking up three bolts from a neat stack resting on a recently opened leather satchel.
'You will have chances to kill yourself, other than loading a Gabriel,' he angrily explained to Duda, who was visibly nervous now.
'Three bolts. Crafted in Mahakam, with edged tips. One enough to kill a troll if aimed at the heart.'
An owl next to them must have felt the tension in Zoltans voice and left the two alone. Three clicks.
'You see, lad - this is all it takes to load a ploughing Gabriel. Three bolts.,' he spat into the fire 'This ain't bolts made in Verden.
No fancy white trails left behind, to prevent debates over a slain deer on a royal hunting trip. Mahakam bolts. Made to plough your enemy's arse.'
Field marshal Duda gave his cracker a rest and sheepishly responded 'Brilliant, brillaint ! Squawk !'

It's also funny how everyone believes this is from the books.

edit:
...turns out my post above had 1337 characters. That makes it even more hilarious~

I put it in there on purpose.
It's even more entertaining that no one finds a parrot loading a crossbow the least bit suspicious.

You know what ? Let's forget the harpoon gun...

If we write an excerpt about the Skellige Islands naval shipyards producing Striga-class submarines,
we can hunt monsters with torpedos~

Interesting, though I see you've missed the part right after that:

"Geralt, who had just returned to the camp, carrying a freshly killed deer, struck by his sword - the only weapon the witcher used since the last hunting accident he had with a bow - looked at the dwarf.
'You're seeing triple, Zoltan, you should take it easy with the booze if you're standing guard. And stop talking to that parrot. Now, get that fire going with the crossbow, that comepletely useless excuse for a weapon, maybe it will work better as tinder.'"

And I'd appreciate if they would dial back the ridiculousness back a little. By exactly 2 bolts.
Thank you very much in advance.

Be careful what you wish for~
Knowing CDPR they will fulfill your wish, but replace the last remaining bolt with a miniature V2 missle.

Nah, just have faith in CDPR.

Their goal is to make a great game and they appreciate any feedback they get,
so I'm sure that they've read about the crossbow issue many of us have here.

My bet is that in the final version of the game it'll be one bolt, and no white trails.

I didn´t like it at first, but after the devs explained that with flying and even underwater creatures, Geralt needs some "gadget" it doesn´t bother me, it´s understandable. and it´s just a suplementary thing, to be used in hunt, traps or maybe some poison dart, I don´t think in combat mode with the sword in hand can be used, anyway you don´t have to use it if you don´t like it. :D

I don´t remember Geralt with bombs and grenades in the books, and there they are in The Witcher 2, personally I didn´t use them in combat, because to me didn´t fit Geralt, but I respect their involve in gameplay for other players that want a more "complete" experience in combat, and as a part of the alchemy, which was very good and extense. :)

mmm No.

Gamers can need the crossbow or some like gadget, but Geralt? He never has needed that and he hates it. Simple.
I mean, no one of us is a mutatn hunter so we cannot think and act as the real Geralt would do, our limitations make us ask for some new artefacts as normal humans being we are
