I installed it in a different drive than I installed GOG galaxy, but mines installed on a HDD. So unless it has an issue with being separate from the main drive?

Really trying to find a common thread here to see if it is some vague setup that is common for gamers, but not devs and qa.

"I'm 99% certain this is due to CPU not supporting AVX instructions, of which all CPUs before 2011ish do not. Also not all new CPUs have it either."
Some reddit guy post this. So i guess its CPU related. I have i7 950 and have same crashes

I have a sneaky feeling the crash is caused by my intel CPU not having the AVX features.

I'm using a intel x5675 CPU.

You guys that are having the same crash, what CPU are you using?

Maybe the game is using the AVX features to simulate crowds. That's why in the cities, it crashed. While starting with The Abandon character, there is no crash yet, I suspect when I reached the city, it will crash again.

Ladies and gents -- it's totally understandable that you're disappointed and annoyed that the game may not be working for you. It was working fine for me, and then I fiddled with the resolution, and now I can't play at all. Crashing constantly. No idea.

But that's not an excuse for being rude or hostile. Let's keep the tone of the posts to the point and respectful. If the game were not a hugely complicated machine, it wouldn't have taken hundreds of people years and years to build it.

Post issues that you see and your specs. Try to explain the steps you're taking to reproduce the crashes. If possible. (Mine seem totally random.) Also, it may help to identify whether you're on Steam or GOG. It appears GOG players are experiencing more crashing. Could be that something about the update simply isn't working correctly.

Im using an i7 920. Looking like it's a CPU issue then. Hopefully this is fixable and not a matter of needing new cpu's...

Horizon Zero Dawn have the same issue, but they managed to disable the AVX requirements with a patch, and I can run it super smooth.

Hopefully the same thing can be done for cyberpunk.

Death Stranding also can't load because of AVX, but they haven't bordered to fix it.

Running through GoG Launcher, got through character custimazation, then it crashed. After that it crashed on launch (repeatedly), right after splash screen. I modified some settings, including keybinds.

Then removed 'C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red\UserSettings.json' and was able to launch and play.

I then modified keybinds again (which generated a new UserSettings file) and the game crashed.

Seems to me there is an issue with customizing game settings.

I'm crashing 100% of the time within seconds of starting a new game. Just after character creation, usually while V is looking in the mirror, sometimes starting the first line of dialogue, sometimes crashing while the screen is still black while loading in.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, GTX 1060 6GB, SSD for installation, clean reinstall for the latest Nvidia 460.79 drivers, otherwise my specs exceed recommended on the GOG store page. I had to download the offline installer, since I was having latency issues trying to install directly from GOG, though I'm not sure if that would affect anything. I've followed the crash fix advice on the website to the letter, game integrity, antivirus, clean boot, etc. I'm also launching the game as an admin.

The one thing I'm not sure about is DirectX, DxDiag says I'm running DX11, and I realize the game requires DX12, but I'm assuming that since I can get in game at all, Cyberpunk has somehow installed the Dx12 requirement. I've seen no prompt to install DX12, and there's no DX12 installer exe that I can locate in the install or game files.

Am I missing/doing something wrong?
