I wish there would be some sort of artistic direction to the score on top of the obvious. That it's not just fitting synth and rock'n roll themes that fit with the setting by default, but something more symbolic and contrasting.

Case in point, the opening sequence of Melancholia where Wagner's romantic prelude of Tristand and Isolde is played upon the depiction of the end of the world.

Been listening to this whilst I play duelyst (free to play multiplayer stratagy/card game) 'cause I quickly got bored of the original soundtrack.I'm not really familiar with cyberpunk but the songs have cyberpunk pictures that go along with them so they're probably not far off.

Just stumbled upon it, don't remember how, not my usual genre of choice either but it quickly grew on me. most of it would be more fitting as battle music probably.

The one thing I'd like to see from the Cyberpunk OST is more tracks that are more ambient and just add atmosphere in the regular gameplay. I think it's best to have a mix of ambient tracks and those that you could listen to separately from the game. I remember my man crush Totalbiscuit mentioning that you don't need to play a game to judge it's soundtrack, in response to criticism of his award show. One of the few things I completely disagree with the guy about. The purpose of the music is to give the game atmosphere and to make you feel the feels you should be feeling at that time. You could have some of the best music ever composed in your soundtrack but if it doesn't fit with what you're seeing on screen then it will only detract from the game.

I don't think you can have a proper cyberpunk soundtrack without some heavy metal, or punk. Both styles fit the genre perfectly. Although, I prefer metal to punk.

Something like New Wave British Heavy Metal would be awesome:

I'd even go a little further and throw in some early Death, and Black Metal

MOSHPIT
Short lived french digital hardcore act, tho, it's very cyberpunk and "kick your ass"
I think that kind of sound would perfectly fit Cyberpunk 2077 (like in some hardcore club or something)
I'm actually working on a similar project at the moment tho, maybe I'll send a few song at CDPR, who knows what can happen hehe.

Hypocrites Anthem

Industrie

Souvenirs And Other Tumours

The Recipe

3TEETH
Amazing band, can you do something more Cyberpunk honnestly?
They're actually tourring with Primus and Tool, I'd love those guys to work on this game, it would be killer.

Pearl 2 Swine

Really amazing song to have during a "lovemaking/sex scene"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2LQdh42neg

It would amazingly fit a cosy-corporate-classy-bar or something also.
