Cyberpunk 2077 installation size!

Oh, then no worries! You'll be just fine.

The only concern might be a day one patch of some sort -- I don't play on consoles so I'm not sure if those are included on game discs. Assuming not. Hopefully it'll be small for your sake, though.

Best of luck, hope you get to enjoy the game along with the rest of us. :)

Yeah a 1GB or 2GB update file is acceptable. Even updates similar to that size in regular intervals is acceptable.

At least, i will have the whole game on the Blu-ray discs. lol

As it seems, CDPR knows how to make awesome games.

And it would be a shame to miss the opportunity for playing this one.

Thanks for all your help and best of luck to you too. :)

I highly prefer PHYSICAL copies of my entertainment. Too many DVD's,Not enough Bluray player market penetration? NO Prob.

Why doesn't CDPR use SDCARDS? or USB 3.0 pen Drives? They are both now dirt cheap, even ,heck especially in 64 or 128Gb sizes.... think outside the box...Many of us are going to spend many hundreds or thousands (High end PC Upgrades)to play this game, whats 7 or ten more for a USB drive? Buying by the millions would slash costs far beyond even todays bargain basement prices ! THINK! Discuss ? You just charged me 160.00 Canadian $$,for two copies, what's 10 or 20 more for a permanent copy?

while i doubt CDPR will be as slopy the ps4 version of fallout 76 started out much larger than the pc or xbox version. so could be hope for pc and xbox players that maybe ps4 doesnt compress as cleanly and so the ps4 size is inflated. slim chance but hey the slight possibility is there as its happened before with others

RDR2 was 99gb on PS4 and 107gb on Xbox so I don't think that would be a general rule to follow when trying to figure out game size on other consoles/PC. That 80gb will absolutely grow, especially considering the multiplayer being developed. Though they may choose to make that a standalone download

This is just my honest opinion. I really hope multiplayer will be a separate download, 100% standalone because I never intend to play it. I'm staying with the single player portion of the game only, and I would like to avoid the multiplayer parts of the hard drive space. I'm just a single player type of person, and I don't believe I have ever truly enjoyed a multiplayer experience. peace. :)

Yeah, I think it makes it feel more like an option and not so much forced. I'll probably download it but it would be good for those completely not interested to not have to download that game mode

It was said that the Collector's Edition won't have any physical discs for PC (what a bummer), however no specific clarification was made for the standard edition of the game though. Actually the website says that it the SE includes physical discs while the CE clearly indicates that only Consoles will have physical discs. That's kind of confusing.

In my opinion they should include discs, for being DRM free and to reflect GOG as good old games. Tripple-Layer BDs can store files up to 125GB.

It looks like this information was due to some translation errors and caused misunderstanding. There is no Multiplayer in the works apparently.

This is actually a problem related to major publishers and developers. They don't care about optimization that much than CDPR does. It also includes requirements and installation file sizes.
This relates to what I've described in my earlier post here:
I've been reading "Tripple A" quite often lately and I must say that this isn't the term that I like. It's a very misleading term and even though in some cases when it might be justified, the majority of "AAA" is not, since big publisher's favor what is described as quantity not quality games.
What I don't like to see at this point is not actually the fact that CP2077 indeed is considered and described as what "AAA" stands for originally, but more of that the term being used as being put into the damaged boot with the other, major, bad titles that call themselves "Tripple A".

No, the original confusion in that thread was multiple separate games. They then corrected these assumptions by stating what each of the 5 teams was doing. One of the three teams working on Cyberpunk 2077 is the 40 "industry specialists" from the Wroclaw studio that was bought in March 2018. This studio was called Strange New Things and previously worked on multiplayer modes for other games.

"we currently have a total of five teams working on a number of projects, with three focusing on the development of Cyberpunk 2077. These include CD Projekt Red Warsaw and Kraków, who are handling the main game, as well as the Wrocław studio, where around 40 industry specialists are engaged in technology R&D [research and development]. A separate, dedicated team at the Warsaw studio is handling the development of Gwent. The final team is Spokko, which is currently working on a yet unannounced mobile project."

I am hoping we will be allowed to pre download the game, so that those of us with horrible internet can enjoy the game the day it comes out, instead of waiting for possibly a day and a half for the download while everybody else is already enjoying the game.

even that goes to show you cant assume the size of a game based off of the size it is to be on another system

I dunno why everyone is fixating on BD discs. Most gaming rigs don't even have media drives anymore (be it DVD or BD... with the latter being a lot less common among desktop users). If any game developer wants to distribute their large games on a physical media, they should do it with a USB thumb stick instead. Is it far more expensive? Yup... but at least USB is universally used. If nothing else, a USB stick would've been a nice addition to the CE.

Sizes around 100 GB are not that unusual these days and it‘s usually fine if you buy those games in the box.

However, especially with a game that huge and complex, big updates are to be expected sooner or later. Even if the game is very polished.

I used to have a slower internet connection too until two years ago or so... but that became really tricky in the end.
