Still crashing on 1.05, went so far as to reinstall windows 10 and the game with full updates but to no avail. Unhandled exceptions every 5 minutes, this game is borked.

Found the root of my crashing within 5-10mins of playing. My ram was boosting at 3600 with xmp. I turned it off and lowered the speed a tad to around 3444. Running a very slight oc on my gpu. and stock cpu. No more crashes at all. zero. I know if i oc my gpu it would crash in a couple minutes. But not anymore. Check your overclocks and bring everything back to stock. Im also running overlays as well MSI, iCUE, xbox game bar etc etc

Hope this helps!

I debugged the game with x64dbg and found 2 things:
Crashed thread used nvrtum64.dll and nvptxJitCompiler64.dll
It also might be a race condition, because the thread tried calling something from an already deleted/moved by another thread object. This might be related to wwise lib from AK.
All is just my suggestion I had some exp with C++ but not pro Win C++ dev.

Hey everyone, I finally can enter the game, I've been unable to open the game since December 10th because of this error:

Error reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0x0.
File: <Unknown>(0)

I tried everything I can do but nothing happens like updating the driver, reinstall the game, check integrity, reinstall VC++ redistributable, even upgrade my window to 20H2.

But yesterday I When I wanted to give up, I suddenly realized that if this game has some compatibility problems, and I ran the compatibility troubleshooter. AND IT WORKS!!! I FINALLY CAN ENTER THE GAME RATHER THAN CRASHED AT THE CDPR LOGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Specific solution:
1. Go to cyberpunk 2077 directory
2. And go to the ~\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64 find the Cyberpunk2077.exe
3. Right click it and select run compatibility troubleshooter
4. Follow the guide and agree with the setting (it will provide a test button to help you to test)

I don't know whether this solution will solve the same error with another address (like 0x7D9B0 or other) but I think the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION is probably a compatibility problem, maybe the outdated window version is incompatible with the game, maybe the outdated DX12 is incompatible with the game setting.......

Hope my solution works for you too :)

PS I've been playing for hours now, no crashing

Update- had constant crashes until I set my GPU (2080 Super) to default overclock and disabled nvidia GeForce experience overlay. This overclock has been running fine from day one. Wtf is happening

Looks like not many of you guys read the thread, just complain all the time :)

Once again, turning OFF hardware acceleration in Windows 10 TOTALLY solved GPU crashes for me. Yesterday I was playing the whole day on 1.04 and didn't get a single crash! Just some occasional glitches.

BTW the game runs pretty smooth on high settings for some reason, unlike prettty bad performance for the first week, when it was crashing like every 5 minutes.

And I must say, that the game is just gorgeous, really sorry for CD RED that it had probably the worst launch ever :(

I have 2 pc's (Gigabyte Gaming OC 3070, 3700X) and (EVGA 1080 SC, 6700K)

The 3700x - no issues or bug have played over 100 hours

the 6700K - Can not get started, crashes just after character creation on 1st scene on all 3 lifepaths

After trying everything for the past week, I swapped cards and found it is the 1080 that is crashing - even when in nvidia debug mode or underclocked, it is a factory OC - EVGA SC 1080

So the issue it seems for a few of us that cards with a factory OC are crashing due to a DX call - I really hope this can be looked at as I feel guilty playing it while my son cant, I have now left him with the 3070 to actually play some of the game while I try to work out the issue. I dont want to have to spend $900 AU + to just play the game when the 1080 kicks ass (for its age) in every other game we play without any issues whatsoever...

And here I though I'm the only one with the unknown GPU crash.
I tried every possible in-game setting, tried every piece of possible solutions from the forums, still nothing.
Getting sick of this. Still only at the beginning.
The crashes happen during loading scene as well. Just let the game run with "press space to continue". This is obviously in game graphics also. After some time (10s - 5min) game will crash with the mentioned crash log.

Here is something you can do to bring these Crashes into perspective...:cry::giveup:

Code:
press: Win+R
enter without quotes: "%appdata%" + hit enter
go to: ...\AppData\Local\REDEngine\ReportQueue
these are all the crash reports you gathered since installation...

zipped files are the reports sent to CDPR, folders are local reports but not sent to CDPR (just a guess)

:cool:ZIP : 34

:ohstopit: FOLDERS : 48

that means in 28hrs playtime(atm), my game crashed 48 times and 34 reports got sent to CDPR...

im courious, what are your numbers?

ps.: always hit the BLUE button before ragequit :ok:

Started deleting them a while back. But accumulating all the crashes since release I'd say I'm at about 300 each. Takes some time to try to find a solution

Some people suggested slow HDD mode but that didn't help (game is on SSD)
Disabled all overlays
Deleted the folder in Appdata which helped someone above

Same here, still crashes

One of my friends solved updating GPU firmware/BIOS, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Can't find the troubleshooting tab to disable hardware acceleration (many GPU do not have this option, is what I found)

Latest Win10 20H2
Latest Nvidia Drivers from a few days ago
RTX 2070 (no overclock of sorts)
i5 6600K

UNSURPRISINGLY, with my 2nd boot on Windows7 the game was working, just to crash badly and restart the pc causing various automatic windows fix to the hard drives, so I'm not gonna compromise stability just to play 10 minutes and crash.

1.05 didn't solve the problem for me.

Still unable to start the game, played 2 hours under windows 7 with 10 crashes.

UNPLAYABLE.
