IN CYBERPUNK 2077**

Crashing during prologue

Hello guys, just started playing the game. Anyone else crashing after leaving the bar? (Street Kid).

Edit for new people joining the discussion:

For a lot of people, the game has been crashing some time after launching the game.

What we have gathered so far:

- Street kid: Crash upon leaving the bar.
- Corpo: Crash upon sitting on the chair.
- Nomad: Crash after finishing the cutscene when getting to Night City.

Graphics drivers don't seem to be the issue, as many people have tried updating with no luck.

Some people suggest an issue with old CPUs, not using AVX (I don't know what this means myself though).

Despite the issue with the potential lacking compatibility, some users have pointed out that this potentially could be fixed with a patch (this has apparently been done with other games).

Though it has also been reported that some users with newer CPUs also encounter this problem.

So far no "sure fire" fixes have been brought to light.

Clean installs also seem to not fix the problem.

Remove avx require please.

Exact same issue for me as well, game crashes as soon as I do any of these starting quest activities -
Nomad - first time entering the night city
Street Kid - Exiting the bar
Corpo - Sitting in the chair

Please CDPR fix this ASAP, and I sincerely hope it's an easy fix and does not require much effort from your end!!!

First Crash: After creating new character.

All Subsequent Crashes: After hitting play in Launcher.

Is this because of GOG shenanigans?

Same. I get the error message immediately after pressing play from the GOG launcher or clicking on the exe. The game window doesn't even try to open. It just goes straight to the error message. I've tried everything that I can think of for the past few hours and nothing has solved it.

Same issue as above. All parts are good, video is great, dialogue is not glitchy at all, no halts in the game play... Until you leave the first scene in the Bar for Street.

0xC000001D Error. Every time.

I'm hoping this is an easy exception to handle.

Same here, I get a flatline as soon as I try to click on it to run. I am getting the 33Gb update now, but DAMN, I fnished downloading from the moment preload started just about an hour ago, have ATT dsl only 5mb due to CO distance. I got lucky by trying a tmobile testdrive free hotspot and was able to get up to 37mb/s to finish it else i'd still be halfway through preload, but las, the testdrives are only 30Gb of data, sucked that up in one swop. Now back to slow dsl, but trying to setup a new tmobile plan :)

System specs for anyone troubleshooting/correlating issues to hardware/configs:

I had 3 crashes within 5 - 10 minutes of each other. I dialed my settings down after each crash, turning off ray tracing briefly.
Stats are:
I7 8700k
64GB Ram
Asus STRIX 3090
2x 1TB nvme SSD in RAID(0)

Attempted disabling GoG overlay and then went troubleshooting.
I ended up re-installing (clean) the nvidia drivers 460.79 and left settings default there.
Restarted the computer and when I entered GoG, I used the repair/verify integrity button. after a scan it downloaded 29mb something and my game was able to run for 3+ hours without issue.

Maybe there was something wrong with the preload data that got fixed after integrity check?

I have reinstalled the game and ran that integrity check and it always makes a 29 meg update. No luck for me though.

Any ideas here. This is what I get after I hit the play button. Launching from gog. And have been getting this for the past 5 hours.

Your system time set right? You running through a proxy? Just trying to find out why your system wouldn't indicate its date to the game. Try the verify/integrity check.

Same Error on my System...
Tried for hours to find a Solution
(0xC000001D)
Specs: 2X Xeon X5690, 96GB RAM, GTX 970 4G
My attempts:
- latest Nvidia driver, fresh install with prior removal in Win. safe mode
- latest Win10 update
- ran as admin
- ran without GOG
- disabled In-Game Overlays (Nvidia, GOG)
- cried a while
Sadly nothing of that seemed to work...

I have contacted the Support and filed a ticket for the issue.
Hope this gets fixed soon...

At lizzie's bar, audio cuts out, freezes, then bluescreens me after a while. The autorestart always brings me to "no bootable device". I have to shutdown it manually by then. Good thing it did not damage my hdd. I hope they fix this.

P.S. I lowered my settings to no avail, and I can run this game smoothly up until lizzie's bar. Tried to play at an older save and it also gives me the exact same issue.

Hey everyone,

I don't want to give false hope, but I was having this exact problem all night.

i7 920 (non AVX)
RX 580
21gb RAM

The game would crash on Nomad just after the montage cutscene, when you sit in the car and it would crash to desktop.

I managed to get it to work by: loading the game, loading a previous auto save (the one right after meeting Jackie at the safehouse, if that makes a difference) then reloading the auto save where the montage cutscene starts. Then the crash doesn't happen.

I duplicated this three times by doing the above, but if I load the game and jump right to that cutscene it will still crash unless I do the above sequence first.

I haven't tested it to see how far I can get yet, so I don't know if this actually solves the problem for good, but it's progress at least. I can't test further because I need to go to bed, but I wanted to hop on here first to let everyone know in case it helps.

After creating the character, the game crashed. Since then, the game crashes soon after showing the CRPR logo.

Tried everything short of reinstalling the game. There has to be some cached data that needs to be cleared otherwise I would have not been able to run the game the first time.

Frustrating... Same here. Crashes before it even starts.

Specs:
CPU I5 4690
GPU GeForce GTX 970
12 Gb RAM DDR3
480 Gb SSD
Windows 8.1

!!!CRASHED!!!
Error Reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to read inaccessible data at 0xED5F70.
File: <Unknown>
Line: 0

Support is dead silent, even thought it seems that to many people are having the same issues.

Tried to:
- Disable every single one overlay (GOG, Nvidea, MSI)
- Clean reinstall of the updated GPU driver
- Revert previous GPU driver
- Repair the game
- Reinstall the game
- Reinstall GOG Galaxy
- Check Windows files integrity
- Reinstall C++ Redistributables
- Turn-off antivirus/firewall
- Clean Windows boot
- Change permissions on file properties
- Delete config files from AppData
- Lie down, not to cry ( ok, not, but still pissed, waited a long time for the game)

So i gave up, better luck to you guys!

Today I was able to progress in the game till the character creator screen. Then the game crashed and, afterwards, I wasn't able to restart it anymore. The game simply crashed with the dreaded 'Game has flatlined' message while displaying the CDPR logo.

Since the game worked for me the first time, it had to be some file the game was leaving on the hard disk. It turned out that, if you open the directory;

C:\Users\ (your login name)\AppData\Local|CD Proejct Red\Cyberpunk 2077

Deleting the files in this directory solved the issue and the game was able to start afterwards.

I hope it helps as it helped me

Same here:

Xeon W3690 (also non-AVX as all 1366 CPUs)
48 GB RAM
2070 Super.

There are also people with something like a Pentium G4560 which also lacks AVX-support...

Please fix this! Thank you!
