Last night I saw the Witcher 3 Remake trailer at Gamescom, it was a bit too late for me to think it further before going sleep. This morning got me thinking about CDPR's continuous support for their newest shiniest title, Cyberpunk 2077. Witcher 3 has already been reworked multiple times, and Witcher 1 is getting a full remake, so it it struck me that it wouldn't be surprising if there was also some rebranding of Cyberpunk 2077 as Remastered also.
But since the game has been kept up to date pretty much with all new technological leaps like DLSS 4.5, it would less likely be graphical upgrade, unless they manage to tweak a lot of in engine problems that might be saving enough computing space for more graphics, but less likely anything shocking like that... but something like a camera rework. Considering there's been rumored leaks of "DLC" which were later deleted, there is likely coming some kind of content upgrade, perhaps in time for actual Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 release or soon after.
A rework like that could focus on stuff that was limited by the scope of the game, like:
-
Considering the amount of fuel poured into existing IP's I think it would be very wise decision to have something like this happen with Cyberpunk too, even if you only attracted 5 million more players with all the reworking, that's a lot of more future revenue for next IP release, and there's already working TCG and other Cyberpunk themed projects.
Perhaps even shifting the Cyberpunk 2077 into Unreal Engine could be feasible, since they kind of have to do it anyway for the sequel, so shifting assets is going to be done anyway even without remake, so why not to import entire game too, which would give valuable lessons on limitations and possibilities of Unreal Engine.

So given by latest information of Witcher 3 getting massive rework, what's the odds of Cyberpunk receiving same? There's still plenty of games to cover in Gamescom for the next 4 days so wouldn't it be shocking to see another 'hacking' sequence in middle of the show and having the hacker 'red' upgrade the game?

- proper third‑person support in gameplay AND cutscenes, meaning camera swapping angles based on which character talks etc
- revisiting some quests or scenes to improve pacing or staging
- adding entirely new 4th lifepath
- fixed the metro ride's teleporting into seamless transitions (actual content added to the metro rides, having some quest givers in metro)
- AV's to be actually possible to ride
- more realistic Maxtac dropship driving paths
- weapon modification improved
- hacking made easier to apply like in a cone based casting
- reworking consumable items
