Read the post I linked above. Here is what they said:

Unfortunately, the costs of making a Linux build available DRM free is much higher than doing this via Steam. This is because we do not have the Steam Linux SDK to rely on, which contains standardized system DLLs. Without these we are have a massive job in additional code, licensing, quality assurance and support.

Then there is the added cost of maintaining and distributing the frequently updated DRM free builds along with the expansions.

So it's actually because we value all customers equally, we can't incur a disproportionate cost to make this gift to relatively small group of users.
They were pointed out that Steam runtime is FOSS and can be even bundled with the game if they can't figure out how to bundle libraries individually. Grim Fandango did that in their GOG release. But Triumph (AOW3 developers) dismissed all that, and just continued treating GOG users as a "small group", while at the same time claiming they are treating all customers equally. That's insulting, so they'll get no money from me.

Well, they got money from me and I enjoyed the game, so different beliefs I guess.

There are no beliefs involved as far as I can see. It's purely observational.

Edit: On second thought there ARE beliefs: Triumph believes the GOG community is not worth it. Which, as Gilrond pointed out, makes no sense.

But of course you meant whether it was worth giving Triumph money under these circumstances. Regardless of platforms, I think it is an issue when companies don't give a straight answer and simply bullshit around.

From those new Ubisoft releases on GOG, did anyone play Archimedian Dynasty? I played second Aquanox, and it was quite interesting. Unusual underwater dystopia. Archimedian Dynasty is the first prequel. Also, Albion looks interesting, but I never played it either. Is it good?

@Garrison72

Sadly I agree with you. GOG is growing and instead of improving their service (straightforward game delivery) it's gotten worse.

I hope they get their act together soon. Don't forget the Humble Store also offers DRM free, multiplatform games.

Today, one of the forgotten grails of gaming history is within your grasp, should you travel to a magical, DRM-free realm known as GOG.com

Eye of the Beholder, Pool of Radiance, Menzoberranzan - the list of groundbreaking RPG classics goes on. We set out on the quest for Forgotten Realms: The Archives a long time ago, and though it was a perilous journey - after years of searching, huge help from our friends at Hasbro and Wizards of The Coast, as well as months of technical work - we get to be freaking excited to sit here and say:

Forgotten Realms: The Archives are available now, DRM-free on GOG.com

The Archives are a set of thirteen D&D GoldBox classics packaged across three collections

-- Forgotten Realms: The Archives - Collection One features Eye of the Beholder I, II, and III. It's the three and only, the gold-standard in classic RPG dungeon crawling.

--Forgotten Realms: The Archives - Collection Three features near-infinite replay value and and an important chunk of RPG history with Dungeon Hack and Menzoberranzan.

We are now home to precisely 20 years of digital D&D RPG history - from Pool of Radiance (1988) to Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir (2008). You can also complete your personal collection with all the remaining D&D titles on sale at up to 80% off in our early D&D Weekend Promo! Bethesda (Soft)works its way to GOG.com

The Elder Scrolls. Quake & Doom. Fallout. Alright.

Welcome, Bethesda, to our pantheon of all-time classics!

Today, we're happy to start a blooming new partnership with Bethesda Softworks, one that brings an impressive lineup of their unforgettable games to our DRM-free platform, and plenty of guts and nuclear smiles to our faces.

We're teaming up to release some of the greatest hits from the Bethesda vault, some DRM-free for the first time ever. Re-release: Fallout Classics

Goodbyes are not forever (and war never changes).

It's not the first time we give this advice, but remember to take your Rad-X pills, try not to mistake a G.E.C.K for a gecko (not even remotely the same thing!), and take good care of yourself out there in the wasteland: Fallout, the premiere post nuclear role playing game franchise, is back.

The Fallout games have been with us on day one, and they played an inseparable part in defining the early GOG.com catalog. When they got swept away by radioactive winds, a gaping hole the size of California was left behind that we haven't quite been able to fill... until now!

Once again, you can pick up all three RPG classics at 66% off in a single post-apo bundle that includes:

--Fallout

--Fallout 2

--Fallout Tactics

We're welcoming Bethesda Softworks to GOG.com with more bundles, and tons of new classic releases - all DRM-free of course - and don't forget that two The Elder Scrolls classics (The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall) will drop like a bomb straight into your library, completely FREE with any Bethesda purchase. The bundle promos end on Wednesday, September 2, 12:59 PM GMT.

To say the least.

Leaves a bit of a sour taste that the re-released original Fallouts reportedly are missing all the extras that came with the initially released versions on gog.com back when though.

Release: Satellite Reign

Where syndicates reign supreme...

Satellite Reign
an open world, modern spiritual successor to Syndicate, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with full support for GOG Galaxy achievements and leaderboards! Blow past the corporate ladder at 20% off for the first week.

If you asked half the crew at GOG.com what their favorite game of all time is, a good chunk of us would say Syndicate. While the dirty cyberpunk settings and hard-as-nails gameplay did give us years and years of classic gaming to come back to, Satellite Reign may just be the breath of fresh, corporate espionage air that we've been waiting for.

Satellite Reign
, from the very days of its conception, was a modern Syndicate in everything but the name. A gritty cyberpunk world ruled by malicious megacorps, and a squad of professionals prepared to take down the system. You'll get to roam around a huge and filthy, open-world city which isn't just cool, but also gives you a fantastic tactical freedom in how you tackle each mission - there is no one right way to achieve your ends. Between tons of high-tech goodness and customization, there is an ever-present Syndicate feel to the game with one unquestionable improvement - freedom, freedom is in the musty air.

For more Satellite Reign goodness, you can also pick up the Original Soundtrack, Art Book, and a prequel Novella!

Return to the Syndicate, in spirit, with Satellite Reign, available now - DRM-free on GOG.com The launch promo will last until Friday, September 4, 13:59 PM GMT.

Only had the time to do the opening tutorial section and then some (still wrapping things up in Shadowrun: Hong Kong) but so far it looks like as if Satellite Reign succeeds in being the modernized spiritual threequel to Bullfrog's Syndicate series.

If you dig Syndicate and/or always wondered what a real-time, Cyberpunked-up version of XCOM (2012) (minus the aliens) might look and play like, then this could probably be right up your alley.

The key for The Witcher has been redeemed, and the one for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is still up for grabs if anyone's wondering.
For the remainder of August, 31st then, I presume(?).

Nah, let's wait for people to pick it up here (I'm still waiting for one reply). If no one will pick it up, then GOG or Linux gaming giveaways will work for sure.
