Computer: OMG, will HI [Human Intelligence] ever improve? This game sucks.

Sounded really promising, but fell short of the expectations, unfortunately. Also 'a bit' pricey for basically 2-3 hours, from what I've heard.
They nailed it with the retro-futuristic sort of '2001: A Space Odyssey' aestethic though.

Release: The Saboteur

A single spark of courage can ignite the fires of hope.

The Saboteur, a stylish action-adventure chronicling one man's fight for revenge in Nazi-occupied France, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 50% launch discount.

Sabotage really is an underappreciated art. Not only does it require copious amounts of creativity, street smarts, patience, and bravado, it can also help oppressed people survive an occupation long enough until the time is ripe to fight back. Racecar mechanic Sean Devlin wasn't planning on becoming a saboteur, but when his best friend gets killed by a sadistic German officer, he finds himself joining the French resistance, willing to cause some mayhem and avenge his buddy's death in the process. As he's running across rooftops, engaging in shootouts, and blowing up enemy assets, the black and white Parisian districts will gradually get more colorful, signifying the locals' growing confidence against the receding oppressors. Vive la résistance!

Work the streets and shadows of Paris and push back the German occupation forces in The Saboteur, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 50% discount will last until September 29, 12:59 PM UTC.

And eventful they will be, because when you start exploring the universe, other species might try to befriend or fight your guys for intergalactic supremacy. Release: Mirror's Edge

Outrunning oppression.

Mirror's Edge, the energetic free-running action game with the striking visual design, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 50% launch discount.

The gleaming, utopian appearance of the city cannot fool Faith. She's seen how things are run around here, with everyday activity being monitored closely and sensitive pieces of information constantly changing hands high above the oblivious citizens. Now her sister is being framed for a crime she didn't commit and Faith must employ every bit of her resourcefulness and parkour talents to run the rooftops, avoid the authorities, and expose the truth.

The revolutionary first-person running mechanics and intense hand-to-hand combat make Mirror's Edge into a spectacular action romp, boosted by its pristine aesthetics and unmatched sense of flow. I've heard about Mirror's Edge before, but not about other games. I also noticed they are all from 2009 or 2008, same as previously released Dragon Age: Origins and Dead Space. I wonder if EA came up with the idea to set some blank timeout on DRM-free releases (7 years or something)? I guess we'll see if they'll release anything next year that originally came out in 2010.

I love the original Mirror's Edge, and Saboteur was not bad either. Spore is basically No Man's Sky with more content that came out 7 years ago :D

Could be something they're already working on for the final release of the Galaxy client, which, if I'm not mistaken still hasn't left Beta phase.

Release: Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault

Reliving humanity's greatest conflict.

Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault the historically-inspired FPS of WWII heroics, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 60% launch discount.

World War II was kind to no soul - humankind lost something that we're still trying to retrieve. Private Thomas Conlin was first touched by the war when he arrived at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. From that point onwards, he will be deployed to several key places across the Pacific theatre of WWII, participating in the Makin Island raid, becoming an impromptu pilot at Guadalcanal, and even getting assigned as squad leader in the Battle of Tarawa.

Giving orders to your mates and calling a medic for health recovery are among the innovative features that give Pacific Assault that all-important coat of realism which perfectly compliments its accurate depiction of some less known WWII battles. And it proves that as much as war changes every man, so can one man's heroics change the war, either in big ways or small.

Join Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault and experience the war that changed the course of history, DRM-free on GOG.com.The 60% discount will last until November 3, 12:59 PM UTC.

Release: Cossacks 3

The art of multitasking!
Cossacks 3, a multifaceted RTS with massive battles and demanding tactical gameplay, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

To the foot soldier war is often nothing but a savage, cruel game of survival but a general cannot afford to think this way. No, he must approach war as the ultimate battle of wits, a stimulating challenge of educated extrapolation. As a commander of thousands upon thousands of soldiers, swarming the battlefields of the 17th and 18th century Europe, you must start by overseeing the construction of the necessary buildings and materials before getting into the nitty gritty of the massive battles. The placement of your units, the tactical maneuvers, the trickery of the landscape - you must take all these factors into account whether you do battle on land or at sea. With twelve possible nations at your command, 70 different unit types, and over 140 historical buildings, it might take you some time to refine your strategies, but when you finally master the art of war, no campaign or multiplayer challenge will seem insurmountable.

Build and control your well-oiled machine of 17th-century warfare in Cossacks 3, DRM-free on GOG.com. Decorated war veterans will want to bolster their armies with the Digital Deluxe Edition, which provides access to 4 future DLC containing single-player campaigns, multiplayer battles, and the game's OST. If you're not ready to commit, you can always upgrade later.
The 10% launch discount will last until November 27, 10:59 PM UTC.

Note: You will find a redeemable multiplayer code in your Cossacks 3 gamepage. If you purchase the game until December 6, redeeming this code will also give you access to some Early Bird goodies, including an additional single-player mini-campaign, 2 unique units, and a special multiplayer badge.

[h=1]Release: Sid Meier's Civilization III, Civilization IV, and CivCity: Rome[/h]

The triumvirate of strategic gameplay

Civilization III: Complete, Civilization IV: The Complete Edition, and CivCity: Rome, three of the most celebrated entries in the wildly popular and critically-acclaimed franchise, are now available, DRM-free on GOG.com. Get them individually with a 33% launch discount or grab all three in a bundle for 50% off.

Let's be honest: our civilization would not be nearly as advanced if our ancient forefathers had the Sid Meier's Civilization games available to them. It's not just their incredible 4X depth that keeps you engaged for hours upon hours, it's how addictive the experience is, compelling you to stay for "just one more turn" so that you don't go to bed with any part of the map left unexplored or any hostility left unanswered.

Civilization III Complete and especially Civilization IV: The Complete Edition took the franchise to new heights by introducing new mechanics, improving the visuals and hooking players with additional modes and strategic options. They are the perfect challenge for those who want to build their empire, negotiate with other nations, and conquer their place in history through the years.

CivCity: Rome is a city-builder spin-off where you manage some of the greatest cities of the Roman Empire. Not only will you set up their infrastructure and help them grow, but you also have the chance to look inside the buildings and observe your citizens going about their everyday lives!

GOG sent me a recommendation for Shadow Tactics earlier today. Looks pretty cool. Has anyone played it yet? There are a few games that interest me in that same price range and I don't see myself spending more than $100 in games when I could buy just one and wait the for rest.

Shadow Tactics sounds interesting, but I just bought The Dwarves which wasn't cheap either. I might buy Shadow Tactics at some later point.

Veterans of Commandos or Desperados might find it a bit too handholdy (I wish they'd kept the tutorial parts separate from and out of the actual story missions) but other than that it's really good so far. Very close to what you'd expect a modern take on the top-down squad-based real-time tactical stealth genre to look and play like. Plus, you can't go wrong with early-17th century Edo period Japan (complemented by top-notch Japanese VO) for the setting.

The free demo(!) with the first two missions (second one is on a 10 minute timer though) is still available, so if you're on the fence it would only make sense to give that a spin or two before shelling out.
