I ran DXHR at 4720 x 1600 on my PC. Render seemed fine to me! Did you play it on a console or something? Am I mismembering? NOT POSSIBLE. Or maybe 'm used to all cutscenes looking less good than my beautiful super-res on my gorgeous multiple monitors. Have I..mentioned my monitors before? Perhaps once or twice?.

I played in windowed mode on ONE of my multiple monitors. At the time, I'd have had a 560TI. I didn't spend a lot of time tweaking it. I didn't see videos at the time that were better quality, but I have just been watching one of the scene I mentioned that was significantly better than I got - I don't know how it was achieved, whether it was vanilla or not, and aren't interested enough to check further. So I'll just accept the slight, VERY slight, possibility that maybe, just maybe, my judgement has been adversely affected by the fact that I didn't optimise the gameplay graphics. You do NOT get to take this as an admission that I may have been wrong. And the animation during dialogue still sucked compared to the pre-rendered cutscenes. So there.

I also liked the cutscene finishers in Skyrim...I run mods to make sure I get more of those.

TPP is never, ever more immersive. It's just not possible. That is the inarguable fact. It's..common sense. I'm sure CDPR will wisely recognize this and force you to play in FPP as much as possible. Probably involving some weird Polish oil torture if you don't.

I liked the part where you mentioned your monitors, can you speak more about that?

Well, no wonder you dislike TPP- must be a pain to see so many Sards on the screen, I can sort of relate.

Sard is on crack. The cutscenes in DX were horrible.

MINE were great! Crisp, clean and fun. Watching the AV take off made me smile every time. I ran them across all three of my monitors, a 30 inch main and twin 24 inch side monitors. Very..immersive!

I run a program called Soft TH which allows me to take full advantage of specialized resolutions and maintain the maximum possible crispness my THIRTY INCH Dell, capable of 2560x1600 resomolutions, allows.

It is beautiful.

I am NOT on crack, because it is Friday.

Uhh, I suspected it on your last post, but this confirms it.
Just to make it clear, I was complaining because the pre-rendered cutscenes were so much BETTER than the gameplay and dialogue graphics. Does this mean you agree?

And it's always Friday somewhere. Because timezones.

Pre-rendered cutscenes will always, from this day on to eternity, be better quality than "live" cutscenes run on the game engine. Simple reasons apply. So, it's a question of whether we want rendered video or not. I'm personally a firm believer of having rendered intro and outro videos, and the more there's rendered video in between the better. It's understandable, however, if someone doesn't like the differences between the engine and rendered video.

However, the videos the guys at Blizzard, Square and so on have done, have always been pretty awesome. I'd much rather keep those guys employed, rather than have the game engine run the cutscenes.

For me, it depends how and when the cutscenes appear. I'm not that big a fan of pre-rendered anyway, and I'm assuming we probably won't see it in CP77. But if it is those loading-screen cutscenes, then pre-rendered may be OK, but when it's mixed up with the story, like the one with WIndmill that I mentioned (gameplay to dialogue to pre-rendered to dialogue to gameplay, in fairly quick succession) it doesn't work.

I'd rather those awesome guys at Square sorted out the dialogue animations.

have you used the much simpler "remove avalon filter" mods? I'm talking about the ENB and "real graphics" stuff.

TPP is cool it shows the environment good and gives a better control over a character especially during combat or infiltrate style tasks. Nevertheless I believe there is no other option than switch at any given time to FPP to 'experience' the richness of the World at its best. DAT IT PERIOD(.)

Cutscenes during the loading time that entirely are adjusted to the time of the loading and relate it appropiately...??? WTF??? 1. I thought there no loading screens like TW3 was supposed to be 2 Even if they are I don't want any ass cut scene animation I want cllassic one -> some nice 3-5 concept art passing by -> at least I can watch something interesting and have some insight on game dev...

Ohh. I thought you meant they were worse, because in a couple places, they were. The chat with Zhao Yun Ru at TYM, for example, had somewhat crappier graphics. Unusual enough that I remembered.

My in-game images are pretty great, though. I should grab a screenie.

Hm, I mean, I want there to be storytelling, and some times you need cutscenes to do that.

But I don't think there's any general consensus on this.
There are a lot of games following different ways of storytelling. System shock 2 went for logs and video messages, Half Life was about hinting the story throught the environments, Pathologic did a similar thing to HL (and also provided actual replayability through 3 main characters lying to each other in oder to have different playthroughs with different story bits), while 30 flights of loving is the shortest cinematic game ever (which is the direction action games are going).
Other than that there's a whole layer making parallels with the screenplay/story and myths or poems. Max payne 1 borrows names and elements from norse mythology, while a lot of parallels can be made in human revolution about adam being icarus and sarif/darrow being different shades of daedalus. Knowing this kind of stuff helps since it makes themes, roles and whatnot quite clear to the audience.

I really really hope in a switchable third person and first person wiewe ala new vegas... I have a problem with FPS hybrid things i dislike them so much and if this game is going to have the Deus EX visual i will end to be hugely disappointed.... Now i hope the confirmation from the dev will come soon so we can see how this thing is handled...

It don't have any sense to have visual costumization for a character if you can't see it because you are forced to have a first person wiew and you are only allowed to see your character only when covering....

I liked deus ex but i disliked a lot the fps elements on it... I hope to have a lot more freedoom in that regard in this game..

Fallout 3 and New Vegas are FPS/TPS hybrids. It's the ability to switch between 1st person and 3rd person PoV's, and the ability to play using either that makes it a hybrid. That's most likely how Cyberpunk 2077 will work, if it will have both viewpoints, judging by how the Witcher 3 looks.

I'd like FPP and TPP freely switchable.
I don't know if this is a reliable info, if that is the case I would like to thank CDPP for listening to us.

I'm hoping its more like Fallout where we can toggle between. What I'm more excited about this is that it says SURROUNDING WASTELANDS. :)

I don't mind a hybrid: it could be a toggle or TPP and it makes a transition into FPP. Either way, I'm sure they'll make it work. I just can't wait to hear more about the wasteland and customization.

I admit, TPP with FPP for iron sights/scopes suits me fine, and the customisation options are really high on my wish agenda.

I hope we don't get into the wasteland until fairly late in the game, (unless we start as a nomad,) so that it's really an alien environment to us, as it should be to streetpunks and corporate lapdogs.

TP with ironsights or scoping in FP, I could totally live with that. Games that try to give player choice with this mechanic at any time, are lacking. TES and Fallout TP? Severely lacking. Melee is crap. TP is to see your character and nothing more. Those games are all about FP. DX:HR had a novel concept in implementing TP cover, but in hindsight I'd rather they had created a better FP cover system. And switching in and out of your PC's body is...weird. So please CDPR make it ONE dominant view for the purposes of gameplay. Providing player choice at every turn is not the best way to make a game.
