I have some thoughts and ideas i like to put out there as well as a pool to see how many people are interested.

1: Songbird ending so to open. After knowing i am sending V to what is almost a guaranteed death i would at least like to know she is ok or at least alive. The other ending is a bit bitter but you sell out or do it for the greater good and you get to live and see what happens after with the other characters and get some form of clousure, cool! Alex's ending in songbirds ending is well done, you meet up talk it out and we get some form of clousure for her, Reed dies for his principles in a very dramatic climax between him and you. Now i don't need Song to call me at the end but at least a short scen where she opens here eyes or a cut in one of the endings where she is paying respects to Vs grave (even if V is alive) would be a nice touch. I could talk about the Twins but yeah hated that ending for them and not being able to shame Reed and Alex about it more (i do avoid killing people most of the time in that playthrough), it felt very odd to get mad at him in two dialogue options and then go like man this is cool after that.

2: All the endings are left open ended but at the same time i have monk and the worlds greatest AI supposedly telling me i am fucked as well. Like open endings is fine but why put everyone behind the yeah you die camp aside from Johnny that just says "never stop fighting"? Feels supper imbalanced to the point where i can not walk away with any hope V makes it and survives. an playthrough i wanted to do was basically save song then give Johnny body and live on a hope Song and V make contact again some day but everyone says says soulkiller dose just that kill your soul. Now i have been thinking about what it means to be you and at what point you are not yourself but a copy of the original but i don't find enough "fact" about soulkiller and other states of existing in the Cyberspace to write it of as being a simple copy. Its annoying how much Alt and the monks as well as Misty insists that is not you directly or inertly when there is not enough known "in my opinion" to be sure wherever that is you or not. There is a hole host of Questions i am asking myself to determine when and where i stop being me and i am yet to make a concussion. Point is its annoying how many people state things as obvious when they are anything but and that fucks with me and makes me unable to walk away with a meaningful experience or lessen / question when i reach the ending of the game.

3. Orion story suggestions. Include Songbird mayby? Don't know how or why yet but i like the character. Mayby an alternate timeline where Jackie kept the chip and became a living legend in place of V. V can run of all you have to do is choose is what start and gender V has. This way we can find out more about V and they backstory without taking player agency away from the player and develop V a bit more in a Subplot or something.

4: The pool will feater some options from how ppl would like Orion to look like as well and some options from the previous game 2077 and if the gods be willing maby CDPR will lisen. I would also like to ad that despite my criticism here i love almost everything about the game aside from what i wrote about the post here, maybe more romance options is on my Wishlist but not my biggest priority.

I believe there has been many conversations about endings and Orion already, but my ideal Orion worldstate would be where we play as V again and pick up from Star and King of Wands ending. If possible, I would love it if Star, Sun, Devil endings are 'canons' so that we can choose from those too, with King of Wands, King of Cups for Phantom Liberty choices.

But as much as I wanna see Songbird in Orion, the problem is that her fate is very different in every ending, just like 2077 endings are. The fact that she can be alive or just dead makes her inclusion, well, tricky, to say the least.

And I agree several plot points of this game isn't so well explained and sometimes ambiguous, if that's what you mean. Like when Alt did the 'miscalculation' with V's lifespan and would tell you to come with her because you're gonna die soon, anyway  Btw, I don't fully trust her when she says that. And I know you're not the only one who feels hopeless about endings and V's survival, but I do believe that there's hope for V. They talk about possible cures for V in Star and Sun ending. After all, if Songbird found the cure in Dogtown, what's to stop V and Aldecaldos, or V and Mr. Blue Eyes from finding another cure? And maybe V will live even longer than 6 months in Devil ending as well. Who knows if Arasaka lied so that we can sign the contract for Mikoshi.

To answer the question, I prefer a new story with a new character and not any kind of canon ending.

Alt doesn't have any reason to lie or anything to gain if V goes behind the black wall.
In theory, she's quite right. Because it doesn't matter how long V will live, if V return in the body, V will die. Maybe in 6 months, maybe in year, maybe in a decade or maybe at 100 years old, but V will die it's a certitude.

You just need to not forget that "Alt" is no longer Alt. She is a "god-like AI" which simply use Alt engrammatic data. So between two choices :
- Returning in the body and die for sure (no matter how long it take)
- Or going behind the black wall, possibly die but also possibly live forever.
If you remove any kind of emotion or "things" which make us human* (the best choice might not be the most logical^^), the obvious answer is to go behind the black wall and possibly live forever. So obviously, when V ask what Alt would do in this case, she suggest to go behind the black wall.

*that's why V said how could you live without feeling the wind on your shoulders or the warm sun rays on your face. For an AI, it would seem to be quite stupid concerns.

Voted 4.

Would love to see Cyberpunk 2 continue the story of each ending of the first game. Especially Phantom Liberty's ending, V trying to survive Night City without their cyberware. Or with a death warrant for betraying NUSA where they'll become wanted by the entire country. What a thrill that would be.

longer game play would be great after beating cyberpunk 2077 kinda feels like the devs were holding back on things in the map found places that should of been added for another district but was never finished i know more can be added to the game i understand it takes time but why not extened the map more so your not stuck in night city new missions can be adding for a new state since u guys said this is only a warm up i already have a city built in blender that looks like cyberpunk but i took my build 100X further and bigger there about 50 states to raise hell on im willing to donate it to CD projects for cyberpunk 2 doors are cut open u just need to add your textures spent 3 years building this after playing cyber punk

I think whether Alt told us the whole truth or not is somewhat up to our interpretations, like the theory about whether Johnny's memory shows the actual events or they're twisted by Johnny. Of course, Alt we meet isn't a human anymore and has no reason to be humane, but how can we know for sure that she told us the absolute truth without any dubious intention? She's pretty much Deus ex machina in this game but that doesn't mean she doesn't have any ulterior motive. I believe her being Deus ex machina and informing us everything as if she's a God(which she is, I suppose, some Blackwall AI God) makes it more of a reason to be somewhat doubtful of her.

What's the reason to tell V, at the very end, she didn't calculate that Johnny's mind changed V's body? And tell us, oops! Now you only have 6 months. How could AI God have missed that and then strongly push the idea that V leave the body for Johnny? Her being AI doesn't eliminate the small possibility that there's mind of human Alt remaining there. I say this because she not only logically informs us, she urges us to make a room for Johnny, even if the final choice is up to V. Who knows if there's some kind of feelings involved there, favoring Johnny. Because 'Alt' doesn't have any reason to feel anything for us, but it's possible with Johnny.

Of course, these are just theories and I wasn't this doubtful of Alt, probably up until Phantom Liberty. Alt doesn't practically rule and have control over all the AIs from beyond. Who knows if she isn't also infulenced and tainted by 'them(like Songbird would say)'. We don't really know what they want other than getting across and entering this world, but the whole Blackwall AIs seem a hell lot more sketchy and dubious than they already were. Especially since V has already made contact, one way or another, in all endings of PL as well, V could be easier to absolve and control if a choice to enter the Cyberspace is made. Not to mention Alt is aware of the Blackwall contact and mention it in Star ending, which I find it a very cool detail to refer to PL events, btw

Yes she missed it, but until being directly connected to V's body (through Izanagi access point under Arasaka tower), it's a bit like a doctor who would give you a cursory examination in his office, but discovers that it's much more serious than expected during the operation when he can directly see "inside" you.
Then, the fact that she came to pretty much the exact same conclusion/diagnostic as Arasaka guys (As reminder, she never have any contact with them), which is that V's body is no longer suitable for V's consciousness anymore and will die within 6 months if V decide to stay in it, tends to prove that she's not lying.
And I doubt Alt would "favorise" Johnny. If you check how she treat Johnny in the Sun ending when he contact her instead of V, if she have feelings for Johnny at time, they're long gone.
how can we know for sure that she told us the absolute truth without any dubious intention?
Alt have a goal and say it. She want to destory Mikoshi, take all the engrams with her to "being a part of something greater". Who the hell know what is this "somthing greater", but that's her goal. She doesn't say us more, but she doesn't have to.
Beside, in Mikoshi, there are engrams of almost all of the most poweful, influent and wealthiest people on the planet, so I wonder why she would even care about unsignificant V's engram...

At the end, unlike all other engrams, to which Alt leaves no choice at all (they all go with her without any exception), she lets V choose what to do. If she lied or if she wanted V to come behind the black wall, why letting the choice. She would just have to do whatever she wanted.
So yes, she's quite scary (I love after introducing her in the Arasaka tower, V say "Thank you" and she answer "Are you sure?"), she misterious because she doesn't say everything, but I don't think she "lied".

Edit : Just to say that it's only my point of view, "things" in Cyberpunk are often/mostly a bit greyish/shady/mysterious and that's why we love it I guess (I do at least). If it wasn't the case, we wouldn't even have this discussion :giggle:

2. We play as V and there is a "canon" ending in 2077.

We helped Songbird and Orion start with the canceled moon DLC after the Star Ending (because it's easier, no need to worry for side characters, they either leave the city or are dead).
We (Songbird and V) "work" for/with Mr Blue Eyes. (Songbird is the new Johnny, the "hologram" character like in Phantom Liberty).

I chose option 4.
I'd like to see, to one degree or another, a continuation of Cyberpunk's many unfinished stories.
The concept of "better ending" zeroes in on the spectrum of open endings in Cyberpunk - aka ‘What was it all for anyway?’
The notion of "canonical ending" torpedoes the idea of ‘dystopian future without hope’. Turned out there were ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ ways to end the game after all. Illogical.

Purely personal perception.

It would be nice to play with V. again but any good ending relatively but again V. will die
Only if we put ourselves in the hands of Arasaka (I want to live)
or us (Sylverhand takes the body)
Then in Orion a new body and we go for revenge
