Cyberpunk 2077 PC Crash Issues

+
Well I just downloaded the update on steam, now on 1.05.

I set the graphics settings back to default (ray tracing on etc) and jumped in and sadly after 10-15 minutes had a similar crash as before.

Error reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0x670.

So I'm back on the roundabout..

This time V T'posed in his final seconds while riding a motorbike

Going to try a complete uninstall/reinstall then start a fresh game. If bust getting a refund (thankyou Australian consumer protection laws)

game still crashes after 1.05, either on boot (redengine screen), or the very moment i get into dialogue, to be specific, dialogue with Placide, voodoo boys base
played it for the first 3 days, until 1.04, with 0 issues what so ever
can not play it eversince
disabled all overlays, installed in a x64 folder, updated all software, no malwares, tried running as admin from the .exe, no luck
btw : is it normal for a game to make a .txt file the moment its booted ?, does not happen on any other games of mine (tw3 for example)
when i try opening the .txt. it says it cannot be accesed, cause its used by another app, in then enters it,and it empty

So after 50 hours of troubleshooting. This is how I solved the Flatlined error with the reason "unhandled exception".

  • Reinstall Nvidia/Amd Drivers.
  • Reinstall the game after deleting all local files from the hidden "appdata" folder in users.
  • Make sure the game gets installed in the same drive where your Windows 10 (20H2-latest update) is installed.
  • Make sure Cyberpunk2077.exe in the bin folder is set to "run as administrator".
  • Verify the integrity of files through Steam.
  • Launched the game. Worked like a charm.

Has anyone who played for a long time (for me it was 30 hours) and then started getting the error:
Error Reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0x0.
Tried starting a new game? If so, does it start doing the same thing?
For me, it specifically crashes whenever I try to leave a zone of night city or use fast travel.
I'm starting to think its my game saves that are corrupted with some weird memory leak or something.

I am at the never fade away mission but every time i enter the dressign room when alt approaches me the game crash at the exact same moment i have tried many things but nothing worked so far anyone with the same problem

Same thing my friend, same thing

FYI for anyone using DS4Windows with a PS4 controller to allow rumble functionality.
Turns out that was the root cause of my constant flatline crash issues since 1.04 update.

Don't have rumble anymore but I've gone the past 18 hours with no crashes.
hope this helps some of you. :)

I resolved my crashing issues on 1.04 by making a partition and install Windows 10 1909 on it, since I was previously running on Windows 7. Was flatlining every time there was a mirror or window scene.
I suppose it's DX12 fault which isn't fully compatible on 7.

So yeah I fixed my crashing issues, gonna wait and see how it will handle on 1.05.

My game's performance used to be very bad tho, on everything set on minimum because of my old GPU, but somehow today I had it working like a charm by disabling the antialiasing through a command-line in the config folder, lowering down the resolution, letting it run like that for some minutes and then go back into full res and I was amazed it was so smooth.
At first the game looked like something from like 10 years ago, but then got used to it and didn't even matter as long as I had a smooth gameplay. Could finally have proper gun fights where I can finally fucking track enemies with no stutters and input lag.

Had an entire 4 hours session, then I had to shut down and restart a bit time later and sadly the game started running bad again. I guess it was pure luck but it's very strange. It was fun until it lasted. I'll try to play again with the settings and see if I can solve this out again.

After following mostly all of the topics and comments..
I was advised to install a supported Windows 10 OS

So this time I have installed Windows 10 20H2 with OS build 19042.685
I have also used DDU to remove all previous drivers.
Then after I have updated to 460.89 and all drivers that were needed for an update.
Installed all Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable packages that are requested as per article below:
The game is not launching — Cyberpunk 2077 | Technical Support — CD PROJEKT RED

SPECS:
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
Memory: 8GB RAM
OS: Windows 10 20H2
OS build: 20H2 (OS Build 19042.685)
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (6 processors)
Running on SSD - Samsung 870 QVO 1TB = butt loads of free space: 700 GB
Running Direct X12 (Updated to the latest drivers)

I am still running on GOG with patch 1.04.
I start both with exe file and via redlauncher, after a few seconds it crashes with the same flatline error message.
But the issue now is no longer my GPU. Before and after patch 1.04, I get the same error message below.

Can you guys help me please what else I can do? I have done every single thing possible.
Even the integrity check shows all files are all okay..

Well, i am afraid i found your problem...

"CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (6 processors) "

This thing is just too old. I tried to get the game running on an X6 1090T myself, but after some research, i came to the conclusion that it will most likely never happen.
It is missing some important instruction sets, not just AVX, so there is no community fix for it.
Even the much faster successor AMD FX-8370 is barely "strong" enough to run the game on 30 FPS... :-/

OMG! I Upgraded from a 1090T like 4 years ago and it was old as dirt then!!!!

Crashing now seems to be fixed for me, have returned GPU settings to normal and all ok; so not a hardware fault.

Turns out my Windows installation must have been corrupted.
Post automatically merged:

Check your OS for problems, also downclock the GPU. Worked for me; I'm now stable - will soon return the GPU to stock and retest.

Run a chkdsk on your EVO and also a sfc /scannow on the OS. I have the exact same drive and had a bad block on it (the game is installed on a different drive). I also downclocked my GPU by 20% for testing but now I'm stable.
Update: Confirmed now stable and not a hardware fault; have returned clocks to 100% and all working fine.

Howdy.

I'm about 40 hours into this game. Apparently i'm running 1.05 now. Since Friday, on 1.04, none of my saved games will load. That's from the beginning of the game till now. I get to the loading screen (when the police PR person is being interviewed on that TV show), and the game just crashes. I never make it in game.

I'm well and truly lost and out of ideas.

I've tried multiple re-installs. 'Verifying' my cache doesn't even seem to work. (a 29 MB download that does nothing?)

Anyone have a direction to point me in to try and fix? After 1.05 has done nothing, I don't want to start the game over. I'm beyond frustrated. :/

I have posted before, but thought I would give an update.

Here is the timeline so far:

- Release day try to play the game, as soon as I try to sit down in that chair in the beginning of the Corpo playthrough, the game crashes.
- Smart cookie on this thread gives a HexEdit solution that works for me. I am able to play for hours till I quit.
- Come back a couple of days after and see a new release and apply it. App crashes on startup.
- Another smart cookie suggests verifying the files on my Steam install, then applying the HexEdit again. This works like a charm and I am able to play many hours till I quit.
- Come back to my system this morning and run the game directly from the executable (which I have been doing since it started working to avoid steam messing with it). This time it crashes on startup. I do see that it looks like windows applied some updates automatically.
- I uninstall the windows updates and restart. Still crashes at startup.
- I update the Nvidia drivers
- I see there is an update, so I run it.
- Run verify and some files need to be replaced, this happens.
- Try to run app, crashes at startup.
- Attempt to do the HexEdit fix again, only to find that the hex value "554881ECA00000000F2970E8" is no longer found in the executable.
- Decide to let all Windows updates to install, in case the latest update for CP2077 requires any of it. Working on this now.

My setup is in my sig, but this is just funky. Still browsing this thread since the last time I was in a few days ago, but not seeing any more things to try.

Cheers,
R

Just update to 1.05 today. I have 104 hours in game, and got through a corpo run without any crashes whatso ever, but after I got this update, it started to crash non-stop every 50 mins or so. My steup is, i9-9900k, 2070 super, 32 gb; no overclock.
What is happening?

After 1.05 game still crashes in random place every 5-15 minutes. I've tried every fix on the website, nothing works.

9900k, 2080Super, 32gb ram, m.2 ssd.

I think I'm done with this sorry excuse of a fully priced release of a beta version.
Still getting the same crash after 5-10 minutes. Tried all suggestions, even tried to play at lowest settings. "GPU crashed for unknown reason" is all I get from the game.
