If the hardware is not supported, you can’t expect the game to run properly. There’s a reason why system requirements are released.

You can still try to reach out to support (I already mentioned how you can do that) but you can’t expect a good solution for the problem if the hardware isn’t good enough. In some cases lower all settings to the minimum might work, in others that might not be enough.

Listen, its common fact that "minimum" and "required" specs are not the end all be all of game compatability and are usually generic garbage that isn't accurate to a game's in real world performance, the fact is that even if X58 Xeons may be older, some are far faster than the 3rd gen intel chips you so eagerly "recommend"

The Xeon processors Br3adfish and I are using are benchmarked as being faster, all around better at games than the required/recommended.

Can you give more info on this? I was able to download Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 all fine. But when I try to download the others (2008 - 2013), it keeps redirecting me to here - https://my.visualstudio.com/Benefits and I need a subscription with no way that I can tell of downloading the files. Do I need 2008 - 2013 or is it just 2015 - 2019?

You don't need older version. Just these two:

If it’s good enough that’s fine. But you are not the only ones posting in this thread.

Performance is good, even with Ultra + RTX On.

Im Using:
i9-9900k

I understand this, but i dont know your technical experience (from my point of view that you are "just" supporter).

I would bet that a i7 2600k wont cause crashes as it supports AVX instruction set - and its still below your minimum requirement.

The game would definitly run slower because i7 2600k is Quadcore, and the one-gen-older Xeon W3690 is a Hexacore.

If you need a specific instruction set for running a game flawless, you should mention it. The game even doesnt check for it while launching, just crashes when trying to execute illegal instruction (hence the error EXCEPTION_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION )

As @OtherSideGuy sayd: system requirements are usually garbage. I play like since 5years+ below minimum required CPU and games run a lot faster than with minimum required CPUs. And most important: they run without crashing at certain points.

And this is for all other X58 CPUs from 2008-2011 users in this thread have, not just me and @Bucyrus5000 ;)
Maybe there should be a separate thread discussing the AVX issue, i feel its not good that every crash with definitely other reasons is mixed up here.

ps: Horizon Zero Dawn had this same issue too, it got fixed. Please be nice, thank you ;)

Game crashes at launch. Just a shame.

Win10-64, 16Gb, GTX970-4Gb, Nvidia 460.79 drivers.

Error reason: Assert
Expression: <Unknown>
Message: Gpu Crash for unknown reasons! Callstack here is probably irrelevant. Check if Breadcrumbs or Aftermath logged anything useful.

My old X5690 would kick that i5 3570k's ass over and over again in any way shape or form, the issue isnt the performance of our machines, its the lackluster bug fixing and code mess that this game is on day 1. You know, after 7 years and countless delays I'd expect the game to at least work well enough to play with some bugs, not be literally crashfest 2020 edition

It's RIDICULOUS one "has" to go through all this REDISTRIBUTABLES crap just to play a damn game (and it doesn't even work acording to some users).
Never had to do this for a single game so far. It's not that, I was able to play around 30 minutes with no issues on high/ultra on a potato PC...so Red should stop advising ppl to go though all that crap process! There's ppl out there playing the game with no issues with all those Redistributables they deem uninstall/reinstall!

With the Corpo start you are told after about 2min of play to sit in a chair. If I try my game crashes.
Already tried updating my graphics driver and it changed nothing.
