Stop saying it is related to lack of AVX support.

I used coreinfo (by sysinternals) to verify that my CPU (i7) does in fact support AVX and I still have the exact same problem with the CTD after prolog cinematic.

Code:
AVX - Supports AVX instruction extensions

You should have a * if supported, not a -
Your CPU DO NOT support AVX.

"Hello, CDPR

As you know many people still use processors that are but extremely capable and powerful otherwise like the 990x I'm using at 4.6Ghz. It can run any modern game with very high FPS together with my 1080Ti. However some games have parts where AVX is needed and it's a pain, so much so that Larian has released a patch removing AVX need from Baldur's Gate 3 for example, because it was so sporadically needed for the game it was unfair to require users the NEED of an AVX capable CPU just to load small parts of the game that require it.

Case in point, I run every introduction and tutorial of Cyberpunk 2077 with the above said hardware at high settings, 45~80 FPS all the time, but in each introduction there is a part where it crashes (everytime in the same part) because it sends AVX instructions to my CPU (i7 990x six core 4.6Ghz, otherwise more than capable of running the game) which does not support it.

I see many people with the same problem and most of the people online currently complaining about the game constantly crashing and not knowing why since they meet the minimum requirements (a 990x six core at 4.6Ghz is MUCH faster and superior than the CPUs listed at your minimum requirements) do have this exact problem: their CPU does not support AVX.

Please, let me and the community know when will there be a patch for non AVX CPU compatible players enjoy the game. Thank you very much.

PS: it was never stated anywhere that AVX was NEEDED to run the game and from what I see it's ridiculous to limit the game just because a few instructions here and there, rather I believe the game can run just fine without AVX maybe with a slowdown in some areas just like Baldur's Gate 3 does thanks to Larian's patch for non AVX users. Don't know exactly but you can find benchmarks videos on YT where folks play with CPU's that does'nt support AVX(Maybe i'm not right but you can check it anyway)

how do you know the problem :

" Error reason: Assert
Expression: <Unknown>
Message: Gpu Crash for unknown reasons! Callstack here is probably irrelevant. Check if Breadcrumbs or Aftermath logged anything useful.
File: e:\r6.patch0hotfix2\dev\src\common\gpuapi\src\dx12\gpuapidx12error.cpp(40) "

is caused by AVX ?

Well my CPU does support AVX and I can't even get past the play button on gog since I immidiately get the flatout error. So no, It can not be universally due to AVX.

it states somewhere in the crash report "EXCEPTION_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION (0xC000001D)" in one of the text files. Or anything else instruction related.

Wow - this thread now looks like a bit of a confused mess! There were different issues thats now all merged under one generic thread? Not sure how that helps? There were two distinct issues from what I could tell:

1. People who can't even launch the game when the press play
2. People who can launch the game but then crash at specific points

They may be related but merging these thread together is not going to simplify things?

Lmao. Why does the recommendations on the shopping page for Cyberpunk 2077 say that even i5 is sufficient when the game urgently needs AVX? The game was delayed for months and still no decent product was delivered. Very disappointing.

EDIT:
Just saying, I didn't jump on the whole hype bandwagon of this game. I thought it was cringy and overrated at some point. But the game doesn't even seem to meet basic requirements for an AAA title (bugs, crashes, severe glitches, etc).

Let me know if im not right but as i mentioned the problem when people can't even launch the game depends on the version of Windows'(For example, 1607 LTSB,Windows 8.1 are not capable to launch it)
