Very nice game, got it by steam gift from friend of mine, so I cant do a refund)))))). Also I cant even launch the game, cuz every time I press "Play", all I can see its crash report.... Tried to reinstall drivers for GPU and tried to disable all overlays, still it doesnt help. But still I hope that CDPR will fix that issue soon.
My setup:
i7 8700k
gtx 1080
16 ram

It works on 2/3 of my computers.
The computer is doesn't work on IS below the minimum requirements, however I cannot get the game to open at all. Had no problems in other games, even if they run bad they still run.

Tried all the solutions and it still won't open.

Do you have same Windows on all your computers?
What version on the computer that works?

Turned off overlays, reinstalled game, verified game files, wiped and reinstalled graphic drivers. Still crashes as soon as I click "Play".

How do you verify game files? And probably a stupid question too, but do you need to turn off all overlays, even if it has nothing to do with it?

For example, I turned off the ones that may have affected it directly (Steam & GeoForce, which I've actually uninstalled as per their recommendations).

Do I need to also turn off the GOG launcher overlays?

I don't know how they implement avx routines but they have to think about a other way to get the same results and that will cost work and a lot performance. Assassins creed odyssey fucks your CPU without AVX support.

If you have a friend who has also the game, send them the save game and let them play the part where it crashes. That works for me but its shit.

So long ... bye

actualy thats and idea you play normaly and when are the crashes u use this workaroud save and reload the game

found on steam forum:

If you have an old processor like me (I7 X980) that does not have AVX, your game will crash when you sit on the chair, or you exit the bar or after the cutscene.
I was able to download the Intel SDE and run the game to test it and it works, the problem is the FPS are too low to play it.

The SDE you can find it at
https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/articles/pre-release-license-agreement-for-intel-software-development-emulator-accept-end-user-license-agreement-and-download.html
To run it unzip it your game x64 folder, mine is on.
G:\GOG games\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64

----->DO NOT overwrite dbghelp.dll,<-----

When is copied, open CMD with admin, and go to the folder x64(cd folder name) when you are there type SDE -- cyberpunk.exe.
Open the task manager to monitor the application loading it will take around 4 minutes to display any image and the load of the save in my case took 2 minutes the average frame rate is around 20.
This is not a solution is just a bad work around but if this is the case the game will run.

Gotcha.

I guess the only thing to do, really, is wait for CDPR to release a patch to resolve the issues.

I'm also certain there's some people in Poland right now panicking a lot.

Is this SDE emulating just AVX or also something else like SSE 4.2 (which is supported by X58 CPUs)

Just asking, i dont think game would load for 4 minutes if SDE only would emulate AVX.

And if so, could you tell SDE to just emulate AVX rather than everything it can emulate? And pass everything else direct to CPU?

Or maybe i am misunderstanding how SDE works :D

Mine crashes on hitting Play.

I have tried every fix on these forums and CD Projeckts own fixes without success.

Same here, crashes directly after hitting the Play button:

Message: Gpu Crash for unknown reasons! Callstack here is probably irrelevant. Check if Breadcrumbs or Aftermath logged anything useful.
File: e:\r6.patch0hotfix2\dev\src\common\gpuapi\src\dx12\gpuapidx12error.cpp(40)

Win 10, GTX 1070, all the latest drivers.

Not a stupid question at all. We're in the same boat with this issue and I feel strangely comforted that I'm not alone with it, even if I'm also feeling really frustrated. You verify your game in GOG by going to your game and clicking the button next to the one saying "Play". In the drop-down menu you pick "Manage installation" and then "Verify / Repair".

I've turned off all overlays and any other software that may interrupt the game, but that didn't change anything for me.

Mine crashes right after creating the character. As soon the prologue mission starts it crashes, always at the same point, right when I have to press T to answer the call on the Corpo path prologue mission, which is roughly 20 seconds after being done with my character creation. During the creation itself, it works fine.
Anyone?

I got my copy from Epic Games. I usually crash before I even get to load my game, during the warnings before the load screen. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it let me play for about 15 minutes last night but I had to go to sleep so I saved and quit. When I came back to play the next morning it was doing the same crash on startup. I was able to get a little further and actually click on the button to continue my game, but I was never able to get it to load without crashing, and it still usually crashes during the seizure warning.

I've tried looking everywhere for solutions and it seems there are a multitude of completely different crash bugs so I've tried a lot of stuff. My drivers are up to date, windows is up to date, I have verified the install on Epic Games, tried loading from the exe file directly, edited the properties on the exe file so it disables fullscreen optimizations/override high DPI scaling behavior/run as administrator (note: the one time I got the game to run it was through the launcher, not the exe). I made sure no other programs are trying to do an overlay.

I'm uninstalling and reinstalling yet again to see if it works this morning. But if I have to do this every time I want to play the game, that is unacceptable.

My PC: Ryzen 9, RTX 2080Ti, 32 gigs of DDR4 on a ROG Crosshair VI Hero.

tried a few times. half the time it crashed after hitting play and the other half it crashes after creating a character.

Error reason: Assert
Expression: <Unknown>

I've found a slight workaround for crashes during startup. You have to delete the "Cyberpunk 2077" folder in appdata, it doesn't fix the crashes entirely but it's less frequent. It deletes your setting, so it's somehow related to the crashing.

"C:\Users\*[USERNAME]*\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077""

That is a smart idea. Unfortunately, I tried this, and after a minute of SDE preparing, the Cyberpunk exe crashes. Have you tried this personally?

There is no AppData\CD Projekt Red.
And neither in Local nor in Roaming is there a subfolder \CD Projekt Red
