Cyberpunk 2077 PC Crash Issues

+
it didn't work. The issue is still the same
So your game crash right after launching it :(
That's annoying but at least, you removed one of the most obvious culprits of the equation and it's something the support would ask anyway...
Another one could be something wrong with your drivers, so if you didn't, try to perform a clean install of your drivers :
NVIDIA
I. Download the latest drivers using the following link: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
II. Download Display Driver Uninstaller and run it to remove previous versions of drivers.
III. Clean install drivers that you've downloaded in step 1.
AMD
I. Uninstall your graphics drivers using the AMD Cleanup Utility software.
II. Download and clean install the latest drivers from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support

I got it to work for the moment. I'm not sure why it did what it did but by removing the files from the r6/cache folder (and of course causing an errror message trying to start the game), putting the files back and launching the game again it actually launched. It looks like that changed some of the graphic options in the game (maybe they returned to default or something when I forced the error message? To be fair: I don't know why it worked, I'm just happy that it did :shrug:). Today it's too late for me to try if everything works when my savegames and the graphics settings are back/changed again but it's something.
I had the idea because something similar fixed another game for me once (not related probably because different game engine; the way it fixed the problem was different etc.... I guess it was pure luck).

Anyway, thanks for the input. I appreciate it :)

"Software cannot tell the PC to power-down or restart -"
Am I misunderstanding? I mean I have several programs that do that. I made this bat file to do that as well:

@Echo off

shutdown -f -r -t 10

exit

Is that a new thing in win 11? I have win 10.
That's a batch file directly executing Windows instructions. It's not an active program operating through Windows. If you're playing a game, surfing the internet, using a word processor or something like Photoshop, etc, and your PC suddenly powers off / restarts itself unexpectedly...you have a hardware issue.

That will only happen if there's a problem with voltage, heat, or something so severely corrupted with the master file table that Windows has no choice but to execute an emergency shutdown or restart to avoid some sort of damage. The problem will exist in faulty RAM, mobo, hard drive, poorly seated or damaged graphics card, etc. Windows programs cannot tell the computer to shut down on a whim.

That could be either RAM or drive.

I'd start by opening an Administrator's Command Prompt with elevated access, then run the following:

sfc /scannow

(Note the space after "sfc".) That will scan the drive and attempt to fix any issues it finds with bad sectors or corrupted data. Don't interrupt the scan for any reason. Normally, it takes only a couple of minutes, but if it takes longer, that likely means it has found an issue and is attempting to resolve it.

hi all
I've been playing the game since the end of march when I bought this computer and have been using the save editor without any problems for months

the game started crashing in the last 2 weeks and I've tried googling this "unhandled exception" error but can't find any solution
the crashes started before the 2.2 update but since the game got updated, it crashes more often
so I've deleted my old save files, reinstalled the game and started a new plathrough, thinking the files corrupted the game too much. didn't help.
I've reinstalled the game multiple times, deleted specific folders people mentioned as solutions for other errors, verified game, reinstalled nvidia drivers, even reinstalled windows today only to crash twice in a short period tonight
I've tested the GPU to see if that's the problem, nope, it's not.

got an Intel Core i7-14700K with a 4080super and 32GB RAM

anyway, error report:

EventType=REDEngineErrorReport
EventTime=0
ReportIdentifier=ffffffff-ffffffff-00000001-00000000
Sig[0].Name=StackHash
Sig[0].Value=0x0000000000000000
Sig[1].Name=ErrorReason
Sig[1].Value=Unhandled exception
Sig[2].Name=InternalVersion
Sig[2].Value=3.0.5153696 P4CL: 7993848 Stream: R6.Release

so... anyone has any other suggestions?

This ive been having random shutoffs for ages always while gaming but very random. i could play Cp2077 for hours without issue but d4 would shut the pc off after some time, the timing vere always random too so very odd. Since i hade a 13900k i suspected it was the issue since they have been having issues but it was my very expensive PSU that was broken. Swaped it out and havent happend since. Even if you have a new PC your PSU could still be faulty sadly -.- i even spend extra for a good one and it failed :(

had another hour of peaceful play and then several crashes while looking for evelyn in clouds
I think it might be time to find a new game until they fix this. the game went from no issues at all to unplayable and I did everything I could to fix it.
it's clearly not an issue on my side

Well i would not say that, i played for 10h tonight and no crashes. This is the problem with PC gaming sadly, any little thing could cause issues after an update. Heck sometimes even windows updates causes crashes from nowhere in games that ran fine before. But if you have tryed everything and nothing works i guess thers nothing more to do.

Hello. I have a problem with the DLC. in the mission where we run away from the chimera, I don't have dialogue/action options such as "jump" or "grab onto the cable", so I can't go further in the plot, which may be the reason. The problem also occurs in other side quests.

Never had this error before!

Error reason: Assert

Expression: <Unknown>

Message: Gpu Crash for unknown reasons! Callstack here is probably irrelevant. Check if Breadcrumbs or Aftermath logged anything useful.

File: E:\R6.Release\dev\src\common\gpuApi\src\dx12\gpuApiDX12Error.cpp(42)

I do play with mods but it's been couple days playing till i got this error. Am i toasted?

Ive had similar crashes and now i dont so your not toasted. Gpu crashes can happend without it beeing a hardware issue. Has it happend more then once? If it happends more then once you might have corrupted gpu drivers so i would recommend using DDU in safe mode and completly remove the drivers and block windows auto installation of gpu drivers then reinstalling the lastest drivers.
