Info update..

If i run Cyberpunk 2077 without verifying/repairing the installation, the game would crash within 10-15 minutes.
But after i verify/repair the game installation, the game would run without any crashes.
But if I close the game, and later run the game again,, It would crash again in 10-15 minutes..
And when i verify/repair the installation again, it run flawlessly without any crashes..

So, in my case,, If I run the game after verifying/repairing the game files, it would run normally..
Every verify/repair process, I don't know why, GOG always download around 29MBs of data.. Even when I previously did the same thing, It will download the same amount of data.

I don't know which files it downloads, but in the end.. I can play Cyberpunk 2077 peacefully..

I wanted to post the same thing yesterday, but the game finally crashed again after 4 1/2 hours. I always get the "cyberpunk has flatlined" message with the following error message:

Message: Gpu Crash for unknown reasons! Callstack here is probably irrelevant. Check if Breadcrumbs or Aftermath logged anything useful.
File: e:\r6.patch0hotfix2\dev\src\common\gpuapi\src\dx12\gpuapidx12error.cpp(40)

The crashes are absolutely random, they appear after several minutes or several hours - after a system restard as well as after restarting the game directly after a ctd. Today it crashed for the first time during the intro movie. The longest time i played without a crash was nearly 8 hours with version 1.05. In fact i didn't crash a single time with version 1.05.

My system:

Ryzen 7 2700x
32GB RAM @ 3000MHz
RTX 2070
Game runs on a SATA ssd drive

Funny/Sad extra info:

I just got my system back from a waranty repair, the gpu was broken and causing ctd's. That's why i'm very unsure, if my system or the game is the reason for the crashes. I tested 3 other games for several hours and didn't experience a single ctd, those games are Control, Hunt Showdown and Holdfast Nations at War

Very weird, I never had one single crash since release day on any patches, I think this could be related to specific rigs.
My PC: 3700x, 2080 OC, Asus Strix x570 mobo, 16GB Ram 3600mhz CL14, Game installed on 970 EVO Plus m.2

ok... in all fairness I get the devs need a break... but it looks like mid Jan before they patch any of these (showstopper) issues... would be great if they would at least acknowledge these crashes and that they're looking into it instead of assuming it's all end user / system issues. I'm an game dev / engineer as well, this is crunch time here also, I work 12+ hour days (more like 20hr/day lately), I got xmas eve/day and new years day off (and that's it!), but I don't have millions of crashing customers... not saying suck it up, glad y'all getting a break here, but someone at CDPR needs to poke their head up and say "these are the issues we're looking at for next patch / hotfix".

I'm starting to think this, going to try installing my windows on a new SSD, my current Windows is on an older SSD (about 8 years old now after checking last night)
If it continues i'm going to have to trouble shoot the Graphics Card, still I know Cyberpunk has issues but shouldn't be this demanding on certain hardware, realistically no overclocks on my system should only need 650w PSU, so a 2 year old 850w should be able to handle it, unless obviously it's gone faulty (but faulty on one game only?)
After testing it a few times and using some stress tests I decided to reset my BIOS to defaults and start a complete new windows install. Now everything is running smooth.
Original issue was caused by the ram I think not getting enough vaults, I updated the BIOS to latest firmware and the DOCP profile (AMD Board version of XMP) now is running as it's meant too.
So can't blame the game, it pushed my system over my ram overclock settings or the BIOS version wasn't sending enough vaults to the ram. But all now fixed.

Weird thing happened to me, Did exactly the same thing, and when I reinstalled amd radeon software master, my cpu was being used and my ram wasn't melting. Before the master wasn't picking up cpu at all and my vram was dying. The game still crashes for me though. But I have hope after the windows reinstall. Game is not crashing after 5 mins, but 10! Expectations are so low now.

Nice! Glad this worked for you... at first I was like what is a RAM "vault" until I sounded it out, lol! I did try something similar as there was a newer bios for my EVGA x299 board (existing one was only a couple months old anyway though cuz I just built this machine), and I forgot that I did have my RAM using the XMP profile @ 3200, but it's rated for 4000 and has passed every memory test I've thrown at it. Really shouldn't be an issue, though I did set it back to default timings, and still no luck... mundo bizarro. I've been building my own PCs for decades and have had memory go bad before, and it's really hard to ignore when it happens all sorts of strange things happen in the OS/softwares as well, not just a single game.

What kind of crash is it? BSOD or CTD "flatline"... if you get prompted with a flatline error there should be a link to the stack trace at the time of the crash. You should send it to CDPR of course, but you can also attach it here as someone might be able to help.

It's a CTD Flatline, every time.

bizarre... yeah, I had tried to start a new/different life path as well with no luck. I wonder how relevant these stack traces really are... mine has nvidia drivers/compilers at the bottom, yours has online office stuff... I had wondered if the game was attempting to store something in a cloud attached directory like one drives... I say this also because Wicther 3 did that, and windows controlled folder access prompted me about it, but up until then, none of my saves in Witcher were actually saving but the game was none the wiser and just kept letting me play. Equal parts frustrated, baffled and curious.

bizarre... yeah, I had tried to start a new/different life path as well with no luck. I'm not sure about the office stuff...to wit, I don't do any online office stuff, and I have nothing similar installed on this machine. I really want to play Cyberpunk...but this is just killing it. Literally. And the weird part is, I was doing fine as a Street Kid, up until the 1.06 hotfix. I had 50 street cred, and was level 37. I was closing in on the end of the story, and had a nice legendary sniper, smart shotgun, and a highly upgraded version of the gun Nash had. Good cyberware, and some really nice pieces of legendary armor. On top, I had the Javelin and the Coyote (my personal favorites) plus the Caliburn and a Kusanagi bike. Now, I can't do anything with ANY of it.

Seriously wish I knew how to fix this.

yup, I feel ya, I was just as invested (also street kid, max cred, level in the 30s don't remember, wasn't really paying attention aside from checking level against weapons unlock level), also near the end and I even went quite a few side quests I didn't have to because I was enjoying the game and didn't want it to end yet. Even if I could start a new game with a different life path, I'm not really interested yet, because I'm invested in finishing the story I "picked". I'm sure I'll come back and do the others some other time, but yeah, 'killing it' is an understatement, and I've had this issue (not being able to play at all) since an hour after 1.05 dropped. I lurk here on a separate monitor while I'm working just hoping they drop a fix, lol!

Also I think things like onecore and webio is probably low level stuff that came with your windows install even if office isn't installed.

After long path with debbuging 2 errors:

I'm found solution how to FIX game crashes. Cyberpunk 2077 very very sensitive to overclock (CPU/RAM) - after disable OC. I have 6 hours of gameplay without crashing (before it was every ~15min crash). After a few hours of manual OC I'm found very very stable values for overclock.

P.S. It very strange situation because I didn't have some problems with my previous overclock and Auto OC in different others "AAA" games, but I'm very happy than I'm found how to fix my game crashes.

This is my previous steps which didn't solve game crashes:
Uninstall GPU drivers with DDU and clean install.
Disable overlays like steam, nvidia geforce expirience, etc.
Verifying game files in steam.
Run game Windowed borderless.
Run game/launcher as Administrator
Windows 10 Update to latest major 20H2
Move game from different storage drives (SSD/HDD/ another SSD)
Install nvidia drivers 460.79 / 460.89 / experimental geforce-hotfix-driver-version-460.97
and ETC.

I wasn't having any problems with crashing until the latest patch (or maybe the one before) and now it crashes very often; not just the game but my entire PC locks up, i.e. doesn't respond to pings over the network either. Only way out is to hit reset, which doesn't always work, oddly, or hold in the power button.

No idea what it is: I've tried all the usual stuff, checking fans, temperatures, upping cooling, turning off all OCing, AV stuff interfering with it, checking any add-ons, fiddled with this that and the other system setting, memory tests, upgrading and downgrading graphics drivers but nothing seems to consistently help. Doubt the GPU is suddenly poorly or if the PSU doesn't have enough to spare as I got one with plenty of headroom and previous games played recently have been more demanding.

Symptoms are sudden black screen and (usually) loud buzzing through headphones which may or may not stop after a couple of seconds. PC becomes totally unresponsive. Nothing shows up in event logs after restart.

Nearly every time it's in the game menu rather than roaming about or in battle; a couple of times when trying to travel or load and once in dialogue. The "black screen, buzzing, locked-up PC when I was in the menu" is something a few other people have reported too, so it's not just me.

I don't think it's hardware-related but it's an Intel i7 6700K, Asus Strix 270H Gaming, 32GB DDR4, rather old ATI R9 390, on-board RAID-1 on WD Red (Black? Blue? Dunno, can't remember) HDDs, NEC 2690WUXi monitor, KVM for keyboard/mouse, audio could be either AMD on-board or Soundblaster Audigy FX.

Wow, I just came in here because I've only had one bluescreen from this game myself, but only a few crashes and they were directly caused by me, for altering the game code.. 130 pages, my gawd.

GUYS very important to know what I realized after 30 + hours of gameplay about crashes (on W7, GTX 1080):
- crashes are random
- OC worsen the crashes
- you can actually bypass it:

-most important of all > lowering maximum FPS in game settings (for example to 20) will stop crashing.
If there is some place that causes you instant crash after load, just try to limit fps! You can bypass the problem.
Let me know if its working for you.

Now the question is - what is the connection (and solution, because lowering fps is just annoying) between fps, graphics drivers, OC, DX12 support and these crashes???

seems obvious... you limit the work load on your system by limiting the maximum fps. try ti downclock your gpu and see if problem persists with unlocked fps.

plenty of possible reasons, but certainly something wrong with your hardware. memory, psu and gpu are likely candidates. would suggest to search online for troubleshooting guides.

bsod was not caused by the game, not even if you manually screwed the game.
