I would love if it worked with the Oculus Rift. The thing i shaping up to be amazing and keeps getting better.

Being able to use it with both this + Space Citizen (Chris Roberts new space sim coming out, which will make use of it) would be amazing.

Agreed, it would be really nice to use this provided(!) that they got a working, improved consumer version by then and I’m not sure if this is gonna happen. So yes, in theory I am all for it but in practice ... maybe CDPR should spend their resources elsewhere if this isn’t going anywhere.

Also, remember that this is primarily meant for First Person games (even though it would obviously work with Third Person ones as well even if less well).

Well the Oculus is due out before this, so they have time to see if it would work and how the Oculus is recieved by the community before dedicating resources to it. Personally I would love to see incorporation for the Oculus, but then, I'm just excited for the Oculus in general... aswell as cyberpunk 2077 of course.

It is? I thought they were only gonna publicly sell (instead of via Kickstarter) the developer kit until then but maybe I got that mixed up.

I'm quite interested in how the OR will actually work. I hope it comes working flawlessly and will feel natural in use as opposed to a nice immersion addition with a high cost in controlling the game (imagine doing a 180° head/body rotation to see what's behind you... neck broken :) ).

I'd say CDP could work on adding support for the device on the conditions: 1) that the OR is a really exceptionally good working gaming device/controller and 2) they won't have to pull away resources from other important game aspects to get this one implemented.

You control your body with the mouse rather than your face (which is how it works now). So without moving the mouse you can only view what lies in front of you (and a bit of the left and right). But if you move the mouse you can turn your body and subsequently look behind you as well.

I'm incredibly excited about both the Oculus Rift and CP2077. The thought of being able to experience the two together blows my tiny little imagination and sense of anticipation away. Of course it's all too early in the lives of either of these projects to really decide how realistic or unrealistic the combination will be but I think if it came to be it could be unlike anything since.

A trouble that comes to mind is the power it'd require from any computer running CP2077 in desirably high settings and in stereo all while maintaining the fps the Oculus basically requires. When day dreaming about a scenario like this, playing CP2077 on the Oculus I hate to even lend consideration compromise but maybe that is what it will come down to.

Since considering this possibility I've already spent a bit of time day dreaming about it. I think the ideal play setup would be at a desk with a mouse and keyboard or maybe in place of the keyboard something like a nostromo. It'd be a tricky thing to find the balance between pointing your point of view with your head and managing, say, your aim with the mouse. I think they could manage it in a way where the aiming with the mouse is relative to your head movement. But then it'd be difficult to take a look around without it moving your aim as well. Clearly control schemes would be difficult.

This idea is the stuff of video game dreams. Here's hoping it hasn't got to stay as such.

This is absolutely a must for all sneak and espionage games. If they manage to get the position tracking working, one can actually peek round a corner. I hope that will be public and compatible with 2077

I posted on the Oculus Rift forums recommending CP2077. You might want to wander over there and support it, if you like the idea.

I so hope this happens. It would amplify the game experience so much.

As a side note programmer from Valve, (pause for strike) , is doing a talk at GDC about translating team fortress 2 into VR covering what the issues and awesome of doing FPS as well as UI in a 3D immersive space is like. So there is a VR version of TF2 out there.

Seems tailor-made for the CP 2077 experience, but I'll have to see more of it to determine how legit it is.

Sardukhar's Cyberpunk 2077 thread on the Oculus Rift forums can be found right here.

I've got to say, the tease of the possibility of this idea is too much! I mean, as far as we know this is still well within the realm of possibility isn't it?

I guess the OR could be a perfect match for the game - if they make it so that you arn't just a 'floating head'.

It always annoyed me a lot if you couldn't see your feet in an FPS... Especially if you had to make a precise jump.

Argh, just noticed the typos...
