So, my friend tried to start CP since last Sunday, he gave up. Could not even start it, flatline error.

Decided to play something else, installed NFS Heat and Horizon Zero Dawn, played a little and decided to try again from the scratch. Installed CP, and it started. It f*****g works.

He is not gonna sleep tonight!

I believe that those two games installed something, or repaired something that was broken/missing.

In my case all the crashes were because my virtual RAM (swap) was not enough in w10.

I made it bigger following this tutorial https://www.tomshardware.com/news/how-to-manage-virtual-memory-pagefile-windows-10,36929.html

And now I can play at least

I fixed crashing and freezing problems the brute force way.
I did a 100% clean reinstall of W10, installed all W10 updates, installed latest NVIDIA drivers.
And now I'm already playing for almost an hour without crashes or anything.
Had all the latest updates etc also before reinstallation, but it crashed, flatlined, freezed etc on me all the time.
I got suspicious when I saw that - when running Assassin's Creed Valhalla that also has crashing issues etc - Valhalla doesn't see that I have an RTX-enabled card. Hmmm...
I don't have the slightest clue why my system got corrupted, because I'm quite keen on keeping my system clean and in good shape.

CP Patch version 1.05
W10 Pro 10.0.19042
i7-7700K
32GB RAM
Samsung NVMe EVO860 512GB.
MOBO: Asus Aorus Z270X-Gaming 5

PS: I have no AV running whatsoever to keep risk of interference as low as possible.

The game has constantly crashed every time i try to start a new life path. It has happen at least 10 times and I have done and tried nearly every fix but nothing is working, including validating game files. To give context my pc specs are: Rtx 3080 2700x which will be a 5950x soon 32 gb of ram 3600mhz (xmp on) 2 ssds

Every other game i have run well and there aren't any issues. Is this just a stability issue/game issue that should be patched soon?

Game always crashes shortly after combat with Royce begins (or even when trying to sneak past him).

Intel i9-9880H, 64G RAM, Radeon Pro 5500M.

Patch 1.05 didn't fix the issue.

Same problem here (GOG version). Can play for hours doing side stuff with no problem but every time I get to the last room "The Pickup" it crashes. Have tried siding with Royce an have even tried shooting it out. Have tried complete restarts an still no luck.

So I was playing the game normally first few days with the usual stuff. Bugs, bad optimization, etc but that didn't bother me as i liked the game a lot. But out of nowhere, it started auto crashing 60 seconds into starting up. It would just freeze and then tell me the game has Flatlined and that if i wanted to send a report. So i uninstalled/reinstalled the game and it worked. The next day it stopped working again except this time uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't help at all. I've tried all the other options of disabling all the 3rd party apps i can, overlays, tried to use HDD over SSD and nothing seems to work. Not even directly starting the game from it's folders .exe file worked as suggested by an official forum post here. I sent in a ticket about this a few days ago but pretty silent so far.

Anyone else experience this and was able to fix it?

@raybros13 I merged your thread here. If I misunderstood your post, and the issue is not with a PC, shoot me a private message and I'll get it to the right thread.

The game was working fine for me up until some point over the weekend. It is the first game I've gotten properly into in quite a while, it really is brilliant, kudos to everyone involved. But now it keeps on crashing every 5 minutes or so, and I'm not sure what to do. I tried all the steps on this page here and at first, it seemed to have been fixed, but sadly that turns out to have been wishful thinking on my part.

Ryzen 5 3600
16GB DDR3 3600 Mhz
512 GB NVME
RX 580 OC <--- I do appreciate that this is a bottleneck but as I say the game was working fine (with everything on high) until the weekend. Now even when I lower all the settings it still crashes. Before the weekend, sure there was the odd gameplay glitch, but the game had never crashed in its entirety; whereas now it is crashing several times per hour.

try uninstalling and reinstalling visual c++ runtime from MS site before installing/reisntalling cyberpunk, might help too
or
AIO installers like this one https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/visual_c_redistributable_runtimes_aio_repack.html

I have tried everything in their fix list, heck even resetted my whole laptop to factory reset and reinstalled the Nvidia drivers too (also I seem to have a problem with the Control panel of Nvidia, even the people there don't know what the problem is, LOL)

Hey guys, im playing it on a i5 750 4ghz OC, RX 570 8gb 1400/2000 OC, 16gb DDR3 2000mhz and Windows 7.
The first days was a crashing mess: the AVX crash, crashing at CDPR logo, crashing in game, crashing changing graphic options... what solved all my crashes was to use the AVX fix (that now with 1.05 is not necessary) and rollback the graphics driver from 20.12.1 to 20.4.2, since i did this i havent got any crash more even with the cpu and gpu overclocked.

The issue that im getting (not counting bugs) is an annoying vram memory leak ,no matter the settings that i use, that starts to get filled until maxes out all the 8gb and then the game is an unplayable stuttering mess. When this happens i have to reboot the game again and i can play for another hour or so before rebooting it again...

Im considering seriously to upgrade to windows 10 because probably i'll get better performance because of native DX12 (now i get about 35fps on medium/high settings 1080p) but i dunno if i will get new annoying issues.

Hope this helps you guys
up until the most recent patch I was having almost no problems, then with 1.05 I could not stay in the game more then 1 minute before it crashed. I tried most of the solutions above and none worked.

Then I realized most the issues around the game crashes relate to mission problems. So I went back to a save file that was before the mission I was on currently (my save was just before meeting Royce in the Pickup line) that was on a previous side job and not the main quest. And its working just like before the patch. no crashing and smooth play. I have not tried to restart the mission yet to see if it works now and that the patch just bugged out the save on that mission or something weird like that.

The crash i was getting was also logging as
Application: MSI_LED.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException

Don't know if this helps anyone else but...it helped me.

I had to do the following to get my game to work/:
  • Set windows power management to "high performance."
  • Delete all of the files in the directory in the attached image anytime I want to change a graphics setting. This will reset most settings and you set them BEFORE loading your saved game. I could NOT get RT and DLSS to work at all without doing that.
  • Play game at 1080P windowed (any higher and it crashes).
Otherwise it will give me the gpuapidx12error.cpp(40) error with a RTX 2080 and EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION with an RTX 2060 on the same computer. I also overclocked my RTX 2080 using the MSI afterburner scanner, but I don't think this changed anything because it never exceeded the boost clock of 1980 MHz.

I have repeated the file deletion several times. On my RTX 2060, the game will instantly crash when starting the game after the game crashes in-game once. Deleting the files allows the game to load again. On my RTX 2080, the game will run for a while on Ultra settings and then crash (random up to 1 hour). If I enable RT and DLSS, then it crashes within minutes. Doing the list above fixes this issue on the RTX 2080. I didn't try RT/DLSS on the RTX 2060 because I got it working on the RTX 2080.

It should be noted that these files were not in the same directory on the 1.04 patch. They were in the main game directory. They moved here with 1.05.

Ryzen 3900x
GB Master x570
32GB G.Skill 4000 clocked at 3800
3x MP600 raid 0
GB 2070 Super
Windows 10 20H2
All drivers up to date.

This game has turned in to a right mess. 1.04 I was getting the occasional flatline during game, may it be a phone call or just something needed to load and the game not loading the asset and crashing. Fine new game I can live with it for now, it was playable up to 35 hours until I followed Judy on the highway and the car started sinking through the road then the screen went black and the PC froze. I then started getting memory leak errors, severe errors that would take down my Windows Kernel and the system would just hang, At any point it would crash and on 1.05 it's worse, at just starting the game before the main menu to starting a game save and the screen goes black on the loading screen with subtitles appearing with no audio, in game objects would disappear then seconds later the game would freeze as well as the whole PC forcing a hard shutdown(this has nearly corrupted Windows so I've made backups just in case). I've tried everything to fix this albeit not a lot, different Nvidia drivers, uninstalling the game and manually cleaning the registry. I grabbed a copy to manually install the game just in case the install from GOG is corrupted as I've already reinstalled the game twice on GOG. I managed to get the game to play this morning and slimmed my inventory down as I had thousands of common and uncommon items, worked for a couple of hours and now back to objects disappearing and PC locking up, new saves fail to load and crash.

I've done stress tests and the machine seems stable.

I've played this game on low graphics, windowed low resolution nothing makes a difference.

I've just installed the game for the fifth time, launched a save that I thought worked and the PC hangs.
