Man, in TW2 you can kill people with a fucking broom! I am pretty sure it is not a part of the lore as well. So what? Did the game become worse for it, or did the devs impose broom-fighting on anybody? I don't really see why it is so damn important now, while before, in TW1-2 axes, clubs, brooms and shovels were not.WHAT THE FUCK PPL??? No, I mean seriously WTF? Witchers DO NOT use bows or crossbows. Period. Go to the Batman Arkham City forum and post a topic about using sniper rifles, cuz you know, some enemies may be using flying vehicles so sniper rifle would be just fine.
That is just mean. Water hose works perfectly fine.In my humble opinion.
4. Easier to get cats out of trees.
Nah, it is Ciri's gift brought from 15th century Italy. Also I would think with it's compact design it might be of Nilfgardian origin.
I'll answer in kind, starting with 1: IF the thing is strapped onto Geralt's back, but we can't know for sure really? Is it official? Is it optional? Have the devs said anything in the matter? The game is one year off, anything can happen. To the people who are using the "if you don't want it don't use it", the"If he didn't shit in the books he can never shit" or the "how can he kill aerial monsters" arguments, allow me to retort, I'll address each argument in order.
1- If the thing is strapped to my damn back all the time, then its being forced on me and if I don't like it I will simply have to live with it, so even if I decide not to use it its still being a part of my character.
2-Please stop making ridiculous comparisons that don't make sense, having a crossbow strapped to his back and climbing or taking a shit are in two vey different levels, one deeply affects the look and feel of the character and the other is just normal stuff every healthy human does(can't believe I actually have to comment this)
3- He is very well capable of killing flying monsters(he killed a manticore in the books, and the whole point that made everyone so impressed was that he did it only with his sword), let us not forget that Witchers are "Exterminators" if he wants to kill a flying monster he finds its nest and kills it there or drives it away, and regarding saskia's fight and ranged monster attacks, you are forgetting he can use the quenn or the helitrope signs, which protect him from most ranged attacks, forcing the monster to come close(in saskia's case: her fire had no effect on me as long as I had quenn up, so she was forced to attack me in CQC, I think the battle with her was one of the most epic, well done, and realistic battles I ever had in video games).
I cannot believe CDPR would be so disrespectful to Sapkowski's character as to make the crossbow a part of monster hunting, I have faith in them and I know that Konrad said many times that they are staying true to the books, so I'm pretty sure they wont do that, my greatest complaint is about having it on my back at all times and the possibility of it being used in combat against normal enemies, because I simply abhor the idea of every fight beginning with a crossbow shot.
Now we're talking! I would love to fish in Witcher 3! So a fishing pole strapped to his back is okay then? More than a crossbow? :lol:I particularly would vote for it to be strapped to a fire as well, but since I see some people want it, I at least, would be ok with it (like I said a few times) if you could strap it to roach's saddle and use it as a tool for hunting, not as a weapon.
And also if they gave us the fishing minigame it would help the pain go away:lol:
Well, crossbows already appeared in TW2A crossbow is a modern weapon. I think it was invented ~1500s.
From the "Tower of Swallow"A crossbow is a modern weapon. I think it was invented ~1500s. We are not there yet, don't make this like in Fable - fable 1 was a great game but fable 2 and modern fable 3 killed the game. Also I can't stand the look of a crossbow because it always reminds me of that dwarf from Dragon Age.
A third shot at him with a Gabriel. A miniature crossbow invented and built by Gabriel, a
craftsman in Verden. He pioneered the slogan, ‘Protect yourself from banditry and violence’,
said the advertisement. ‘The law is helpless and powerless. Protect yourself! Do not leave home without a handy Gabriel brand crossbow. Gabriel is your guardian angel, Gabriel will
protect you and your loved ones from bandits,’
The demand had surpassed all expectations and the sale had achieved a true record. Soon
all bandits wore a Gabriel when assaulting someone.
Geralt was a witcher and was able to dodge the arrow. However he had forgotten about
the pain in his knee. The dodge was delayed by an inch and the blade-shaped tip tore his ear.
The pain blinded him, but only for a moment. The bandit did not have time to tighten the
crossbow and defend himself. Geralt, full of rage, cut of his hands and then spilled his guts
with Sihil.
There is none. It was spotted in this pictureHi! Can somebody give the link on the statement where CDPR confirm use of crossbow?
They were invented about 5th-4th century BC (or even earlier) by the Chinese , to clarify. No crossbows are pretty ancient, way before 1500s

There hasn't been any word, just as @sidspyker said. Hence the opinion skirmishes on the thread. Many in favour of crossbow and many against its implementation in Witcher 3. But as the devs haven't said anything official, I have more than once tried to remind my fellow witchers that we can't know anything for sure, or take it for granted until CDPR adress the matter. The devs are watching closely though, so voice your opinion if you haven't already. :lol:Hi! Can somebody give the link on the statement where CDPR confirm use of crossbow?
