Cyberpunk 2077 PC Crash Issues

+
Never had issues until v1.62, now it's crashing at random points, entering inventory, cut scenes, just walking around with no combat, during combat. Submitted bug reports.

Edit - Forgot to add that characters also T-pose at random points during starting tutorial with T-Bug.

Since 1.63 I can play for some time until the game will eventually flatline. It's weird. Sometimes I can play for a while without crashing and other times it'll crash while in-game or right after launching the game. This game is just weird.

Wonder if it's some kind of data access and writing issue?

Crashing randomly is almost always a system config or hardware issue. Basics always apply:

1.) Specs? Including Windows and GPU driver version.
2.) Are you using any mods, or have you ever used any in the past?
3.) Verify / repair the installation via GOG, Steam, Epic, etc.
3.) Be sure you've installed the Microsoft Redistributable All-in-One pack from microsoft.com
4.) Aggressive antivirus (McAffee, Norton, Comodo, etc.) can and will cause issues with games. Be sure the entire platform installation path and game libraries have been added to the exceptions list.

At the end of the search and destroy mission, when V collapses and johnny takes over and we end up in pacifica on the balcony. My game keeps crashing after i answer the question in the image below and i don't know if this has anything to do with the patch because im pretty sure it crashed even before the patch. I have tried everything i could think of buy failed to fix it. Please help

Do you use (or used) mods?
It only at this moment, the game run fine everywhere else?
First, check on this page to try everything that CDPR advise when the game crash.

I don't use or have ever used mods i bought the game this summer sale. I haven't ever had a crash up until now and i have played for close to 40 hours i think. I also checked the page and can tell you that i have tried everything there and more.
So yea only at this moment does it crash. I can load older saves its fine but if i get past that dialogue option it crashes.

Ok, so not sure what it could be :(
I would say to try to clean-install your drivers in case, but it's on the page, so I guess you already did try.
Maybe also try to disable Ray Tracing or Path Tracing if they're enabled.
At least, you can send a ticket to the support ("Contact Us" button on the page I posted) including a DxDiag, your save and as much details as possible.

Hello, I have a problem with the game Cyberpunk 2077, it often crashes, 1) When trying to take a screenshot (very often) when pressing the "Space" key. 2) Just during the game in different locations, this moment occurs at different times, maybe after 50 minutes of play, or maybe after 5–10 minutes. Also, very rarely immediately after starting the game. Steam version of the game is 1.63
I don't use mods at all.
My laptop: Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3-15ACH6
AMD Ryzen 5 5600H
RAM: 16 GB
GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB
Windows 11 Pro
I've also attached the DxDiag file for more details.

Hi,
Ok, so I assume you never used mods previously.
You don't run any OC on your CPU/GPU or even RAM (XMP)?
Did you try monitoring you CPU/GPU/RAM while playing to see if something wrong before or when the game crash?
In order, if you didn't :
- Verify the game files in case.
- Clean install of your drivers.
I. Download the latest Game Ready drivers using the following link: https://www.geforce.com/drivers
II. Download Display Driver Uninstaller and run it to remove previous versions of drivers.
III. Clean install drivers that you've downloaded in step 1.
And about the crashes while taking a screenshot, check if "by chance", the Path Tracing option is enabled or not for screenshots in the game settings (if it's enabled, disable it).

- As for the first point, there was no overclocking of RAM, CPU, GPU.
- When you turn on the photo mode, there is a noticeable drop in FPS from 45-50 to 25 and below. In addition, when you try to take a screenshot, there is an even more significant drop in FPS, which can potentially cause crashes. - Sometimes crashing occurs when trying to customize graphics settings.
- I have checked the integrity of the game's files in STEAM many times, periodically after each crash.
- In the game settings, path tracking is not available due to the lack of support for the GTX 1650 graphics card.
- I uninstalled the drivers with DDU and installed the latest versions, but it didn't solve the problem.
- Unfortunately, I could not find a solution to this problem.

This could be due to the time it takes for the gpu to respond. The big hickup that happends when taking a screenshot especially could do this. Sometimes windows assumes the GPU has hanged when it just hasent hade the time to respond and it generally results in a crash and possibly a recovery. Its called TDRdelay and it can be adjusted but it requires a regedit and will reset due to driver/windows updates.

Hello,

The game crashes just before reaching the first menu.

I tried cleaning the files, verify/repair, unistalling the game and also trying all the previous versions available (from 1.62_PathTracing to the 1.63_Hotfix).

Nothing works, I noticed the animated Cyberpunk logo freezes for a few seconds before resuming the animation.

There is no error message when the game crashes.

If anyone had a similar problem and solved it, I'm all ears!

Thank you very much!

Hey all,

Is anyone else having a problem where if you kill with a throwing knife while jumping, the game crashes?
or is this also for the new execution option?
(I reinstalled the game and do not use any mods.)

I've got the same problem. Sometimes I can advance to finish the character creation, but I can't get the game to run. it's incredible that so many people are having this kind of problem, and more after the initial launch of the game.

ditto me too, i completely scrubbed my system, only thing left are the save files. updated all my drivers. re installed the game to my limited ssd space, start a new game with street punk. finish character creation, then two seconds into the start cut scene the game crashes completely?!? i created a whole new account just to complain about it. i rocked with cdproject red after the initial launch, thinking "well its now what i expected or hoped, but its a good middle of the road game". now after this is supposed to be the redemption update, to the point where they are even saying to restart your campaign.... and the fucking thing still doesnt work?!?!?!?!? are you kidding me?!? I managed to at least boot the game, that's some progress lol. Now I crash everytime I choose a path (nomad, corpo, etc) or gender selection screen, can't get past that.

About to just cancel the pre-order and uninstall because jesus christ this is frustrating. After 5 min of playing it just crashes to desktop. Every damn time. Updated drivers, verified game files etc. No mods. Cannot figure out what the damn issue is. Just get this error:

Version=1
EventType=REDEngineErrorReport
EventTime=0
ReportIdentifier=ffffffff-ffffffff-00000001-00000000
Sig[0].Name=StackHash
Sig[0].Value=0x0000000000000000
Sig[1].Name=ErrorReason
Sig[1].Value=Unhandled exception

Just sitting here shaking my head at this point. Loved the game, unfortunately.

Same issue here. Im having more issues with 2.0 than I ever did at launch...
Keeps either crashing at launch or while loading right after character creation.
GPU drivers up to date. Have done 4 clean installs by now. Nothing works.

If anyone is getting Watchdog timeout I suggest checking if your windows is up to date. I was struggling with the game and I couldn't even choose a path for my character. I tried updating my windows through settings > Windows update and although it all downloaded and installed, it didn't fully update my windows.
So I googled "Windows 10 update" ( I'm using Windows 10), clicked the first Microsoft link and there was a blue button saying "Update now". It downloads app called Windows 10 upgrade. When you run it, it downloads and installs the newest update. After all of that I can play Cyberpunk 2077 2.0.
I'm also using the newest drivers for my GPU (GTX 3060)

Hope this helps
