Release: STASIS

A familiar ambience awaits...

STASIS
, an istometric point-and-click horror adventure, is available now on Windows and Mac OS X - DRM-free on GOG.com with a 20% launch discount.

There is a familiar, unmistakable feeling to STASIS, an atmosphere we've felt before. A musical, ambient hum of decrepit machinery. Dirty, pre-rendered environments. A horrid discomfort and grime.Through subtle graphical aesthetic, particular animation and sound design, STASIS invokes powerful memories of exploring the desolate vaults of Fallout, the twisted halls of Sanitarium, and the strangest corners of Planescape: Torment - a freak-show, a circus of nostalgia.

STASIS
tells its story on a derelict spacecraft, home of self-professed gods and scientific progress, where everything that could go wrong, did: technical failures, deaths, inhuman experiments and an orbit in decay. You're a survivor on the lifeless, floating husk - perhaps the last, perhaps just one of the few. You hope for the latter, because your child and wife were right beside you as you fell into a deep, cryogenic sleep. With deeply ingrained old-school influences, and a soundtrack designed by the man behind the 90's most iconic gaming sounds (including Fallout, Planescape: Torment and Sanitarium) STASIS strikes an unprecedented balance between a modern revival, and a classic aura.

If you're up for more classic intensity, you can also pick up the Deluxe Edition, complete with Unique Backgrounds, a PDF Art Book, and the incredible OST in MP3 and lossless FLAC.

The memory lives on in STASIS, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The launch discount will last for one week, until Monday, September 7, 12:59 PM GMT.

Developer Q&A:

If you're as intrigued by the game and its influences as we are, drop by for the upcoming Developer Q&A, where Chris & Nick Bischoff - the guys behind the game - will answer all of your questions about the game or their favorite coffee place.

Look for the dedicated forum and newscasts, and join us between 6:00-8:00 PM GMT on Tuesday, September 1!

That's a pity. I'll have one extra key for TW1/TW2 or Wasteland 2 coming from The Bard's Tale campaign as well.

Fair bit of warning in regards to Stasis - this game is so old school it's hard-locked at 1280x720. And you can't do a damn thing about it because the backgrounds have been rendered at that resolution.

Apart from that it's nothing short of impressive so far, and even more so considering that basically one dude put it all together over the course of 6 years.
Great unsettling atmosphere as well, very Alien(s)/Event Horizon/Pandorum-like.

Better put it up earlier than I did then. Or just throw it up on the gog.com forums right away, like @Garrison72 suggested.

Release: World in Conflict: Complete Edition

War just came back home.

World in Conflict, a beautiful love-letter to tactics and explosions, is available now on Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com

A hail of artillery pierces tanks and grocery stores, as homes, terrified men, and boys burn under sheets of napalm. Retreat? Never. These are your homes - and you've said your goodbyes fifteen seconds ago. A stunning flash engulfs the now radioactive pit formerly known as Jamestown High and for a few seconds there is silence. But the battle rages on, a dozen blocks down, and your attention is needed elsewhere.

World in Conflict
is one of a kind, really. It's an RTS that succeeded in becoming both action-oriented and incredibly tactical, easily accessible but challenging, and a beautiful spectacle of war. It wasn't the first to do many of the things that make it brilliant, but the combination of small-scale tactics on huge battlefields, and the sheer destructive force at your fingertips is unlike any other. You're put in control of a small squad of infantry, tanks, air support or artillery - just one part of a larger clash. Dynamic single-player missions will take you through the various roles and locations in every battle, keeping you constantly at peak intensity as you defend the United States from an onslaught of enemy forces - and then execute a counter-attack in the Soviet Assault expansion.

Commander - three minutes until the second nuke is primed.

The bonds of war and terrifying firepower at your fingertips, World in Conflict is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com

Witcher 3 is 30% off on GOG now (that's the first time it's on major sale). I hope CDPR will also offer a sale to celebrate Linux release when it will come out on GOG.

Maybe they'll release it along with the expansions? "The definitive (aka Linux) TW3 version".

May be, but expect it to come out later. I doubt they are close to ready.

Just became aware of Armello,
a grand swashbuckling adventure that combines three styles of play; The deep tactics of card games with the rich strategy of table top board games, combined with a character role-playing system.

GOG released a turn based tactical game - Shadow Watch.

It looks quite interesting. But the only Wine rating for it isn't very promising. However it's quite old. Did anyone try it in Wine?

And now System Shock 1 is on gog as well - with a Classic and an Enhanced edition (both included in a single package):

System Shock: Enhanced Edition now comes with official support for resolutions up to 1024x768 (compared to the original 640x480), and a native 854x480 widescreen mode. Gameplay is streamlined with a toggleable mouselook mode, including more intuitive inventory and item management. Combined with assorted bug-fixes and remappable controls, System Shock is now truly enhanced. Still, some gaming experiences are truly worth preserving, so you can also return to the authentic 90's gameplay with System Shock: Classic - ready for modern systems, completely unaltered in all other aspects. Check out just a sample of the Enhanced and Classic differences right here.

I was wondering the same thing now that they're on sale. Steam has Linux versions of Metro, but GOG does not.

Release: Death to Spies: Moment of Truth

Ermahgerd SMERSH!

Death to Spies: Moment of Truth, the second part of the WWII stealth & assasination title, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 60% discount!

Are you a fan of Hitman? Get this game. Are you a fan of Hitman and World War II scenarios? By gods, get this game. Are you any good at Hitman? Good luck!

Death to Spies: Moment of Truth
is a third person game of sneaking, social engineering, and death. As a spy for the SMERSH, an infamous Russian intelligence agency, you will infiltrate the Nazi war machine, then cut off it's head. One tendon at a time.

Of the many ways to stand out as a solid stealth game, Death to Spies: Moment of Truth puts its eggs in a pretty solid basket: Artificial Intelligence. As you navigate the ever changing mazes of patrol routes and random passers by, you'll sneak by, or sneak up to take them out, change your outfit, move on. It's the natural behavior and reactivity of the world around you that really stands out - people know each other, they talk, they wonder - attention to detail and a key eye are your only options.

Focus and precise surgical cuts, Death to Spies: Moment of Truth is now available DRM-free on GOG.com. The launch discount will last for one week, until Thursday, October 29, 12:59 PM GMT.
