So, any other ideas?
Or something like a program that we can analise the crash? Because without showing an error message its realy hard to find out why it crashes.

About the only thing I can think of at the moment would be to check your windows log files for witcher 2 crashes . It would be under the application header .

As i written in the opening post...the problem is that there is no entry in the windows events or log files.

Hey, just want to ask if there is something else which you can do to avoid the crash? I have the exact same issue as myse124. I've tried to reinstall the game from gog and also reinstalled the German files. I also checked the registry, but still I get random crashes. Here is a link to the dxdiag. Thanks for your help :). dxdiag

Looks like your audio driver could use updating

I see your using quite a few Bluetooth enabled devices . Make sure they are on the latest drivers as well .

Interestingly, I recently started my first playthrough with the EE. I'm using the GOG-version and German text and voiceovers. And guess what? The game crashes randomly, no error message, no specific location or when doing a specific thing, sometimes it takes only minutes sometimes a lot longer until it crashes. It never happened when playing pre-EE (but my system changed in some ways since then - new video card, SSD added, so it's not necessarily a problem with the EE).

I'll try setting it to English texts tonight and see what happens.

Edit: I just saw in the OP that it happens to other people, too, and that it was already known that this is not an isolated case. Then probably my post is not THAT interesting. :p

So english voiceover is not an option for you? (I'd always prefer it over the german one :D )

Not in this case, no. Read the books in German, and since neither is the native language I don't see a reason why I should prefer English.

And I like how the German dialogues capture the feeling and atmosphere of those in the books.

Anyways, I think regardless of my abilities and preferences, all languages should work properly, shouldn't they? And since these aren't isolated cases, but it seems to be more or less farspread with the German version, I think it should be worth looking into.

The 1st thing i`ll try since GOG installed in English language version is simply changing the text to German . If no issues arise then i`ll reinstall using German language with German text . Good as any place to start .

EDIT : So far i`ve had 2 crashes . The first was when leaving the LaValette castle just before the cutscene . Screen froze and crash to desktop . The second when going down the stairs of the Inn in Flotsam . Neither case was recorded in event viewer .

What if u sell items to a merchant in flotsam?
I can "provoke" a crash by selling much items to a merchant. Sometimes it crashes after 2 items, another day at 100 items.

It is not only a problem with the Steam version. I have the same here with the boxed version.
The game is patched to V3.3. Dxdiag is attached.

i have the same problem.
using a German version (speech and text). random CTD without any notifications.
on the steam board for this game a many German players speak about the same problem.

One of them had witcher 2 bought from the start and was able to play it in German without any problem. Now with the enhanced edition update he encounter the same problem as many other. random crashes when he trade, open doors, interact with the inventory...

So, what's happening next, Tommy?

We now have multiple people here reporting the same kind of crashes, there's more over at different forums, you've been able to reproduce the crashes.

Will this be forwarded to the devs to look into? What kind of reaction can we expect?

I have collected as much information which is very little . When the game crashes it leaves nothing the windows logs . I even used another program (Soluto)and it says I have had no crashes at all . Now I will forward the problem to the devs .
It may be helpful if someone could post some links from other forums in this thread .
