Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty - Twitch Drops

+
Just so we are crystal clear. You want me to pay Twitch $9.98 for a sniper rifle in game.
Hum... No, to be clear, CDPR will reward you with a riffle for supporting a streamer you like. If you don't like Twitch and/or any streamer, don't pay support. It's up on you to decide if it's worth or not ;)

it's a nice reward for the streamer for promoting the game in a positive light, the more rifles they can shift, the more subs they gain

Depend... If a streamer provide crappy content, I don't see anyone giving him money... After I guess there are people who will "pay" any streamer no matter what content they do, just to get the weapon, which is stupid if you ask me :)

Beside, it's quite like the in-game rewards if you own CDPR Cyberpunk + The Witcher 3 + Gwent. I don't like card games, I don't have Gwent, I don't plan to buy it, so I won't have the rewards... I can live with that. It's not worth for me to buy a game I won't play just for a "reward".

This sort of behavior sucks.

It sucked when there were retailer-specific items at the Witcher 2 launch. (But IIRC this was blamed on the insistence of the publisher, and everything was added as DLC within a week of launch).

It sucked when only the XBOX version of Witcher 3 got the physical Gwent cards. (But it was a "nice add-on that Microsoft paid well for, and the actual game was still the same across all platforms")

And it sucks now.

I'm having to do extra work messing about with something I'm entirely uninterested in, in order to get the "full" version of the game. And it sucks.

Purchased the game on my xbox (microsoft store) when it came out, and was getting ready to play the DLC soon when i saw the twitch drops. Is there any way for me to get the twitch drops at all?? Im not seeing anywhere that the GOG account can be connected to xbox accounts currently, so I see no option for xbox cyberpunk paying customers to obtain the drops... anyone else experience this?

I'm on Xbox and I got the rewards ;)
You have to link your GOG account on Twitch, watch streams to unlock the drops. Then on your Xbox, just link your GOG account in the game menu. Items you unlocked on Twitch will be added to your game using your GOG account.

you don't have to buy gwent, just download it, its free on gog so you have a reward you can claim :)

I think mt's are a slippery slope, unfortunately investors love profit and nothing generates profits like people happily paying $~10 for a digital gun. That amount of cash will be very much be a temptation for more and show them that their playerbase will accept and pay for this sort of dlc. Their reputation now gone as a zero MT company, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain

Yes, but you get the idea. It's the same for those who didn't buy TW3 nor planed to buy it, they won't have access to the rewards too. I can't imagine someone would buy TW3 for the sole purpose of getting the reward for Cyberpunk...

Sure, but I don't think many people will "pay" a streamer only to get the item... At least I hope, because it would be quite sad :(
Beside, this money go "mostly" in streamer pockets, CDPR didn't get any (I think Twitch take some, for obvious reason, but still) ;)

Well these items are physically present in the game files and you can add them to your inventory via CET if you really want to...

But there is a difference between cosmetic tie-ins like TW3 items and game-themed items like these, and the sniper riffle is another can of worms.

It reminds me of the Mass Effect 2 DLC tie in crap with Dr. Pepper visor etc. Items like Blood Dragon armor being very good for Adepts resulted in situation where there are useful items you don't get with base game and since its FOMO and not MTX you can't even buy them via "in-game purchases".

I guess these items are in game files already as well, so I can add them to myself once CET is out and CDPR having their anti-DRM stance means I can do whatever I want with the game files and they can't complain about that :)

Send Twitch Support a ticket about that Sniper Rifle issue as they did a bait and switch on me too as they had that text up about it needing to be a sub to a new channel for the first 7 hours of the promotion. When I saw it first thing this morning, I thought it would be nice to give CD Project Red a sub for the release and did not get the Sniper Rifle so I sent Twitch Support a ticket about the issue with the images showing the promotion requirements they had up and the before and after of my subbing to the channel and they emailed me back saying that it shows that it was claimed for me but it could take 24 hours to show up on the Twitch Drop Inventory page.

I think they did not really read my Support ticket or look at the pictures I provided and just saw that I claimed the 2 other drops so I did send a reply back mentioning how they did the bait and switch because I noticed the terms on the drops page requirements got changed but they did not respond back yet but I imagine that they got a lot of Support tickets on this issue and that is why they finally changed the requirements on the Drops page. So it looks like I will have to send another message in the morning once the 24 hours have passed but I bet many people got burned on this since it was up for 7 hours and while I was in Cohh's stream to get the exclusive helmet I saw a lot of people that were not even following him sub and not gift sub because they probably were also just following what the requirements said on the Twitch Drops page.
Got the same response from Twitch. This is absolutely crazy how they bait and switch and to add to that every source has different things to say about how to obtain the drop. It boggles my mind how inconsistent Twitch and CDPR are. GL

We get 50%. Twitch gets the rest. Also, it's CDPR chosen streamers. There is a list at the top of the thread.

This is literally every pro-microtransaction statement ever.

All of the streamers are playing with the Yasha right now, telling people to buy subs to get the in-game item. That is called sales.

EDIT: The streams right now are hilarious. Everyone refuses to switch off of the Yasha that they are selling, just struggling to make close range sniping work to keep the product on the screen.

imo cdpr take a cut from sales of twitch drops as well, they are driving up twitch viewership and subs, They aint going to give a rifle away out of the generosity of their hearts, they are getting some return from them and expect some form of profit be it good grace with the streamers or a cut of the profits

Does anyone else have problems getting the sniper? I connected my account (I already received the pants), bought 2 subs on a channel that was on the list, then a field came up to click to redeem and still I didn’t get the sniper.

I got a prob with the helmet. I got the pants, but the counter (look a stream for 1h) for the helmet did not work and i look streamers that are promoted from twitch for it. I even opend streamers in other languages, that i don't understand.

I'm going to be nice here.
I'm a Cyberpunk 2077 player since the early days of the launch. I've put a good amount of hours on it because i love the game, never really had any issues reported by others. Only small stuff.
As soon as i could i pre-ordered Phantom Liberty, not mainly to get the goodies but also to support CDPR. Kinda to show you have the backing of some fans of the game too, so you you should have our backs too. I know some people will call me an idiot for pre-ordering and so on., and i kinda do feel a bit like one because now i find you are giving other items for Twitch viewers only. It might come across petty but it struck a nerve with me, specially now that cloths are overwhelmingly cosmetic (also a dislike of mine). But the collector in me will be struggling knowing this.
I sincerely hope you will give us a change to get those items as well. I do not watch any Twitch channels and i won't start for it.
Please reconsider. You are throwing away good will people were getting from your gradual improvements of the game.

3.5 weeks in order to unlock one set of clothing is a bit unreasonable, IMO.

This is not a live service game that we'll likely to keep playing for weeks, months, or even years on end. A lot of people finish the game in 1-2 weeks, not to mention the people that have already finished the game before 2.0
By the time we would unlock the Jacket, we've likely moved on to play something else.

NGL this is pretty disappointing.

Ok, let me repat myself ;)
"The weapon is a reward for supporting a streamer you like if you think he deserve it."

So again if people are ready to give their money to this kind of streamer which make crappy content, that's up to them. It's quite sad and I don't really know what to say.

actual the sad and funny part is people seemed surprised and it already is the norm for lots of games. after 2.0 the game is virtually unplayable.
Virtually unplayable?
gimme
a
break.

it's also a weapon that isn't unique. The skin is, but nothing else. You can get a version of it in the game.

I hate Twitch drops SO much. I want to play the game! Not watch some [...] playing it -.- Useless... Stop it!
I never watch the streamers. I'll throw twitch on before I go to work on a channel with the !drops tag, then by the time I get home I'll have the reward.
